I feel like an idiot having to ask this, especially since Google isn't turning up the answer (which tells me not many people have this problem), but... how the hell do you cast a deva summon once you get it? I chose it for Anomen. But even after resting, the special ability button is still faded out. It's not under his memorized spells or item abilities, not that I expected it to be. The description of the ability says it's a quest spell, but when I search for "deva quest" all I get back are references to some Longer Road mod.
Incidentally, what decides when you gain access to these spells? They opened up for Anomen at level 22, for Aerie at 14/14. So my presumption right now is that they're for clerics and become available based on total experience, given that both are clerics but Aerie gained hers when she hit 14 as a mage. At first I panicked and thought maybe I had been skipping the chance for other people to gain these spells, but then I realized you can't accept a level up until you pick one. :x

It's a new spell for him to memorize. Once you have invested a spell slot in Summon Deva (and rested) you will see this spell along with the others.
You get HLAs when you have a total of 3 000 000 XP (or, in case of a dualclass, once your active class has acquired this much XP)
Edit: Multiclass Casters (like Aerie) will also not gain any HLAs for their casting class until the class is capable of actually using these HLAs which requires the highest spell level (level 7 for clerics/druids and level 9 for mages/sorcerers)

Ah, there it is. Balls to it saying "Level: Quest".
Thanks. I was hoping it would be something extra, but I guess this is probably a better spell for Anomen to cast than Gate...

The quest thing (as well the the spell level 10 for mage HLAs) is a carryover from PnP. It doesn't mean anything in BG2 though.

Deva = bad. There is a party wide limit of 1(one) for an "angel" (or whatever) type of summons. And the mage "angel", the Planetar, is in every way better.
