Blah blah blah, fact of the matter is the game is awesome no matter what the little details are.
According to the in-game statistics, I'm currently 57% through the main story before I called it quits for the night.
Gonna pick up where I left off later today.

I was gonna come into this thread and talk about how awesome the game is, but all I'm seeing is talk about physics this, tesselation that.

At least im playing Dark Souls now, som a bit disracted nowadays, but when i finished it, don't know if i can resist The Dark Knight.
And about physics and graphics;

I plan on doing a bunch of side stuff when I decide to not keep going with the main quest line, but its so gripping that I feel like I just have to keep going. hah
Oh, and as for how long it took, I believe from somewhere around noon(little before) to around midnight(little after), with a few breaks in between for other things.
I can tell I've progressed quite a ways because Batman's cape is all torn up. Love that they brought that back from AA.

Say what? 57% after one day? I thought this game was supposed to be longer than Arkham Asylum?
I'm sure glad I can wait to play the game.
I've heard it's longer with all the side quests ect, but apparantly according to a review I read the main campaign is 10 hours long.

I can't complain, because the open world setting is just too cool.

Had to cancel my preorder when I heard about GFWL + SecuRom. This thing is worse than Origin. Too bad, Arkham Asylum was almost a perfect game.
I'm getting it for the 360 anyway, but I can understand why you are annoyed.
It isn't out until Friday here in Denmark. Silly publishers and their ridiculous Europe-unfriendly release dates.

What am I seeing? I guess in the images without it her chest doesn't pop as much and it looks like the two different materials are actually at different thicknesses and not flat? Is that what I'm supposed to notice?
Well until they post a comparison shot with tessellation disabled, it's hard to say what exactly was tessellated. If I had to guess though, I'd say the moss (or whatever the hell it is) on the tree is tessellated.
Also, here's a comparison shot of the console version:

A lot less detail in the console screenshot, especially in the textures.

You really don't need Catwoman to enjoy the game. She's a nice add on but I think you'll have fun with just Batman.Nashiktal wrote...
I was looking forward to the game, but I don't have any internet to download the parts of the game they took out as incentive to buy new.

Can you play the entire game as Catwoman?

I still say the game doubled as a tech demo for Nvidia, and that the mist, sun rays, and rain blur effects of TW2 are just as impressive.
Yeah they were impressive, but none of them were physics related.
At any rate, Geforce.com has an exclusive first look at PhysX in Batman Arkham City.
They also posted the first confirmed screenshot of tessellation in Batman Arkham City:
You can see tessellation in the background, and on Catwoman's outfit.
im sorry, i couldnt hear you over the sight of catwoman's boobs.
