For those of you who have seen the movie Seven Samurai by Akira Kurosawa, you understand the idea of an encampment, fortified strategically and governed so as to be easily defended.

I have always wanted such a mission in a game, Mass Effect 3 offers this opportunity.

Two types of scenario I want to see in ME3 (as well as the usual story): a defend the base mission and an ambush mission.

(Ambush) Shepherd and his team must pre plan how a convoy of enemy technology/ resources will be destroyed while en-route to a destination. Shepherd positions his troops via dialog options, gives team members strategic commands and it is up to the player to formulate the best plan while achieving the objective with the fewest casualties sustained.

(Defend the base) A reaper attack will try to capture an allied held base, Shepherd must pre position his troops via dialog options, [snipers in the tower] [engineers lay mines] [ soldiers surround the enemy] [Paragon: Only delay the enemy while we wait for reinforcements] [Renegade: Let no enemy survive]. Decisions made before the battle will affect the battle, shepherd must make decisions during the battle which also alter the course of events. Doing so Shepherd may have everyone survive, 70% of troops survive, or 30% of troops survive and one team member die as well.

I find this type of strategic considered, action, thirs person shooting style most engaging.
