"In the company’s earnings call, EA chief executive John Riccitiello said that he feels very good about the decisions the game development team is making on the Mass Effect 3 title. In order to execute on that plan, EA’s BioWare team in Edmonton, Canada, needs more time to finish it.Riccitiello said that the point of making the game more of a hybrid shooter is to expand the size of its audience."-venturebeat.com on EA's response to Bioware's This was all that was stated on the "delay" of ME3. I'm not sure if what you put in quotations was a quote or something you were trying to draw focus to, but it sounds like you were quoting.
Here's the actual Riccitello quote:"Essentially, step by step, [BioWare is] adjusting some of the gameplay mechanics and some of the features that you'll see at E3 that can put this into a genre equivalent of shooter-meets-RPG, and essentially address a far larger market opportunity than Mass Effect 1 did and Mass Effect 2 began to approach," said Riccitiello.
It's wonderfully vague. You can almost read anything you want into it.
Thank you for finding the original quote. Somehow it never ceases to amaze me how the media loves to paraphrase. Will probably edit my previous post then and make my semi-apology
