I finished DOA a while back with 2 characters and finished DAO awakaings with 1. But that is all a long time ago. Now I want to start all over agian. I made a Dalish rogue. My last rogue was a city elf with bows. This time I would like a dual sword or dagger wielding rogue.

Now please help me. My talents so far are:
Dirty fighting, Below the belt, Deft hands, Duak weapon training and Dual weapon finesse.

My main aim atm the moment is lethality.

My stats are as follows
Str 13
Dex 17(+3)
Will 14
magic 12
cun 17
con 12

If I remember correctly there were some problems with daggers and bows. They were not using the correct damage stats or something like that meaning bows damage was not influnced by dex or something. Has this been fixed or am I just making things up?

Also I think their was an issue with some of the party member character backgrounds. If you they liked you past a certain point they would not tell you of their back ground anymore and thus you were unable to do their story.

But back to a rogue. Any tips hint ideas etc. All are welcome. Should I go for 2 daggers, 2 swords or?

2 dagger gives the highest dps.
you should aim for momentum first and coup de grace asap.
followed by riposte and stealth, as it gives you a better chance at backstab. stun with coup de grace works wonder.
cunning at 30 will be good if you are going to be wielding axes. as you need more strength rather than cunning.
i will suggest duel dagger at low lvl and duel wield axe at high lvl.
stats should focus on 2dex:1cunning till cunning is at 30 unboosted then, 2strength:1 dex per lvl. you might want to add abit of willpower along the way though.
for duel wield, best spec will be either assasin/duelist or assassin/bard.
the first is more dex based while the second is more cunning based.
depends on you style, you might want to just remain as duel wield dagger all the way or change once at a higher lvl.

It depends on whether you're building a str-based rogue, a cun-based rogue, or a dex-based rogue. Judging from your stats, it's early enough that you could go any which way you wanted. You only need lethality if you're building a cun-based rogue, since that talent allows cunning to be used in place of strength for all damage calculations.

Standard build for a cun-rogue uses two daggers and runs momentum, since this allows for the fastest attack speed. If you really want to use two swords, of course, there's nothing stopping you.

But other people have summed up rogues better than me. So here's Discobird's DPS calculations for rogue builds:

Rogue mechanics explained (also by Discobird):

And the character build guide (rogues are toward the bottom):

As for the bug in character backgrounds... that's only Leliana. Past a certain point, the conversation topic that starts her personal quest is no longer available. So talk to her about how someone like her ended up in a Chantry before it goes too high.
