Obviously, they should have made the story with Loghain instead.shumworld wrote...

And MTV posted a synopsis of the story:
It’s unusual for a king to embark on a dangerous quest himself rather than send an emissary, but King Alistair Therein has caught wind of a rumor big enough, and personal enough, that he is compelled to investigate—though not alone. With deadly, wisecracking mercenaries Isabella and Varric by his side, Alistair travels to a city of assassins to learn the truth about his kingdom and his own reign!
So I think it's safe to assume that this story is about King Alistair.
I'm calling it now: the big revelation is that MARIC LIVES! Also, dragons are getting smarter.

Why does something tell me there's a connection between dragons and the Witches of the Wilds?
Because the descriptions for the comics have pretty much said as much?
I mean, we know Flemeth can turn into a dragon, Morrigan at minimum wants the soul of an Old God (dragon) and then here we have either Morrigan or Flemeth or some new Witch of the Wilds doing something with a dragon.
Nevermind that the cover art for that third issue has the Witch of the Wild's hand all warped, which may be an allusion to the original concept art for Flemeth for DA2, which likewise had her arm looking all dragon like.

I didn't have Alistair killed, but he's not Ferelden's king in any of my games. I don't like him as king, and I think that it's irritating as crap that as king he would go wandering off on some quest instead of taking care of Ferelden like he's supposed to. And if it turns out that Maric faked his death, or decided not to return after having been declared dead, or any other form of abandoning Ferelden, too, that'll be infuriating.

That might not be so far-fetched. Dragons actually once prospered all over the continent when the Old Gods ruled.thats1evildude wrote...
Wouldn't it be funny if Flemeth's ultimate goal is to re-establish dragons as the grand rulers of all Thedas?
"Dragon Age," indeed.

Alistair wouldn't leave the throne on a whim. If he's going on a mission, there's a damn good reason for it.
If Maric faked his death, I suspect it has something to do with the promise he made to Flemeth long ago.

If either one of them has a good reason... well, I'll believe it if I see it.

I think you're overestimating Alistair. This is the guy who demanded the throne just to get revenge on one guy.thats1evildude wrote...

Keep in mind that he is one of the most capable warriors in Thedas. If the mission carries a high level of danger, he might be one of the few people in Thedas who can actually succeed at it.

Bah, it was hardly that simple. Also, you forgot to mention that Alistair is "the guy" who will sacrifice himself to save the life of a friend/the love of his life.
Anyways, I put Alistair on the throne in my canon game, so I'm glad to hear this Alistair is also the king of Ferelden.

Sketches
Not bad- Alistair doesn't really look much like AListair though. And Varric looks a bit tall for a dwarf. Plus, whats up with his knee armor? Did he steal that off Flemeth?
And judging by the title of this picture:

Flemeth is indeed in the comic. Only question is if she's the only Witch of the Wilds or if there is another? Considering there are a couple other designs for dragons, maybe thats the big secret- that the Witches of the Wild can shapeshift into dragons/are dragons?

Learning that the WotW's can all shapeshift into dragons wouldn't be a surprise as they're all supposedly very good at shapeshifiting. And that also doesn't explain anything about the inherent "nature" of dragons, which is supposed to be the reveal. Gaider promised we'd learn a "surprising truth" about dragons. The Witches all turning into them would not explain anything about real dragons.Brockololly wrote...

So yeah, it seems likely that Flemeth and her ilk are all dragons taking the shape of humans.
One little thing, why has Flemeth's dragon look changed again? The head and tail-spikes are different from DA2. Bioware really needs to find a proper design and stick to it.
