I noticed that in between each act Hawke keeps the same clothes on...
From leaving lothering to act 1, the sibling and leandra wear the same clothes for a year.
And from act 1-2 and act 2-3 hawke keeps the same outfit.
I think it wouldnt be so bad to have hawke dressed in a new set of armor after each act. And if people don't like the new gear they can just re-use their old gear thats in their bags.
I dunno I thought it was a good idea lol

Here's a tip. don't use 'lol' when trying to state a serious thought. It makes you look like a blonde bimbo cheerleader airhead.

Much like a lot of DA2, this is likely a 'Varric is telling a story' thing. How many stories do YOU know of where a huge fuss is made over clothes? It's a silly detail that most people don't care about.

Here's a tip, he didn't ask for your input on when to use "lol"

Who made you the one who decides what is silly or not, and what the majority is?

Fauxnormal is a ****ing troll. He thinks he can disrespect EVERYONE because apparently, being obnoxious is mature. He defends the game at every opportunity, without realizing CRITICISM IMPROVES THE GAMES. THE DLC IMPROVED BECAUSE OF PEOPLE'S COMPLAINTS.

IF NOBODY COMPLAINED OUR WORLD WOULD BE A LIVING HELL. Stop berating people just because you think it's 'fun' YOU ADD NOTHING.

On topic, I found the lack of different clothing over the year only noticeable when Hawke put on his fancy clothes at the Orlesian Ball.

I think he has clothes he wears over the years we never get to touch. Sadness.

Actually, from the prologue to Act 1, Hawke gets a new outfit, at least if you sided with the mercenaries.

LOL@ Myusha. How very cute you are.

Stupid, but cute.

@GSSAGE- true indeed. But I hold by what I said; it's a Varric thing. He doesn't focus on cloths because it's not a big part of the story.

When a new act starts, it makes sense to have Hawke in the last armor/robe worn in the last scene of the last act - there isn't a way for the game to randomly select something from your inventory and switch out your equipped outfit, and because Hawke's outfits are found or acquired, they typically have certain stats/requirements associated with them that the PC may or may not meet.

The closest thing that resembles a game-generated new outfit, that I can recall, is when you first visit the estate and have the bedroom cut scene. Hawke then appears in his/her lounge-about-the-house robe.

And as far as Leandra and the sibling wearing the same outfit in the Prologue and Act 1, they are still refugees at that point and not yet part of Kirkwall's higher society. They're struggling to get coin - so they won't be rolling in a lot of finery. Plus, their outfits are part of their characterization. Image IPB

Heres a tip. It doesnt make her look stupid. Complaining about her makes you look stupid.

and who says most dont care about it. I think most do care about it as that is usually a a thing people mention in their talks about likes and dislikes in DA2. and why not? after all it is 7 years in the same clothes for most of the characters. and you can just blame varric  telling a story thing. That always seems to be the scapegoat for many of  the story problems or things that are messed up.

How do you define a serious statement? He is just sharing his opinion on the board.
Did Bioware community manager post the rule that has an indication about "lol" is not permitted to be use when someone try to make a statement?

Don't empower youself when you are not in the rightful position from the authority of Bioware community board.

It's a simple matter of cost vs benefit.

Clothing models in a game don't materialize out of thin air. Artists have to create them and modelers have to put them into the game. That all costs money. The developer can't do every single thing they'd like and keep the cost of the game reasonable, so some choices have to be made about what to include and what to exclude. Excluding a full wardrobe for Hawke is an obvious choice here.

DA2 is like the Middle Ages, where hardly anyone bathes. They only ever got new clothes, when their old ones fell apart.

ignore the trolls ;)

it's not new armour that bothers me, it the normal everyday wear. You'd think after something as terrifying as a blight there'd be new fashions bursting out all over the continent ... not that anyone would tell with me, I still want to wear what I wore when I was 18 back ie jeans, plims and rugby shirts, but I see that others change their styles.

a change of lounging wear after three years would make sense, it would be nice to see your friends in other casual kit too eg Anders without his coat & you never know, Isabela might wear more!

I'd like to see them sporting clothes, hair and faces that weren't all clones, but I can see why that happens.

Probably close to the mark, in all seriousness.

And as noticed up-thread, any complains can be covered with the old "Varric story telling" line.

Of course, since they did a whole cutscene in one spot with Hawke in new clothes, they COULD have done it.  Just one more thing they chose not to do.  After all, who looks at clothes?  Who looks at all those books?  That kind of stuff interferes with "awesome"

Well done op, your insight into the obvious inspires us all, I bet you didn't even know that the majority of the levels are copy and paste.
