It's not that hard really, as they show up on your map and are not difficult to find. And beating up Riddler's thugs for info is a definite plus.

I've got a bunch of other games to play this holiday season.
Riddler's hostages will have to wait.

Oh, you didn't know? Before the game was a released, a video of one of the scenes where you see the riddler was shown and it was either implied or they mentioned that collecting the riddler trophies would lead to a conclusion face to face with the Riddler.
It's just, if I hadn't known about it, I wouldn't have been as interested as I am in the game.
My brother just got passed the part with Talia and Ra's... Stana Katic did a really good job, much better than I thought she would. And Dee Bradley Baker is as awesome as ever.
Ugh, Riddler is my favorite villain I would love to see that, but I don't think I have the patience to go around collecting all those trophies. @_@

So far I loved Gears of War 3 and Arkham City this year, cannot wait for Skyrim and Revelations. What a great year! It's going to be hard to pick 1 to be THE game of the year, though.

Not exactly the reason, it's just that over the years standards change. When Fight Night Round 3 relased on Xbox 360 OXM gave it a 10/10. Fight Night Round 4 got a 9/10. OXM said it was better than Round 3 in almost every way but it still got a lower score. Expectations changed.SilentNukee wrote...
This game is fantastic. I absolutely adore it, and you really don't even have to like Batman to enjoy it. It got a well deserved 10/10 in Gameinformer, the last game to do that was COD 4 (Modern Warfare 1...Of course 2 and 3 aren't gonna get a 10 because they're just all so similar to each other.)

This is the best Batman product in 15 years! This is the next best thing to Batman The Animated Series which is the crowning achievement artistically if not commercially IMHO.

Actually, some of the crap you have to do to get the trophies are my biggest complaint. I spent about twenty minutes last night trying to get one trophy. The one with the three pressure pads where you have to stand on pad 1, use the grapple boost to launch, glide around and land on pad 2, repeat for pad 3. Batman sticks to the chainlink fence? Reset, start over. It wasn't fun. It was frustrating. The one with the remote batarang that you have to do a u-turn inside the chainlink fence to go from one duct to another was a pain also. I'm up to about 350 of the 400 trophies, and I think I'll only do the trophy hunt once. Pain the the rear that there are so many.

Some of the riddler trophies were fun, I have to admit, but the ones that are very precision-based generally aren't. As Captain_Obvious mentioned, it's easy to mess them up and get frustrated.

Over exaggerating the lack of strategy a bit I see.Capt. Obvious wrote...
The point is, winning a fight is determined by how fast you press the buttons. There are times where you do bring strategy to a fight, but that's in the stealth sections of the game.
No, you could very well bring strategy into a fight. The problem is that most of the time you could also take out enemies with just your fists. It has the same problem with Assassin's Creed, in that stealth is more of a playing style.

Button-mashing is tapping the buttons of the controller rapidly. You can still follow a rythm while doing it as long as your still tapping them repeatedly.
You talked about mashing random buttons. Normally when people talk about button-mashing, they don't mean pushing buttons in a particular rhythm, they just mean pushing buttons wildly in no particular order.
But yes, the controls are a bit iffy sometimes, I can certainly agree with that. I think the problem lies mainly with the navigation and not the combat. Sometimes there are just ledges that you can't reach for no apparent reason. It's worst with Catwoman.
The point is, winning a fight is determined by how fast you press the buttons. There are times where you do bring strategy to a fight, but that's in the stealth sections of the game. The problem with stealth, however, is that most of the time, you don't even have to use it. Catwomen's final level was an exception.
Speaking of Catwomen, I feel as if she should have been better integrated in the main plot. Like I said, Batman's story was was a lot more interesting, whereas the only catch with the Catwomen episodes was that you could play as her, which loses it's charm when it becomes clear that she's just out to get some cash.
I also have a problem with Hugo Strange. According to the trailers prior to the game's release, he was suppose to be some thought-provoking villain that blamed Batman for Gotham's descent into crime, but we barely even saw the bloke until the end of the game and he's just Ras al-Ghul's follower. That guy was under-utilized.
Your not making a lick of sense. First its button mash as fast as possible but wait you your self agreed that theres a rythm to it. Now its button mash as fast as possible. Your just changing the meaning of the term button mash just so you wont be wrong.
Those who don't like how this game been getting near perfect review scores check out this one. http://www.blistered...deo-review-zgr/ It seems like the most honest review of it and its still gushing about it. So yeah I guess he got payed off by rockstead too.
No, I just wasn't sure what "button-mashing" meant because normally I define it as pressing buttons as fast as possible which is why I refrained from using that word in my last quote and instead said that my point was that, again, winning a fight is determined by how fast you press the buttons.
And, I'm not sure if the second paragraph of your post was directed to me or just anyone who thought this game was overrated, but just to clarify, I have no problem with the scores this game has been getting. I think it deserves the praise. That doesn't mean that I didn't find it overwhelming at first or that I can't pick out the flaws of the game, mainly the combat.

If anything I'll probably do it more than once. I especially like how you can mark the trophies on the map so you can come back to it later if you can't reach it now. This is especially helpful when its a catwoman trophy and your batman.

I'm waiting to get this on PC. Can't wait. I have a friend who has this on PS3, and it looks great. I almost bought it for the PS3 but I know the PC version will be superior and I didn't build this PC the for nothing
I don't think it'll be better on PC. I hate console games that are remade to play on PC... The controls just feel way too weird and awkward. Unless of course, you have a 360/PS3 controller you can hook up and play with that, then that'd be fine. I played AC2 on PC with mouse and keyboard and almost cried. It was that bad.

I have Arkham Asylum on Steam and the mouse and keyboard is just fine with it. And AC brotherhood is great on mouse and keyboard. Just cause you don't enjoy the controls doesn't mean they were bad.

A lot of people disliked them. I am non-bias and enjoy all platforms, and I prefer to play the "console-feel" games on console, and the "PC-feel" games on PC. I can understand those who play specifically on PC or on console though, maybe they cannot distinguish between the two.

Square Enix has a hit. You know the Eidos was bought out by Square Enix right? That means Enix who now controls Square and helped drive that series into the ground now controls Eidos. And as Square Enix noted the game Eidos has came out with are their hit line up.
How nice huh?
