King Cailan planned on Marrying this women but as we discover, she visited Kirkwall many times and was there when Malcolm Hawke apparently snuck in to see Leandra Amell  which was before Hawke was born.. So that would have been like 25 years before the start of Dragon Age Origins as thats how old Hawke apparently is.. So i'll assume she wasn't Empress when she was 10 she would have been at least 45 during origins and the start of Dragon Age 2.. And Cailan was.. What like 20 something? So am I correct in saying that as of 9:40 Dragon the current date we are up to, Celene is 55 or older?

I thought that Celene were young in DAO. 20? And she actually could be an Empress, even as little girl. Do you know something about history? Little boys ruled as Kings and Emperors With "help" from powerful nobles, of course.

or they kept their title of prince / equivalent while someone was named Regent and protector of the realm until the heir came of age

Perhaps Duke Prosper de Montfort from MotA were her Regent, cause he is still second most powerful person in Orlais right after Her, by information in this DLC.

Her codex entry says

Which doesn't sound like she was a little girl at the time.

She was in power and made peace with Fereldan in 9:20

Wulfram: This prooves nothing. Real kings in antiquity and medieval age did plans for conspiracies, war and assassinations even when they were 13-15 years old So something after 20 is possible.

I always imagined her to be a similar age to Anora. I think she might be in her late 30's/early 40's by the end of DA2. We better get the chance to see her in the flesh before she get's too old though.

Empress Celene is one of Flemeth's daughters. She managed to escape her mother and set herself up in a position of power to protect herself.

Though in one of the codex's gained from one of the portraits in Mark of the Assassin it talks of this old noble (cant remember her name) in Orlais that seems to be the one really pulling the strings and the one who placed Celene on the throne, so I imagine she would be more powerful than Celene.

Celene was sixteen at the time when she assumed the Imperial throne, and that was in 9:20 Dragon. The only Empress prior to her would have been the wife of Emperor Florian.
