I'm not a fan, but I don't hate her. She's the queen of the Mary-Sues though. How many self-inserting Mary Sue fanfic writers actually get their character put into the real game/book/show? As far as I know she is the only one.

Bolded for truth. I didn't hate Tallis, but I didn't especially like her either.

Of course all the ppl that feel the need to criticise other peoples efforts are so very qualified because of all the wonderful creations they have out there on the worldwide web for evey one to admire their brilliance...
Post a link - Id love to watch your webseries or read something you have written
- that'd be awesome if you would pls
I agree that if one is to criticize any accomplishment, artistic or otherwise,it must be done civilly.
Art however, is,by nature, very much open to criticism. Are you suggesting we all become writers / painters / actors /game developers / poets / architects, etc. ,just to be able to have an opinion,a subjective view on any given work of art?
Different strokes for different folks, but as long as the opinion is articulated in a civilized manner, not resorting to ad hominems,it should be fine. Thats my opinion, anyway. For what it`s worth.<_<

I would have liked it better if she were more like Larius showed up occasionally to make sure we remember whatever our goal is not locked in your party for entire duration of the quest. She's with you the entire DLC. It also would have been better...if she were marginally entertaining.
What I hate the most is that the ending is always the same. No matter what you choose to do in the cave you always end up at the cliff-side (what?), you always end up killing Duke Prosper, and you always let her get away. I wouldn't kill her but...I don't understand why that's not an option. Considering that you can kill off some of the main companions (not sure about Aveline), and even Larius. Why not her?

Tallis is ... Felicia Day, quite literally. She's quirky, geeky, and crazy wierd but lovable.

And not if you're scraping for resources because you don't play MP.
I didn't find her loveable. Just irritating. Far too much showboating for someone who does that regretful act for killing the guard.

She's a female Qunari who fights. That sums up the "lore-murdering" arguments, since Sten went on and on about how women don't fight in DAO. Never mind that she's not a solider, but an assassin; apparently the qunari, who stress utility above all else, should be incapable of seeing the advantages of employing converts to the Qun as spies. It's not like they should be able to blend into a crowd.
If I'm not mistaken, that was expalined within the DLC itself in that she was a member of the Ben Hasaad of whatever it was called.
And Sten never even mentioned that Qunari could be anything other than Kossith, so it might not have applied. We still only know a lil portion of everything about the Qun.

*le sigh* I really hate the "It's because she's female" arguement. Actually...she'd probably bother me more as a male because then there's a good chance of them being a sexist douche in addition to everything else. Yay.

First, Sten's argument about women fighting was about women whose sole purpose in life is to fight. Gaider has said many, many months before DAII was released that Sten -- and by extension, all Qunari -- would view the Grey Wardens as an army. So a woman being part of the Grey Wardens would mean that she is trying to be a part of an army, whose sole purpose in life is to fight the Darkspawn.
Tallis fights, but it does not define her role. She is not part of the army -- the Antaam -- and therefore, she is still a woman under the Qun.
No lore was broken.
Secondly, the Qunari do employ converts -- especially Elven converts -- as spies in Thedas. There's a codex entry about Qunari in Thedas talking specifically about that. And Tallis also talks about the contents of the scroll listing Qunari agents -- and former agents -- throughout Thedas.
In retrospect, I'm not sure if your post is saying that's what other people say about it breaking the lore and you don't agree with it or if it's you personally that is saying Tallis is breaking the lore.
