I just checked for the final issue to purchase over at Darkhorse and it's not available. Why? Shouldn't this be out today?

Edit, opps, sorry just saw the 5/02/2012 publication date which is tomorrow, my bad.

Just read the description of issue 6 on Dark Horse's site:

After so many miles, so many betrayals and deaths, King Alistair’s quest to find his lost father, King Maric, has brought him here, to a showdown with a witch and the dragons she consorts with, a battle that will reveal the shared past of Maric and the witch—and set the course of Alistair’s future!

* The shocking conclusion!

Showdown with dragons, plural? So either Alistair will battle Yavana or Flemeth probably makes a surprise appearance? Its Dragon Age, so I'm anticipating an underwhelming cliffhanger ending that provides little in the way of resolution but simply teases.

That description kinda makes me worry about how issue 6 will turn out.

It'll probably be some other witch though. I doubt Alistair will go up against Flemeth

Apparently it might cause raging. But, look: idlehands1.blogspot.ca/2012/05/dark-horse-presents-dragon-age-those.html

What next, is he going to go to Par Vollen afterwards and have a Qunari Death Stare match against the Ariqun?

...actually, that'd be pretty awesome.

I'm starting to get the feeling that it will never end though. I mean, the issues so far have been interesting -- though as I said, issue 6's description makes me worry -- but there comes a time when you have to give closure. So hopefully it's not going to be a series of "To be continued!" type things.

No, he eventually travels to the Black City to confront the Maker about the fate of his father. This conspiracy goes right to the top! :P

Well, no, I'm not really mad I just wanted an excuse to post that gif. I'm more amused at this than anything. Like I just posted, its Dragon Age and BioWare so of course they're not going to resolve anything. It'll just be teased along until nobody cares anymore and it loses any momentum.

"Thank you Alistair! But Maric is in another castle!"

On the plus side, the presumed cover of "Those Who Speak" (connection to "Silent" Grove?) has decent art of Alistair.

Not sure what to make of those creepers groping the lady in the background portrait though.

Looks like some sort of representation of the Black City to me. Didn't Gaider say it was time to start answering some questions? :pinched:

They only seem intent on "answering" questions with even more questions. Its beyond tiresome at this point as so many of these once interesting storylines never seem like they have any forseeable conclusion or big payoff. They just keep getting dragged on, puttering about.

I think it will look like this:

Maric is unique, so Yavana able to perform his task assigned by the Flemeth. Probably associated with dragons. But a group of cultists kidnap Maric, wanting to use it in a ritual. Control of dragons? Maybe.

The action will take place in the Tevinter Imperium.

I had a feeling this would happen. You get swept on an amazing adventure, but don't get any closure. I just hope history does not repeat itself, again with DA3.

I 'm glad there's another comic , they're cheap and they get published pretty fast.
And i mean ,we're gonna get a look at Tevinter!More Alistair , Isabella and Varric!
More Dragons mysteries!
I sense something about old gods , maybe some insight on the blight :)
Yablabla (the flemeth wanabe , i can't seem to remember her name) said something about dragon being necessary to Thedas , like they were its blood or something...

I understand that the questions never been answered gets boring but if it deepens the mysteries in a smart way , i'm ok with it.

Wow - I feel really differently about episode 6, not even a little rage-y at all.

I enjoyed every page of it and for me there was sufficient closure for the story at this point, I mean the trip to the Silent Grove was wrapped up and the next part of the journey was established.

I was really surprised at Alistair’s actions in the climactic scene, I didn’t expect him to do *that* at all.  It was kind of a ‘Badass Alistair’ moment, which as an unashamed Alistair fangirl I found very cool.

Actually, at this point I don’t much care if David forgets about writing DA3 at all, so long as he keeps churning out another instalment in the heroic tales of Alistair and friends – I’m happy!

PS – Ok, maybe I’d care….just a little  Posted Image

Hah! Last panel was the bestest >:D.

I haven't been able to find anything on the new comic except the exact same article posted on various sites. I really hope the new one will also be digital. I won't be pleased if I have to go out hunting for a physical comic... -_- .

:( This is the only one out of six that I *did* feel even slightly ragey about. (But not very.)

But, I do love me a cliffhanger. I think I'm getting the idea of what might come next. Maybe.

I'm in for the next ones.

Yeah, I guess...but considering things like this that predate DA2 I was expecting we'd see Tevinter in a game or DLC long before a comic book.

PS. Orlais. Pfft. I voted Par Vollen. But, yeah, Tevinter is a big one. (And certainly one I'm interested in and more than comics, too.)

Good ending. Badass Alistair determined to be King and seek vengence.

Seems to me one of the reasons he slew Yvana was that he recalled how he'd been used previously by Morrie. I had always argued he must have been pretty traumatised by that so it's logical I should pick this up here. Yvana, in the same vein, also attempted to play on what she thought was his weakness, his unwillingness to be king, he obviously wasn't having any of that...

But what do other readers think?

Bah.

Not surprised by the "to be continued," but this "blood of Calenhad" nonsense has my knickers in a twist.

IMO, one of the best genre subversions in DAO was that Alistair was not necessarily a good king, despite his parentage. If you don't harden him, he's frankly a lousy king - and he knows it. Although blood has power in the DA universe, bloodline doesn't count for much, unless you're dealing with a special case of a spell attuned to a bloodline (e.g., the spell hiding the Lights of Arlathan in 'Witch Hunt,' the spell in 'Legacy.')

Why the beep should dragons care about Calenhad? They lived long before him; he's just one dinky human ruler in one dinky human nation on the butt-end of Thedas.

Bah.
