To compare and contrast upon the contenders for a moment:

Dragon Age 2: Absolutely stunning visuals, an awesome story, and gameplay that slaps you repeatedly if you aren't paying attention. With a stick. Oh, and the scene with Isabela in the hot spring... :o

New Vegas: My pick. New Vegas is like Fallout 3 done over, but with all the stupid taken out and replaced with bugs that got stamped out slowly in patches. That is to say, it oozes awesome for every pore -now-, but at launch it borderlined on unplayable. It has a solid story with choices that actually matter, some of the most realistically dubious grey choices I've ever seen in gaming (better than Origins, I daresay, and I loved the hell out of Origins), and everything that made Fallout 3 awesome in the first place.

To be honest, -this- is how Dragon Age 2 should have been built. They already had an engine, skip the art redesign and use the entire development cycle fleshing out -content-.

The Witcher 2: I don't want to seem like an outright hater, because the game was more disappointingly mediocre and bland than outright terrible, but it does -not- have a place on this list.

I agree.

Oh, how clever. A 'fixed' post. One that doesn't even work very well. Dragon Age 2 didn't have solid visuals, difficult gameplay, or an awesome story. The visuals ranged from bland to Nintendo 64 era (the entire demo portion), the game could be won simply by smashing attack over and over, and there was no Isabella sexy scene.

And I think we've hit the end of this thread's useful lifespan.
