READ THIS FIRST: Please don't just spam the thread with ten-thousand songs. Just pic 1 or 2 and actually explain to us why you chose those songs. That way this topic stays interesting and doesn't become just a boring list of songs.

Do you sometimes feel that weird feeling in your stomach when you listen to specific video-game tunes? Maybe it's nostalgia, maybe you just really really like the song or perhaps it reminds you of something (fun or nasty) that gives you this feeling.

Anyway, post the video-game songs that give you a special, weird or funny feeling here (and tell us why that song gives you a special or funny feeling).

Here is mine:

Zelda Ocarina of Time - Water Temple

This song is really special to me, because of multiple reasons:

1) It's pure nostalgia for me. I will never forget when I played Zelda Ocarina of Time for the first time as a kid. Especially the Water Temple, which was extremely hard, stays fresh in my mind.

2) The Water Temple was extremely hard. As a kid, I felt lots of emotions during this temple. It made me angry, it made me sad, but it also made me very happy.

3) I loved the whole atmosphere in the Water Temple and the music really adds to it. It felt so magic, so eerie yet beautiful.

4) The music itself is also really eerie. It's just a great piece of music. Awesome song.

5) Dark Link. Man, first time I fought him, I'll never forget that.

Contra - Base Boss

So metal.

Also, Metroid - Kraid

That tune is hardwired into my brain. My friends and I spent so much time with Metroid I'm sure our neurons linked and ordered themselves around the music.

Obvious picks maybe, but deal with it. I'm NES generation.

Yeah this song also gave me a special feeling too! Such an eerie song. Really suits the game Metriod.

(I'm SNES generation BTW. I was made in 1988 ;))

Well, I loved the water temple music as well...but another one that fills me with nostalgia is the Mario Bros music. I had a next door neighbor that about once or twice a month...would get drunk late at night...and play the old Mario Bros game at 1 or 2 am. The music would wake me up and I'd always wake up thinking, "what the?! Is that Mario!?" lol. The little tune that plays at the end of the flagpoles and in the dungeons always made me smile...even in my groggy irritation at being awoken at that ungodly hour.

Whoever did that is awesome. Reminds me of the SNES Mega Man X soundtracks.

Silent Hill 2 - Betrayal

Anyone who played that game will know why. To date Silent Hill 2 is the only game that has given me 'eyeball sweat.' The story and ending are simply amazing. My wife, who isn't even really a gamer, cried during the finale of Silent Hill 2.

I'm still scratching my head wondering why the crappy Silent Hilly movie didn't use the story for Silent Hill 2 for the film, with Sean Bean playing the part of James Sunderland instead.

Shining Force II (Warriors of the Reviving Light - Battle 2): This was my favorite as a kid. It was the first serious game that I finished on my own. Completing it gave me the greatest feeling of accomplishment in the realm of video games, and I doubt that feeling will be surpassed. This plays during the start screen, so it amps me up for some serious demon killing.

Chrono Trigger (Wind Scene): I remember that I faked sick a few days to get out of school to beat this. Then I found out that there were multiple endings. That was a fun year for me at school. For whatever reason, I have yet to attain all endings. This is my favorite overworld theme, what with its melancholy air and all.

Ocarina of Time (Opening Theme):I got this bundled with N64 for my birthday, which I share with my brother. I told him that he could have the console if I could claim ownership of the game. This isn't my favorite Zelda game - that distinction belongs to Majora's Mask - but this was my first N64 game. Every time I turn the game on and this plays, I know that a magical experience is waiting for me.

Phoenix Wright: Trials and Tribulations (Fragrance of Dark Coffee): The series holds a special place in my heart. Godot holds a special place in that special place. Plus, there's a jazz version of this song that is absolutely sick.

Mass Effect (Main Theme): The ME series is my favorite of this generation. Mass Effect was the first game that my brother bought for the Xbox 360. It was between that or Devil May Cry 4, it was up to me, and I told him to get Mass Effect... which was for the better, as DMC4 was a giant disappointment. The slow building, sweeping awesomeness of this song really helped to draw me in at the beginning.

DDR (A): So I used to be a HUGE DDR nerd. I could finish just about any song on Heavy, I'd see arrows in my sleep...Heck, I'd sometimes pretend I was on a dancepad at junior high dances and tear it up. I dunno what happened, but I stopped playing. A and  Healing Vision were my favorite songs. Hearing them makes me wish I had enough money to get a semi-decent dance pad...

Heavy Rain: The first time I played through this game, I failed the QTE with Madison at the end. I was absolutely dumbfounded and extremely upset at what happened next. It was a punch in the gut, and this song reminds me of that.

That's not all, but I'm just gonna go ahead and stop here...

Final Fantasy Tactics had one of my all time favorite soundtracks. It just made the game.

Valkyria Chronicles would be one of my other favorites for moving scores.

Icewind Dales2. Inon Zur, but Jeremy Soule did amazing stuff on the first. Loved the tracks of both games.

I don't want to set the world on fire by The Ink Spots, I still get goosebumps when I fire up Fallout 3 such an epic opening sequence.
Still alive by Johnathon Coulton because it was the perfect fit for GLaDOS (and catchy as all getout).

Wow we can only pick a few? If I had to narrow it down to three with hit a nerve with me it would be these (in no particular order):

1. "Flight" from Xenogears OST (Squaresoft)

What can I say that already hasn't been said. This game is considered by many to be one of the best gaming OSTs of all time.

2. Terra's Theme from Final Fantasy VI (Squaresoft)

Three mechs walking in snow...one of the greatest intros imo to any game. And with it came this unforgettable tune..At the 1:15 mark is imo where it transitions is prob the best 10 seconds of gaming music ever .I really feel this is my favorite game song ever. It just evokes so much emotion from me as a gamer.

3. Aeris Theme from Final Fantasy VII (Squaresoft)

http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=olppvaiSgE0

I still remember the now famous scene of Aeris' death and in particular this theme. Here is Bioware's own Ray Muzyka talking about this landmark scene (skip to 4:13 mark):
