I've done everything for the console to work in Dragon Age: Origins. I'm using the steam version.
I've changed my Keybindings.ini to look like this:
pastebin.com/hkbX6xcL - I've changed every instance of OpenConsole so that I can open the console. That doesn't work.
I also added "-enabledeveloperconsole" in the launch properties on Steam AND in a DAOrigins.exe shortcut. That doesn't work.
Then I remembered I have a crappy Infrared receiever that blocks tilde like it did in Oblivion and disabled/uninstalled it. That didn't work.
What's going on? I can't move on in the game because this game is impossible even on the "easy" setting!

This is the walkthrough I used. It definitely works because I can use the console, and I have DA:O Ultimate Edition through Steam.
One thing to remember, though: if you have the console enabled, your Bioware online profile will only update achievements, nothing else. Not characters, story, etc. (pulled my hair out until I figured that out). So you kind of have to get used to switching back and forth between 2 launchers if you want your Bioware profile to be updated.

If you still can't get it to work, I'll compare my 'console' launcher and the normal launcher and do a differential to see if that would help you. Just let me know.

Are you positive it's not working? A console doesn't actually appear. If you press the tilde and you can't move, or click on anything, then it's active and won't go away until you hit enter.
Edit: No text will appear either when you type. So you'll have to go on blind faith and hope you spelled everything correctly.

You need to cheat to win this game? This game is super easy. But really if you want a cheat that's already in the game, just use the money making one that tons of people have posted already. You can sell an expensive item to the merchant twice at one go and then buy it back from him. Giving you the worth of the item sold to him in profit. Easy money maker. Just hold both left and right mouse keys when you drag the item to the merchant and then release the right key first then the left. Easy as pie. Only cheat you should need really.
