I like the Soldier best. Honorable mentions go to the Vanguard and Sentinel.
Favorite class?

Vanguard is the most fun and tactical, i think. But, infiltrator is not bad either

Charge, shotgun, melee, melee, charge, restore barrier, Rinse lather repeat.
Vanguards, when played right, don't die, and kill everything, save bosses, with that combination. If the shotgun to the face doesn't kill it first. ^.^

I loved the sheer versatility of my sentinel and my infiltrator is way way cool. I need to play vanguard again as it's an awesome class but I played on normal with him last time and wasn't very good at the game either being still fairly new to it. I'm actually itching to try an engineer next as I love the look of it. Basically It's any class except soldier really because ME2 is more than just having loads of guns. Tech and biotic powers are so much fun
) My favourite class? I can only judge on the 4 that I've played so far (soldier, vanguard, sentinel and infiltrator) but for me the vanguard wins hands down for the sheer carnage and destruction but overall I think it's the infiltrator that suits my current playing skills the best.

Vanguard is SUCH an amazingly satisfying class to play when you want to enjoy yourself and be overpowered as all hell. Such fun sometimes.
Overall, Soldier and Vanguard are my favorite classes. Every class has stuff to like and dislike though. I'm going to be experimenting MUCH more with classes in ME3, now that the usual weapon restrictions have been lifted. No matter what, you'll always have 3 weapon slots, so I can always have my trusty Mattock.

For those who said Vanguard, which shotgun do you like best? For me it's the Claymore. Sure you might have to reload after each shot, but it's strong as hell.

Vanguard and adept in ME2, soldier in ME1. In ME2 soldier is my least favorite.

Didn't like being tied down with only three weapons, so I didn't snatch the Claymore.
Not like you need to though, after the Eviscerator and the Geth Plasma Shotty were released, it almost became obsolete; Geth model has greater power fully charged, and more ammo (Minus the knock-back, but meh, what the hell.) and the Eviscerator has almost the same damage, better range, and still has knock-back, which, combined with its greater clip capacity, makes stun-gunning even easier.
In the end (To answer your question.) I stick with the Eviscerator. The Geth was fun, a lot of fun, but after a while I missed that "Dokan!" of an actual shotgun. I hated noddling around waiting for charges too.

i like the basics of the soldier. i don't want my shep to be a walking biotic/tech/weaponised tank, i want specific specialists and taken that in ME2 there are no soldiers, it's my choice for shep.
i wish i had more control over the weapons though,as in i don't want to be walking around with 50 million guns strapped to my back, i don't need all of that. gimme the hand canon, the Collector rifle, a couple grenades and a few packs of medi and i'd be happy as a pig in ****.

Hmm I almost feel like the answer should be the last class I beat the game on (adept), but unfortunately it really isn't (sorry adept)
I think overall I am going to pick Soldier. If I have to be more specific, it is a Soldier with Revenant. I agree with the sentiments where there is just something about Shepard being a gun toting badass rather than Anakin Skywalker or Harry Potter.
Second though is Vanguard. So much fun when you get the hang of it. Add in the Viper for even more fun.
Next, I don't know. Sentinel, Infiltrator, Adept can duke it out. I just started Engineer and it just hasn't clicked yet. We'll see how it goes, but I don't think it would be ahead of the top two anyway.

I tried using an Adept... Once, but ended up playing him basically the same as my Vanguard, without the badassery that comes with it. And as much fun as nuking people with tech can be, I couldn't get the hang of it.
Saw an Eviscerator Engineer melt face on Tali's loyalty mission though, staggered everything with flashbombs, said shotgun, and the explosive drone to the point where nothing ever got the chance to fire back. Made Insanity look like a snooze-fest.

My least favorite is probably the Adept. It's like the polar opposite of the Soldier.
Soldiers = all guns but no biotics
Adepts = all biotics but no guns
Adepts do use guns, but they're mostly focused on using their biotics to fight. I need my guns, so that's why I like the Soldier. Mattock & Widow ftw. Plus, I'm an Adrenaline Rush junkie.

My Favorite class is the Vanguard without a doubt. I am an aggressive player and charging into hordes shotgun blazing is without a doubt up my alley.

i like vanguard, infiltrator and soldier, only having a pistol and submachine gun is almost unbearable

No matter what class I choose I always end up being a sniper...

My least favorite must be the Soldier. It's just too main stream. I didn't buy Mass Effect 2 so i could shoot. I did it so i could shoot AND use tech/biotic powers. I have beat the game with Engineer. And i'm now doing an Insanity playthrough with a Vanguard. The Vanguard doesn't have anything to take out shields or armor but the ammo Powers. But the Engineer has the Incinerate and Overload. The Vanguard is the funniest and most entertaining to play with, but the Engineer is most effective.

I have to say my favourite is Infiltrator which is a massive step up from ME1 (bottom 3). I just love how it handles. The Soldier used to be my favourite but there's too much sitting still in ME2. Infiltrator let's me dance around the battlefield, cloaking and moving to the best vantage point. Also love the sniper slow-mo, gives me a chance to savour the headshots.

Vanguard is fun but the Infiltrator/Engineer bring the pain.
