Yeah, humbly sorry again  but you gave me very nice ideas for my next engi-run; so thank you as well :P
Though Revenant .. hmm, hard to tell, it's cool if I replay my old savegame on normal to beat the suicide mission but I really don't like the gun. (some love Mordin, so I can at least hate this ****ty gun ^^)
The Mattock *uhm* I'd consider it a cheat, using it on my (new) soldier & engi run; it's a devastating rifle and make lots'o mission very easy. Same goes for the widow, so I understand your re-built engi to do other stuff besides drone+power+kill, drone+power+kill...*yawn*

Are you implying something? Just because I use Neural Shockwave for great justice while..Spamming..drone..on..Elites...:? It works really well - don't judge!

no need to be sorry ; )

So I finished Arrival and with that my run. Well I actually have to save the 20 crates and probe some planets to get the last upgrades... I was a bit lazy. But that's nothing I will upload... Double Cain and that's it.

Arrival (without Project Rho):
www.youtube.com/watch

A few words about the video: there are some rough cuts. I ran low on disk space and had to stop recording after every fight sequence to save space, so I missed the beginning of one encounter. And I wanted to keep the video small and "short", so I chopped a lot. Sorry for that.

So it's been a really fun time doing this run. There were certain fights that drove me crazy, because I simply couldn't do it the way I wanted to, but I expected that before I started this run and still had my share of fun while failing a lot.

Is this build something everyone should try? I don't know, it's certainly not the most effective build, but if you're in for the challenge: give it a try

I think I casted less than 20 drones throughout this whole run and I'm pretty sure not a single one after Horizon.
It wasn't my initial intention to play completely without drones, but besides those really tough missions, I didn't have the feeling I needed drones to be faster or more effective. You might disagree with that if you actually watch the videos, but it's how I experienced it.

And thanks to everyone who contributed with ideas, experiences, criticism and background information. I didn't have a real plan when I started this thread but there was always someone helping out with information when it was needed.

Hehe, that wasn't the point :D I currently tried/abuse (whatever) neural shockwave too, but it's hard to choose between Inc blast and neural - it sometimes feels a tiny bit of a waste ability, cause they are both the same; only the CC is way longer, but on the other hand, inc blast usually kills right away instead of CC'ing again and I love to put 'things' on fire (or ice)
I tried several special abilities but an engi usually has nearly everything, so its a hard decision and in several mission I just use some ammo power as well, depending if my squadmates haven't any useful. And I used neural shockwave for only 2/3 missions now, and my finger magically finds themself always on the inc-blast button; so it's currently hard to judge and needs longer 'testing'.

[and drone might be my 2nd most-used ability I guess ^^]

Yeah, I usually use Nshockwave followed by an Incineration blast. That works well.

I haven't used Neural Shock that much, so I had the experience that it wears off as soon as you shoot at them, have powers the same effect?

I can say from personal experience that it doesn't wear off. It does glitch out from time to time - but other powers do aswell.

Good to know : )
www.youtube.com/watch   <--- there at 0:27 happens what I mean, by now I know I should never judge any power based on the experiences I made during the Project Rho fight Oo

 It must be the same as your dominate bug. Arrival is one buggy DLC. Enemies ignore your combat drone aswell - it's really weird.

Sometimes enemies affected by Neural Shock can be shot out of Neural Shock, and not just in Arrival DLC. I once Neural Shocked a Krogan on Korlus (Recruit the Warlord mission), only to have a squadmate shoot it out almost immediately; then he shotgunned me to death.

Great job with your Engineer, CaolIla!

This Engineer has reminded me a lot of my shotgun Infiltrator.  Seriously, freezing, burning, control, it's all there.  We both make liberal use of Incineration Blast, where you froze with Full Cryo Blast I froze with Squad Cryo Ammo, where you had the occasional Overload I used 2pt Disruptor Ammo on Geth, we both had 3pt Hacking to control synthetics, and where you had Dominate to control organics I had 1pt Neural Shock (which could easily be Dominate if one preferred).

The major differences were that I didn't have to abandon my class power in Cloak (in fact it helped with the playstyle) and that I also got to run with a Viper alongside my shotgun.  If you're up for another run and really liked this Engineer, I'd say give this Infiltrator a shot.  I'm betting you'd enjoy it.

@Simbacca: Especially on a low level Dominate is a bad Neural Shock... longer cooldown and the enemy is protected ; ) And I'll not start another run right away, I'm waiting for Skyrim to arrive (I bought it in the UK, so it takes a while) so I'll be playing that for a while.
But I'm pretty sure I won't be able to resist ME for long and I never know which class and build I should take, so it's good to already have an idea, thanks : )

I know how you feel. Skyrim arrived yesterday, and I enjoy playing it - but I still have the urge to play ME.  That's probably a bad sign though.

This might be a bit [very] OT, but after seeing all those vids and I still 'do not like' (read:hate) FRAPS, what tool did yer use to do yer vids?

Cool videos. I can never get into the tech oriented classes (Engineer and Infiltrator). I know it is a shallow reason, but I just don't feel as bad ass killing people with my omni tool as I do with my mind.

I'm waiting for Skyrim to arrive

Heh that has been eating my time up too. It is really fun especially if you like messing with builds. Conjuration Bow is like the Mattock of Skyrim lol.

 And I feel more badass when using an Omni-Tool. Different strokes for different people. I just find an individual who has the technical knowhow to use tech-oriented attacks on the fly in a battle to be impressive.

I tried archery, but I found it to be mindnumbingly boring to sit back and sneak-crit for great justice on Master. Currently trying out a spellsword
