ME3 should have been released by now, if the developers would have sticked with the original release date. Could EA force Bioware to implement multiplayer in ME3? I think yes, because EA is greedy and hungry for cash. Thus we get the answer we need.
Do loyal SP fans suffer because of MP?
Hell yes they do! The game was done by Christmas already! MP took 80% of the dev. time.

How do you know that's why it was delayed? Maybe it had something to do with all the other games being released in the next two months.

MP took 80% of dev time? That's bull and you know it. Also it wasn't done by Christmas. You could get from start to finish but that doesn't mean the AI was done, voice acting completed, side missions done etc.

Actually, it's far more likely they moved it to march because they happen to be releasing the largest game any Bioware studio has ever produced five days before Christmas, and it would be really stupid to release two high budget, high profile games in the same quarter

Yeah that's definitely bull, I just wanted to add some drama.

But that still means that the levels were done, scripts were done, the programming part was nearly done. And even the plot was in a RC stage.

They have confirmed that it wasn't. You now have two options: believe them or don't. Up to you, I don't care. :)

Maaan, SW:TOR is a totally different league. MMORPG's are for nerds.

And this makes me believe you never knew the original release date in the first place.

SURPRISE BUTTSECKS, I am extremely glad ME3 will have MP. See my posting history. The first thing I've done after registering on this forum was creating a thread regarding MP in ME3.

Re: OP

Good grief.

The grasping search to find a rational basis for hating MP goes on.

You don't need a crystal ball to figure out that BW is releasing ME3 in March because KotOR is coming out Dec. 20. They don't want these two huge releases to overlap.

And even if the SP development team has to sit around polishing up their work while the entirely separate MP team in Montreal gets their work done, then this would be a very good thing

If you don't like MP, fine, but make up better excuses.

I think its part of it for sure, but the main part is bio didn't want two RPG's out in the same year or to run up with Skyrim, COD, and all of the other heavy hitters of this november.

Too many games being released in the next two months so it was definitely a smart move on BioWare's part. Plus they got more time to try and make the game as good as it could possibly be.

The holiday release was just an estimation. And no, it wasn't as stated by Bioware. It was moved to space out their game releases, as well as jump start their Q1 fiscal year.

Levels were not done by Christmas either. Basically the level was in white with limited animations, audio, etc. Programming is also a very broad subject, and is hardly ever done, even by a game's release nowadays (hence why we have patches, even to sp games). The scripts were also far from done...they were in a rather rough and more general format at the time.

Looking at the state of the game so far, I'm glad it is being released in March. Definitely needs a Mr. Miyagi wax and polish. By what I mean, it looks great, but hell do the animations and A.I. need work.

Mass Effect 3 was delayed to "address a larger market opportunity"... which is EA marketing speak for we don't think Mass Effect 3 can't compete with COD:MW3 + BF3 + TESV:S + AC:R + GOW3 + UC3; especially without multiplayer because apparently gamers these days are all braindead morons who expect the same gimmicky generic ****e in every title.

Besides they can't market and release SW:TOR and Mass Effect 3 in the same release window... they'd be practically splitting the marketing budget and customer base in two for both titles.

He and the other devs have said alot of things.and look what has happen.Polishing and adding things before they are really out of time.yeah theres a bunch of games coming out now.not wanting to compete with those is worry some to me,why do they not have alot of faith in their own product?
