Normally I sell the reapers cugdel for the 339G (over 600G with Dwarven Noble selling to Gorim) but this time I'm using it.

Recently I picked a mage - I've never picked mage before. I'm actually enjoying it, but need to make sure to bring along a rogue for chests. The entire beginning part at Ostagar is such a pain in the a.s.s. if you cannot open locked chests.

Playthroughs on other xbox profiles prove that despite playing other origins and classes i am most at home with a noble human rogue DW with a soft spot for leiliana and if it were an option Wynne.

2nd Play: This was my favorite character, a Male Dwarf Commoner Rogue, Assassin/Duelist. I used a dagger and shield and focused solely on the rogue abilities and blasted cunning. Aggain, unconventional, but this little guy was a tank. His defense was through the roof, and on top of that h was dealing whopping amounts of damage.
3rd play: Male Human Noble Warrior, Champion/Reaver, sword and shield tank. On this playthrough I wanted to make a warrior who was essentially the opposite my first character. I also wanted to avoid using Alistair, and really wanted to experiment with the reaver spec. Really fun character, I realized here that tanks are fun as hell.
So those are my three full playthroughs, but I've started quite a few others, as I always do. In this game especially I'm not a huge fan of mages, however, thats how I am in all RPG's. But I have two mages I've started and never finished, a Female Elf Arcane Warrior, and a Male Human Blood Mage. I got to like level twelve with both of them thn just got bored. With mages the routine is just tedious, in my opinion. I haven't played this game for quite a while until recently, when I picked up playing my human noble warrior-archer.
As for further playthroughs, I'm gonna do a Dwarf Noble at some point (which I actually finish), and a city elf (which I actually finish haha). I still need to do a two-handed warrior, and another rogue, probably a duel wielder.

I've really only played as mages since I love magic so much. I started playing as a female human warrior at one point, but I missed magic and went back to being a mage fairly quickly despite liking being able to use a sword. I tend to leave most of the healing to the other mages.
My female elf mage is an arcane warrior specializing in arcane primal spells, though she dabbles in healing and telekinesis. I love all the destruction I can dole out when I play as her. Her first spells were from the cold branch and I mastered fire next before moving on to lightning.
I just started with my male human mage today and so far all his spells besides the arcane bolt are either mind blast (got mind blast, force field and telekinetic weapons) or electric (lightning and shock). I plan to master the mind blast and lightning branches then arcane spells before moving on to healing as well. I want him to be an arcane warrior and spirit healer.

I always go for rogue, so I can open the chests and doors without having to drag Leliana everywhere.

1st playthrough - male elf mage, spirit healer/shapeshifter/Keeper, Creation specialist. Long story short, this was an import into Thedas of a druid/healer OC, and as he's never had any interest in using his powers to hurt people (even getting him to learn Stinging Swarm and Arcane Bolt was rather a chore) there was absolutely no way he'd even be interested in anything beyond Creation magic. Thankfully I had Morrigan and Wynne for damage spells, and Wynne for backup healing. I find that bringing an established OC into a new universe is a great way to explore it; the character has his/her own voice and views, and being able to tell how s/he will react to given situations somehow frees me as a player to explore the more in-depth aspects of the universe.
2nd playthrough - female Dalish rogue, ranger/duelist (? I think). I wanted something different for my second character, and went with rogue because of the lockpicking/trap detection exp bonuses from the early game. (Small, I know, but in the early levels especially, every bit of exp counts.)
Those are the two I've managed to complete so far, though I have a few others in the works ![]()

I've always used mages as my first choice, but I recently went back playing this game, and gave a Warrior a try. Besides Noble Mages are not possible ![]()

What do you mean not possible?

Not possible without mods.
It seems like you can do anything with mods. I'd make the switch, but I'm too used to console playing.

Mage or Rogue. Imo, being a Warrior in Origins blows. Maybe there are mods for the PC version so warriors don't get knocked out so much, but it gets aggravating, and the one time I played as a warrior (Male Dwarf Noble), I just the difficulty setting from Normal to Casual (granted).
Since before this year I didn't play on anything more than Normal, I usually choose Rogue, since I always have Morrigan in my party. Besides the difficulty level, I just find Warriors...boring. And since (at least for PS3) you can only be a Cirlce Mage in Origins, I usually only pick mage 1 out of every three playthroughs.
Two current playthroughs: Female Dalish Elf Rogue (primarily archer, since I'm playing on Hard), and Male Elf Magi (the only class I'd be willing to play as on Nightmare, tbh).
For specializations, I almost always go with Ranger for Rogues, and just switch up the second one (usually Assassin or Duelist, for the stat boosts), and I don't remember what I chose in Awakening. When I'm a mage, I always choose Spirit Healer as my first spec, because I don't like making Morrigan a healer (rather have her as DPS or support), and the second is either Blood Mage or Arcane Warrior. Tbh, really don't get the Shapeshifter spec, since the few times I've had Morrigan shape into the spider or bear, she doesn't last long. O_o
