That's bull.

There will be many people from BSN who will play it often.
And that's only a fraction.

Who tells you this crap? A fortune cookie? this co-op will be sucky, mark my words. Bioware has no fcking idea how to develop a co op. And here they are trying in half the time. This should be a laugh.

And who told you this? Your fortune cookie?

And if you know so much about developement, you will also know it won't take 10 months to brainstorm. Not to mention, June 1st 2010 is when the press discovered the job ad, no one knows exactly how long it's been there. Or perhaps the ad was for a position that had to be replaced while the MP campaign was already under developement. A previous dev may have been fired or moved to another company. One thing is clear, MP in ME3 was on the table since a long time.

I doubt that one guy is doing all the work and decides the flow of the work, so it's very possible that they were working on the MP mode before that and simply had to hire extra manpower.

Every other game that is released next March-April that has a glued on multiplayer mode... which is lots. I guess EA likes if even 100 people see "1-4 players" printed on the back and going "OMG got to buy this homies"

Well apparently ever since 2007 Bioware has had some sort of grudge with Gears of War.

I'm guessing back then Bioware believed Mass Effect would become a real big Xbox 360 title or something to that effect. You know a flagship title for the 360. Except it didn't and another game using the unreal engine from a new developer managed to sell about twice as many copies as Mass Effect did. That being Epic games with their Gears of War.

Basically what happened:

Bioware:"Mass Effect will be the greatest console game ever! Our cinematic conversations, Sci-Fi setting, and TPS RPG hybrid will make us unstoppable!"
Epic:"Nope!"
Bioware:"WHAT?! How can this be! How is this 6 hour TPS with Multiplayer selling better?! I who made Baldur's Gate! I who made KOTOR! The greatest games of all time! This cannot be!
Microsoft:"LOL whatever Bioware."

*From the Dark Shadows a figure appears to console the weeping Bioware*
:bandit:

Shadowy Figure:"I can help you Bioware. I will help you topple Gears of War and destroy all other RPGs..."
Bioware:"Really?"
Shadowy Figure:"Oh yes. All I ask is you become my humble servant..."
Bioware:"What is thy bidding my master?"
Shadowy Figure:"Go and create a true TPS and take your revenge against Microsoft and Epic!"

*2 years later...*

Bioware:"I have done as you asked master."
Shadowy Figure:"Bioware... you failed to outsell Gears of War again. You have also failed to outsell those other RPGs like Fallout."
Bioware:"Forgive me master!"
Shadowy Figure:"If you wish to destroy Gears... you must become more like Gears! You will add a Co-Op Multiplayer feature like their Horde Mode. Only with Multiplayer can you ever hope to defeat Gears."
Bioware:"As you command master."

The answer is in your username.
Also, Dead Space 2 multiplayer & Splinter Cell multiplayer. Where are they? That's right. No one plays them!

I agree with this statement and despite it being a separate studio, I will still argue that it's a waste
Unless they do something really cool by having Shepard and his team interact occasionaly the co-op charecters who just won't be recycled NPC models. That would take some work. As opposed to simple missions of going through corridors and shooting Geth.

Solid arguements about cheetos and degrading anyone that plays multiplayer games? Right...

When you make some arguements that include something that don't involve conjecture that has no basis outside of your own fantasy world, then I'll bother reading them. I might even respond with something nice. Also, I never stated that MP was going to me SO AMAZING. I said you're attacking people just because they don't agree with you. This crowd that has decided to bust into BSN and start demanding that everyone else has to bow down to their wishes is beyond arrogant. I have no idea how people like you can even function in society if you start raging anytime someone mentions something you don't like, yet can completely ignore if you wish to.

umadbro?

PS : You should look up what fanboy actually means before trying to argue against it.

Honestly, my comments reagrding multiplayer come from veteran players of Call Of Duty, Battlefield & Unreal Tournament. They are sick of the servers being invaded by morons and children who constanly insult them for playing the game a ceratin way or using certain weaponry which the n00bs deem unfair.

What Hell Guys they gave us the multiplayer just for pure fun and there is no need saying " oh they wasted resources on it", Personally I think it will be interesting because CoD or Battlefield or any game that has multiplayer  does not have this kind of :Odeep game universe and it will do us good before the film comes out and then we can debate if they resources on that.

This is just me saying stuff please do not slag me off.

Cool story bro. No really. Very Star Wars with just a hint of Harry Potter. Most likely true.

FYI Baldur's Gate and NWN already had co-op and it was very well implented.
How about doing some research instead of talking out of your a"".

BG and NWN were designed to be "multiplayer".

Me3 was designed to be a single player experience, then at the final quarter some moron decided it made sense to slap some co-op capture the points nonsense on it.

No matter how much I may like or dislike MP in ME3, I've just proved it to you MP was not a last-quarter idea, it was the at least a first-quarter one.

Am I the only one REALLY looking forward to playing through a minor sci-fi adventure in the Mass Effect universe with 4 other actual people? Multi-player Mass Effect was a great idea a long time coming. I hope they have at least one survival mission to defend some refugees from hordes of reaper husks.

If you aren't going to read my arguments, I'm just going to stop giving them. How's that?

And wtf, fanboy? i'm a fanboy for protesting against a Bioware feature? What logic is this? this must be the same backwards logic that makes you believe MP is going to be SO AMAZING. OMG CO-OP, CAPTURE DA POINTS. YAY!!!!! You guys are easily impressed. i could release news about blinking lights and this forum would be talking about it for days.

Hmm, little boy.

me1 and me2. appeal 2 singleplayer player. m3 y jump ship?

multiplayer fans not interested in rpg game.

why waste time?

Who is attacking who? Again, you must have problems with comprehension. THis lovely lady presented her argument in a kind and gentle manner (Much kinder than I would have) and within MINUTES, this pro mp mob comes out with their pitch forks and knives going "ooga booga MP ooga booga"

You need to start re-attending English class,

I've been playing Battlefield since 1942 first released and I'll be in Battlefield 3.  I know the kinds of people that play the games these days. I usually make it a point to ban them from the servers that I run, as well. While that may be relevant there, it will probably not have an effect the co-op here. You're (hopefully) not going to be forced to play with certain people because the matchmaking system refuses to stick you in a different game. If Bioware doesn't implement anything to give you some sort of control over your own co-op games, then I'll be pitching a fit right along side you.

OH RIGHT. Let me get this straight. "hiring" = INSTANT START ON MULTIPLAYER. let me clue you guys into how the development process works.

Hiring -> Brainstorming -> development. It's not instanteous.

And still less than a year is not enough for any game.

And if you know so much about developement, you will also know it won't take 10 months to brainstorm. Two words. Broader appeal.

I don't think EA would envision competing with Battlefield 3 and CoD, there may be some peripheral overlap, but the underlying characteristics of the segments are divergent and they are released in different fiscal quaters.

I could go into more detail regarding segmentation process, life cycle, perceptual mapping, revenue margins, marketing mix, IP position, distribution, advertising, promotional venue, unit pricing, economics and quantitative analysis. But, I won't.

1) No internal data to draw conclusions from, making it entirely hypothetical.
2) Multiplayer inclusion has been on EA's agenda for a while now, I don't think it has so much to do with competition. Online passes and the second hand market are a more likely, considering they appear to have lost on the piracy issue.
3) I'd bore you all to tears

Finally, the multiplayer appears fairly good, seems to be an optional part without damaging the flow of the SP campaign. I'm happy to wait and see how thing play out at the moment as the details are still rather vague.

But how good is it compared to those other games that do it much better, I mean bungie had like 9 years to perfect Halos MP, gears of war had to 2 previous games to go by, and im expected to believe Bioware will make an awsome MP  to the likes of those games there first try? along with having my shepards choices have actual
consequences in ME3 when mass effect 2 showed how weak they are/were.

ummm lets see multiple Bioware employee's have stated (and tweeted) that the SP campaign was done and fully playable (maybe not voice acted and all the final textures but thats just the VA getting time to do it  and replacing file names in code) in Dec of 2010.

So not fully done? I'm not reading the rest.

You know what I really don't get, a lot of "hardcore" BSN fans are complaining about the addition of MP, yet some of Bioware's best SP titles have had MP included. Does BG 1 and 2 ring any bells, both very emotional and moving titles and they including a multiplayer aspect to it as well. It never took anything away from the SP, at least in my opinion and overall was a great experience, still is today.

I'm still worried about this feature, but I'm also very excited because it still seems interesting and worth a shot. Personally, I'm only looking forward to the SP, but I'm open to the idea of playing the multiplayer and seeing what it brings to the experience.
