A lot of the songs I love in games have already been mentioned...Zelda, BG, Halo.
Nothing beats the ME 1 and 2 soundtracks, though. Normandy Reborn is the best moment in any video game I've ever played, largely due to the music.
But here's one that has't come up, that really evokes the entire spirit of the game. Totally creepy, wistful, dark, and mysterious....It also happens to be one of the best instrumental compositions I've ever heard, period.

Narrowing down to three was really difficult, but here you go:
3. Terran "Russian" theme from Starcraft Broodwar It's beautiful, powerful and illustrates what happens to Stukov. Poor sod.
2. American McGee's Alice theme. The whole soundtrack is actually awesome. Why? Because.
1. Morrowind theme still gives me goosebumps when I listen to it. Sad and melancholy, just like Nerevar's story and the Dunmer fate in general, when you think of it. The latest incarnations of Oblivion and Skyrim are quite good too.

I doubt anyone is going to click this link, due to the fact that this is the third page of youtube links. But here you go anyway. Very beautiful, dark, and thought provoking piece of music here from Deus Ex Human Revolution. (And It's not 'Icarus'.)
