Oh man.. I just started my final ME1-2 canon run before 3 once more to get myself more excited, and after starting from ME1 again, it will. It will be super emotional for me no matter how it ends. I've never been this attached to so many characters. I'm attached to almost every character in the ME saga so far. I even smile every time I start a re run through ME1 and see Nassana Dantius or Helena Blake, and I will NEVER not laugh when seeing Conrad Verner for the first time again.

Then comes the squad mates. "Do you want us to arrest you, Wrex?" "I want you to try." get's me every single time and I love knowing that scene is about to come up. I love meeting everyone for the first time knowing what they will go through, and what becomes of them in ME2.

Even if the ME universe will move on, and we will get to see where they go with this franchise after ME3 and Shepard, i'll always have these awesome memories with everyone in Shepard's life. Even the most minor of characters.

I know it will be an emotional moment when the credits roll.
I just hope they will let Shepard go after ME3 (not the universe mind you, just Shepard) and only mention him/her in future ME games. If they make a good final part now, it would be a shame not to let him/her go.

But I know as well that after the end of ME3, I am going to be so excited that I'll probably start up a new ME1 game right the next day (if I can wait that long). One good thing about all the content in the three games is that you can do that without suffering too much boring repetition.

Kappa....I sincerely doubt there will be a default "heroic sacrifice"for Shepard since Casey already confirmed post completion gameplay

By that logic, you can´t lose the war at all - which is BS. You just won´t be able to play that DLC on that playthroug =)

read my post..."default"

meaning forced upon you

yes there will probably be an heroic sacrifice ending or a grim ending but it will be perfectly avoidable.

I'm pretty sure ME3 will get me pretty good, given that I teared up at Shepard's "death" (despite knowing I came back, it still seemed pretty sad). I also get misty eyed every time I visit the wreckage of the SR1, Pressley's datapad especially.

Well apparently, according to Casey Hudson's twitter posts, the Bioware workers have gotten extremely teary-eyed at multiple scenes they've created already.

I guess it means much more to them, that their, what is it, 5 years of work is finally coming to an end, but still. This gives me high hopes for waterfalls of man-tears.

nope can't say Mass Effect has ever made me cry. FF XIII had me clapping as they pretty played some speed chess with Fate and said flipped it off. Metal Gear Solid 3 ending... Which i am shocked that no one mentioned. Eva speech, the truth about the Boss.

Got a little choked up at the end of Marvels the Siege when you realize that Loki really does love his family and Thor ALOT and that he was tired be being stuck in the Cycle of Ragnorak. The ending of Second Coming.... yeah that pretty much hit home... really seeing Scott Summers the forever emotionally repressed Cyclopes at Cable's funeral break down and just say " My Son" I swear on all that is holy is some writer gets in his head to write Cable back alive again and undo that... words will be had. The ending in Chrono Cross because its rather heartwarming.

OMG how  could  I fogret  Naruto speech  when Gaara got the Shukaku taken  out him and died   and it betting  in the Anime because the  Japeneses  VA has the right amount of rawness in his voice and the music is brillant.

I want an ending/goodbye scene akin to the Gray Havens scene at the end of the Return of the King. That was such an emotional goodbye, and really wrapped up the storyline. Now, I'm not asking for ME to recreate that scene, but something of that emotional caliber would be great. I want to have some time with the crew following the final boss. Id rather it not be, you fight final boss, and there big end credits scene. Give us 15 minutes or so of an actual scripted conclusion.

Wow. All these people who weren't brought to tears by Mass Effect at any point... I must be the queen of simpering pansies or something :(

It's funny, I have played ME since the first game came out, and I never cried before until I rolled a full renegade FemShep fairly recently. When she climbs from the rubble at the end of the first game...I dunno, it just hit me in an emotional way for some reason. Maybe because of all the horrible stuff that she had waiting for her when I imported her into ME2? :pinched:

I think there are many emotionally powerful moments in the ME games and well worthy of a good cry. I expect to shed a few tears when I play ME3. :crying: Especially if DA2 is anything to go by; I was a mess on my first playthrough (Hawke's mother), and I had already spoiled myself on the ending.

Oh dear............. I am a blubber with these things.
I was so upset on Virmire, I had to stop playing for about 30 minutes the first time and I cried my heart out leaving Ashley :'( I still pause for a moment even now........
I cried all the way through the end game of 2 the first three times I played :o
Both my husband and I cried when Voyager came home in Star Trek.............. And he doesn't cry at that stuff and don't even get me started on the last episode of Friends...... Every. D*mn. Time. Without fail.....
So given that that is my track record, I'm not expecting any different for ME3.....
Weirdly enough, DA II didn't even make me cry over Hawke's mother, but that is because I got sick of her blaming me for everything ;)

I can't say I've ever cried because of a game, but I have been shocked, surprised, and left breathless.

I don't know what those of you talking about Red Dead Redemption are on about. John Marston was way more interesting and a lot less annoying than Jack Marston. (Plus John's voice actor has a great voice.) I had the end spoiled before I played and I still felt moved.

As for Mass Effect 3, I fully expect to be left breathless, or at least moved, throughout the game. I personally hope my Shepard, after defeating the Reapers, gets to walk toward the screen with her LI and friends, with the Normandy exploding behind them. Yeah, the action movie end.

I must say I am excited but equally sad to see the Mass Effect story come to an end....it was the first real game series I actually had a vested interest ...it made me care , the characters had depth and story had some real stakes in it as oppose to the recycled RPG stories out there

It was the first game series where I would devour every morsel of news, photos or videos related to it, I read the novels, comics and bought the soundtracks to it and listened on an endless loop on my IPOD....I drawer in my dresser dedicated exclusively to Mass Effect t-shirts...these games struck a serious chord in me that I doubt any form of media will do ever again.

So while it will be sad to see the Normandy crew fight the last battle...remember folks..........YOU CAN PLAY IT OVER AND OVER! :D

First rule of entertainment: Nothing that made alot of money "Ends" unless there was some massive internal fight.

Look at Star Wars, 20 years later it comes back. Look at Halo, they didn't even make it 3 years. Ghostbusters is getting a new movie shortly, after 20 years. Syndicate, X-com, heck, Panzer General just had a game heavily derived from it released. Indiana Jones, Jurassic Park, Underworld, etc, all have movies in the works or currently filming.

You'll see Gears of War again. And I promise you, EA won't let Mass Effect end either, especially once they take a beating over the next year or two.

Not quite the point I (or others) were gettting at in relation to Mass Effect.

The point was that it will be the last time we see Shepard and (in all likelihood) her squad / crew ... there will be no more tales for us to experience whilst guiding Shepard on her bold adventures... and that is saddening (not in a bad way though.. all good things must come to an end, etc).

There is no question or doubt of another Mass Effect game, but it won't be Shepard's story anymore... Shepard will have either sauntered off into the sunset or burned in a blaze of glory when the next Mass Effect related game comes out.... but rest assure, no more Shepard & friends :crying:

That's what I (and a few others perhaps) will be emotionally affected by when ME3 ends.. not the end of a game, but the end of the story for characters we care for.

I dunno if I will get emotional because "it's the end."

I've only felt kind of sad when I completely Metroid Prime Corruption. I don't know why...there will always be Metroid.

ME 3 may get me a little choked up.

But I don't think any videogame will ever "get" me like MGS4 did. That send off was incredible.

I think I've only cried two times because of a game, and it was in the end of Kingdom Hearts I and II. *hides*

That said, BioWare games can make me really sad sometimes :(

The Mass Effect games only touched me emotionally a few times. The Virmire decision was the most emotional moment in the first game by far. Oddly, the most emotional moment for me in Mass Effect 2 was drinking Serrice Ice Brandy with Dr. Chakwas, that one gets me every time. She seems so sad, but not in a maudlin or histrionic look-at-me kind of way. And considering that it's really not hard to get me to cry (I mean, it's REALLY not hard), I'm very surprised that the games haven't managed that feat more frequently.

Personally, if Mass Effect 3 DOESN'T make me cry, sniffle, bawl, etc., on more than one occasion, I'll be disappointed. If freakin' My Little Pony can tug on my heartstrings on a regular basis, these games should be able to as well. Hopefully there will be lots of good stuff in the game, and my stockpile of Kleenex will be worth the investment. :D
