Okay, has anyone else noticed that in Act 1 when you're doing the birthright quest, the Amell estate has this huge cellar/basement set-up, and how if you look at the map, the estate actually looks pretty big (although you can't really see the whole map), yet when you move into the estate in act 2, the estate seems to have shrunk, and there's absolutely ZERO access to this cellar?  What happened?

The cellar was closed off, locked up, made inaccessible because nasty things liked there. A certain scrolls quest will confirm that.

Plus, it probably had mildew.

Hybris rented it from Hawke.

It also helps prevent Anders from breaking in and stealing Hawke's underwear. Again.

I'm having a Merrill moment, which scrolls quest are you referring to?

Just out of curiosity though: (this may be a very stupid question, but I'm going to ask it any way because I have no modding experience) What is the possibility of making a mod that expands the Amell Estate?

I'd be happy with a mod that just puts some doors on the walls to create the illusion of the estate being bigger.

I know, right!?  It just feels so small.  It's more like a very fancy townhouse than an estate.

And I just noticed that up on the second floor landing in front of Hawke's bedroom, if you look outside those windows at a certain angle, you can see a small balcony with a what I'm assuming is a griffon statue, and flower pots, yet when I looked around outside, I saw no reference to them.  Wtf?

The cellar is just the cellar/mansion map that's reused throughout the game. The Hawke estate is a unique map.

That's all that is. Case in point, Sebastien's Act 2 quest takes place in the same map as the Act 1 Hawke map. They just close off certain spots to make their individual maps for quests.

But the base Hawke's Estate is unique.

They reused maps sometimes to the point of complete bat**** nonsense. There are multiple times in the game where you can go from one location to another and it be the same map with roughly the same enemy spawning zones.

It would be nice to renovate the cellar as your bat-cave with trophies and armor racks and an armored griffon mount. Unfortunately you're not welcome in Kirkwall anymore so you'll need to use some red lyrium to make your house into a floating mansion.

See thats where you go all Dr. Doom and conquer Kirkwall, and make yourself Monarch for Life.
