Battlefield Bad Company title theme (ie The Beast by Milt Buckner)

Firstly, it's just a really cool song, and I'd been known to spend a few minutes just watching the title screen before starting the game.

Secondly, it sets the game up right out of the box as not being just another honor-and-glory FPS. They could've just slapped some sweeping, dramatic score on there like so many other shooters, but they picked a song that - at least in part - summed up what they were doing differently, and it adds to the sense of fun that's missing from a lot of other shooters (I find).

The song is part of the reason Bad Company is one of my favourite shooters (definitely my favourite FPS of the generation), and I can't think about one without thinking about the other.

White Knight Chronicles Intro

Something about this song just sounds...epic. It reminds me of the many, many hours I invested into WKC, with Yulie and Leonard at my side, using Leonard and Caesar's Incorruptus(es); fighting Gigas, giant vespids, and basilisks...good times.

Dragon Age 2 Fenris Theme

This song makes me swoon. I'm not sure how else to explain it. It might have something to do with Gideon Emery's voice, and relating that to the Fenris romance. I also love the Isabela/Hanged Man theme.

Devil May Cry 4 Fight Music

Sometimes I wish all fights would play this music; it just gets you pumped up.

Demon's Souls Intro

The theme song for Demon's Souls is catchy. While my husband and I were playing it, instead of referring to the game by its title, we'd "sing" the song to each other. Goofy, I knew. We both knew instantly what it meant, though.

1. A tie between and www.youtube.com/watch?v=5xh1UoShdPM

These songs.... no matter how many times I hear them while I watch someone play the game or when I play it myself, I always get that hard pit in my gut as all the hairs on my body just stand on end. Definitely sets the bar for "Oh shi-!" in my book.

2. www.youtube.com/watch?v=DtpKhh4KcC0

Another song that gave me the chills when I first heard it. The reason why this song sticks out to me is the same as the previous songs I mentioned. It gives you that sense of dread as you try to run away like your ass is on fire.

From the Wreckage from ME1. Don´t know howm any times I´ve seen that moment and the music still makes me feel Shepard has died, and then the tone shifts...epic

And both versions of the Morrowind theme
and www.youtube.com/watch

I would stop and listen.

Deus Ex: Human revolution: Icarus
I dunno, this is just perfect, it really motivates you this track.

The whole Mass effect 1 soundtrack, but the stand out one is Vigil, as soon as I turned on the game and heard it in the main menu i knew this would become my favourite game. It's just so calming, I could just listen to it on repeat and relax, just meditate, think things through. It's just brilliant.

Alien Trilogy, I'm a huge fan of the Aliens series, and I loved this game as a kid, so much nostalgia! Me and my brother would play it constantly we would scare the crap out of each other. I had two tracks I loved, these were my favourite tracks from the game.

Ghouls 'N Ghosts was my first ever game, I can still actually remember myself playing this, I can actually remember playing it in a Games stall in a market, the guy handed me the controller and I was hooked, my parents just had to get it for me, lol. This was the most nostalgic track from the game as it was the graveyard level I played in the stall. I dont remember how old I was when I played it, the game was released a year before I was born, I think I might've been about 6 or 7.

The Mirrors edge main menu theme, for tbh the same reason as Vigil for ME1, just so relaxing, I love this type of stuff. I wish I could find more musicians that did stuff like this and Vigil.

I have a sizeable number of songs that move me, but per the OP's request will only post a few of them:

1. Dancing Mad (Final Fantasy VI) - A brilliant and highly complex piece of music that is, quite frankly, too good for the game it's featured in (as are most of the other songs in the game, and in the whole series for that matter). How Nobuo Uematsu got a gig doing soundtracks for videogames and not doing scores for major Hollywood blockbusters instead is beyond me, but the Final Fantasy franchise wouldn't be (and isn't) the same without him.

2. Opening ~ Bombing Mission (Final Fantasy VII) - Another piece of Final Fantasy greatness, this song provides the music for one of the greatest opening scenes in videogame history. It sets the stage for the epic adventure ahead perfectly. I'm still hoping Square might consider a PS3 remake of the game - I'd love to replay the whole thing with superior quality music and graphics.

3. Lower Norfair (Super Metroid) - I'd have thrown my lot in the the Kraid crowd, but I think this piece moves me far more. It perfectly captures the environment it's set in and gives you a sense of urgency as you make your way through the firey depths of Zebes for a final showdown with Ridley. The game itself is probably one of the greatest ever made, though that's just my opinion.

4. Dark World (Legend of Zelda: A Link to the Past) - Out of all of the amazing tunes throughout the Zelda series, this is one of the most enduring for me. Who doesn't remember being warped to the Dark World for the very first time after defeating Agahnim, and hearing this music as you look from atop the Golden Pyramid at the ominous sunset over the mountains? No? Well I do - and it was awesome.

5. Creepy Castle (Donkey Kong 64) - Here's one you might not have expected, from a criminally underrated gem of a game. As with Lower Norfair, it captures the environment it's set in to perfection. It's too bad the game itself didn't get more love, as it's easily one of the best platformers the Nintendo 64 has to offer.

I could post so many more, but it would be inconsiderate of the OP's wishes. Suffice it to say that I love videogames, and have many, many fond memories of them stretching back to my early childhood.

Ahhh Dark World...good choice!
Forgot to add one more. This is imo the most atmospheric video game track and Michiru Yamane's finest work, simply awesome!!

Also, Metroid - Kraid

Great choice. Probably one of the best themes ever made for gaming. And it's a great combination of energy, eerie, and epic. The three E's!

The Metroid series in general is full of gems like Kraid and Lower Norfair. Even the newer Prime games have some slick tunes to their credit (Phendrana Drifts FTW).

All great music from a great series.

I know I said I wouldn't post any more songs, but I couldn't resist. This is another favorite from Super Metroid:

Maridia - A haunting tune that once again captures the environment to a tee. It does evoke a sense of dark mystery, like how one might feel if exploring the bottom of the ocean and witnessing the bizarre creatures living there (which is pretty much what you're doing in-game at that point).

Starcraft 2 - Fire & Fury

World of Warcraft: Wrath of the Lich King - Arthas, my son

World of Warcraft: Burning Crusade - Black Temple ( Illidari)

Reminds me of the fun I used to have years ago.

Crysis 2 - Intro by Hans Zimmer

Just.. awesome.

Metal Gear Solid: Sons of Liberty - Theme song

I've personally never wanted to play MGS games, I've watched people playthrough all of them, so I know the storyline already and I love the music. The games are more like movies to me in that regard, but still..

Everytime I hear that song I feel compelled to flirt with Fenris and form a relationship with him even though I really want to romance a different character for variety's sake XDDD

Prologue - Okami soundtrack, just so beautiful and sad at the same time. Awesome game.

Jen meets Arella - Primal soundtrack, one of my favourite games from when I was young.

Final Fantasy IV theme - This need's no explanation!

And last but no least...

Fallout 3 Theme - I was just amazed by this game when I played it.

Obviously there are loads of Dragon Age/Mass Effect songs I love but as this is off-topic there's no need to.

There are so many others as well, would take me all day to find them.

Fallout 3 Theme

I don't usually find Inon Zur's music outstanding(it's usually good or at least fitting), but his work really clicks for Fallout 3, imo.

I'm trying to find the ambient track with the radar sounds. Love hearing that so much while playing.

Fallout 3 - Dungeon 2

Love it. Favorite soundtrack from the game.

Mass Effect...Vigil

When I think of Mass Effect from a musical point of view, I think of this song. It's ethereal, mysterious, it has this indescribable atmosphere to it that puts me almost in a meditative state. It's serene.

This, including Not Alone from Final Fantasy IX. Also various songs from Terranigma for the SNES including the Underworld, Surface World, Final Boss and Ending themes. God I love that game.

The credits music from StarWing/StarFox gets an honorable mention as well.
