It was a possibility, yes. I posted about it some time ago, but I did a pitch for an Alistair DLC along with Leliana's Song. I pictured it as kind of a Grey Warden “Easy Company” thing, playing the rookie Alistair in his first few months with Duncan. Would have loved to write it, but it takes a lot to line up all the resources for these things. Maybe elements of it will poke up somewhere else.
So, sorry for the tease, but we do know the appreciation for the character. Oh boy, do we know.
Ahhh, you make me want to cry reading that. I was sooooooo wishing for an Alistair DLC! I wanted almost exactly what you describe there. I wanted to see Alistair as a Templar with the story following his joining Duncan and seeing some of what heppened back then. Why oh why did boring, annoying "worse French accent ever" Leliana get a DLC and not Alistair? I am going away to sulk now.
I will certainly be buying this if I can find it online somewhere.

The dragon fanboy in me is squeeing so hard right now.
I don't mind the variables regarding Alistair as he's too good to drop just because a few fanboys will get a little pissy the comic cannon doesn't match up with match up with theirs. He's a great character that shouldn't be wasted on that.
Anyway, doesn't it seem a bit contrived that these three particular characters just happen to meet?
No, considering Alistair turns up in Kirkwall for one reason or another. Or.... for another.
In each scenario in DAII, Isabela and Varric meet Alistair or at least can meet him. They definitely meet a drunk Alistair. Warden Alistair and King Alistair are dependant on the player.
Alistair doesn't show up in DA2 if he was killed at the Landsmeet.

I mean, it's not like you saw his execution. Maybe Anora locked him up in a tower and kept him on a diet of cheese.
Heck, considering it happens off-screen he has a more reasonable claim to life than other characters you get to kill yourself.

Great, Alistair left my warden behind to go romping around antiva with Isabella
No, he left your warden for Varric.
Can you blame him? I mean just look at that face.

on the other, goddamnit no more isebella Dx
not gonna lie, i am going to be a bitter, bitter fangirl if she sleeps with Alistair. All the work we ladies had to put in and that **** gets a romp with him by just wagging her eyebrows (and other lady bits) will make me have an angry panda face.
it's weird that this will come out on my mom's bday too. =/ i shouldn't buy things for myself on her bday.

Eh...the title is a title. I'm more curious to see some of the actual art from the comic. Lord knows the last Dragon Age comic was a disaster. Hopefully this one is decent.

Buying it directly from Dark horse's website I imagine, at least when it actually shows up on the site. (can't seem to find it on there as of right now.)

Doesn't say much really- seems the first issue is Alistair getting off the boat in Antiva, meeting up with Isabela and Varric and doing something involving the crows. Seems it'll be coming out every other week, with the first issue out on the 22nd.

you know, it's a shame that DAII Alistair couldn't look more like the comic version's Alistair.
Well, (as far as I know) we've only seen the cover. Usually the cover art is done by somebody else than whoever does the actual art in the comic. So we don't yet know how everyone will look in the actual comic.

I do admit, I can see Anora doing this as a way to try and quell rebellions if they ever arise in the future. If the population of Ferelden were to find out that she murdered the last Theirin heir, I could definitely see a civil war happening. Anora herself states that to some people the Theirin bloodline is the most important thing of all.
So she may have simply lied to the Warden about having Alistair executed, but really he is locked up somewhere. It's not like Anora hasn't lied before.
