Definitely. Also, hearing Alfred do what he did made me go :o

I was like, "No WAAAAAY"

Alfred did have a point though and reminded Bruce of the reason why he became Batman in the first place. Though Protocle(sp) ten it self was intense, I had no clue it was gonig to be THAT, not to mention the true mastermind behind it.

Pfft, I was with Batman though. I was like, "F GOTHAM, I want to save her, NOW."

But yeah, once you find out what Protocol Ten is, you're like, "Alright, she can handle herself. RUUUUUUN! GOTTA SAVE THE DAY!"

loooool

So yes, Alfred did have a point. He was still being a douche canoe though. But a douche canoe for the right reasons.

Three layers of DRM don't bother me. Anyone with a good DX11 card should be willing to put up with it for the eye candy. I'm content to wait for a GOTY edition with all the extra goodies in one package though.

Not going to get it because they've delayed the PC version.

Then you'll be missing out on a hell of a game, but I can understand your reasoning.

I can't.

Not picking up a game you want out of spite that they delayed it?

Do you mean because it comes out one week after Skyrim?

I'm thinking I might consider picking it up at some point in 2012.

I understand it, but I don't agree with it.

If a game's good and it interests you, a delayed release should not stop you from getting it. That's just me though.

Completed some more side missions today.

Great stuff. Very interesting. A few possible hints as to what we may see in the next game in the franchise.

I got the game just yesterday. Gotta say I found it a bit underwhelming given the reviews. It definitely feels like Batman. But the combat is bad. It basically consists of button-mashing which makes the game less engaging than it should be. Controls are also a bit iffy. The AI is ****.

I just hope the story picks up.

The game is basically Arkham Asylum, but even better. So if you knew of the first game, you'd of expected the very things you're mentioning as negatives.

Well, for me I'd say I beat it in around 22 hours or so, without doing a good amount of side quests and such.

Tack that stuff on, interlaced with the main quests, and its surely longer. Perhaps 30 hours, maybe a little less.

And that's on Easy. On harder difficulties, it will obviously be longer to accomodate.

Also, a big factor in the game's length is how much time you spend on Riddler trophies. They are significantly harder to acquire compared to the first game and there's significantly more. As of right now, I have just under 80.

Out of 400.

So yeah, lots of variables that will determine game length.

Well, I just finished it. Here be my thoughts:

WARNING! SPOILERS BE AHEAD!

LIKES

- Be Batman. No matter how many new villains Rocksteady was going to add, the game's main selling point was always going to be giving players the chance to walk in the Cape Crusader's shoes. The first game hadnled that brilliantly, this sequel takes it even further. Being a stelathy predator is as fun as ever, with a whole set of new tricks to f**k up mooks with guns. But it's the combat that's really seen some massive tweaking. Fighting as Batman is even more fast and furious, and hell of a lot more vicious. Which is just as well, as your enemies will find new ways to beat your head into the ground. And the new gliding mechanic is a great way to traverse the massive gameworld.

- Sidequests galore. I love the sidequests. They're a nice distraction to the main plot and offer a ton of stuff to do. And the fact that they're tied to some of Bat's rogues gallery is a big plus.

- Joker's "death". I don't know if it's permanent, but if it is, it's a gutsy move for Rocksteady. And a fitting sendoff for Mark Hamill from playing the role.

- Ra's Al Ghul and the League of Shadows. If there was one part of the story that enthralled me, it's this. I know Talia was hyped to appear, but I did not expect to see Ra's. The sequence where Batman enters that bizzare dreamscape after drinking a bit of the Lazarus pit is just mindscrewy as the Scarecrow levels in the last game. And the boss fight with Ra's was great. But sadly, his appearrance leads me to my biggest complaint in the game which is...

DISLIKES

- Hugo Strange. Hyped since the beginning to be the main villain, and all he is a flunkey to Ra's?! Dissapointing. I liked Strange in the comics, but he was lame here and not much of a threat.

- New Game +. So we can only play with the additonal outfits in New Game +, where there are no counter symbols? Not cool Rockteady. Combat is hard enough with the counter symbols, it'll be downright frustrating without them.

I did put a big SPOILER WARNING at the top of my post, you know? It's not like I was trying to be an a**hole and ruin the game for the people who haven't finished it. I was giving my impression of what I thought of the story and to that I'd gave to reveal some spoilers.

Yeah, I know. Rofl.

I think it just shocked me that you were so open about it while I was apprehensive about being so open so fast.

But hey, what the hell. A few days from now I'll be talking about every last little thing.

Like how much I want to kick the asses out of the people who decided that what happened before the final boss fight should've happened.

EEEEERRRRRGH.

You have to wait another month so you rather not play it at all?

You don't know what button mashing is if you think this is.

No offense, but I hate the idea of countyer symbols and wished we could disable them in challenge mode in AA. There are no counter symbols in Street fighter, for instance. You just have learn to read the animations.

My last playthrough of Arkham Asylum I finally played hard.  I didn't even notice the symbols were gone.  I was so in tune with the combat that it was second nature to me.

For me I doubt I'll have a problem with the counter symbols gone.

Its a matter of flipping over enemies, cape stunning, keeping up a good combo, and being a good judge of when to counter.

My highest streak was 45 hits in the campaign. So close to getting the 50 hit 5 gamerscore achievement, but I ran out of mooks to annihilate.

I beat Arkham Asylum on hard as well. It was a bit of a pain, but I got through it.

But there's no way I can play Arkham City without the counter symbols. The combat is way too fast and freaking insane to beat without them. Maybe I'll try it at one point, but I'll sure be cursing like a sailor before it's all done.

No because the console version gets the game first and that is very selfish of these game producers.

I don't quite follow. It is in the interest of the game producers to release all platform versions at the same time (barring rare occasions when Microsoft pays a large incentive for the 360 to be released before PS3 and PC).

Clearly the delay in this case is due to some major technical problem with the PC port, since a delay in releasing the PC version means a delay in recouping costs.
