ignore it and hope it goes away

Close.  I intend to simply ignore it.  The multiplayer cheerleaders say it isn't necessary to Shepard's story so I won't use it.  Simple.

And that's the way many should look at it if you don't want to play MP.  By this point MP is in and Bioware suddenly throwing it to the curb wouldn't do anything (and would be very unrealistic and stupid thing to do).  No one is forcing anyone to hit the Mass Effect: Galaxy of War button on the main screen.  It shouldn't bother anyone that people are playing an MP feature and using rewards from it (which can be obtained with SP play) in their singleplayer playthroughs.

My plans? I'm going to get a couple of my dudebros and we're going to own some people over live, play all night at the frat house and just keep on living. Can't wait :P

I'm not going to use it at all. I didn't and don't want it, so I'm simply going to ignore it. If indeed its inclusion has no effect on SP, then that should be plenty sufficient.

So what will the majority of players play? Out of Humans, Turians, Salarians, Krogan, Drell, Batarians, Volus (Doubt it), I think I will be seeing a LOT of Krogan Berserkers...

I wanna try Turians, then Asari, then Krogan. Maybe Salarians after that. I'm eager to see the level of customization we have though. No use in running around having the same armor or face other people have.

Krogan Vanguard all the way, baby! When I want a silly class I'll make a Krogan Infiltrator.

< Type of guy that is not afraid to jump head first into the fray so Soldier, Sentinel, and or Vanguard for me.

Asari and Turian for myself thanks. Krogan only interest me for their tanking possibility. I want to be able to rely solely on myself and not whoever is playing with me. My logic is if they can't take me down then we can't lose. (Can't touch me)

Depends on the customization options when creating co-op characters.
I'll be playing vanguard that's for sure.
Probably asari or human.

I'll definitely go with an Infiltrator first. I hope they keep a form of cloaking in the MP.

As for species, I think I will probably do either a Turian or Asari.

Ignore it until having completed the story with my main Shepards.

Then once I've had my fill of the story, I'll give it a go for the combat. :)

Going to ignore it the first time, probably playing a few rounds solo when I'm on my second or third playthrough (might play around with the multiplayer character creator sooner though, just to see how customizable the characters will be).

I'd like to play it with friends, but getting my friends to play anything is like herding cats.

"SC II? No thanks, we don't practice enough!"
"Borderlands? Sorry, I'm playing LoL with my gf"
"LoL? No, no, we're playing HoN"

"Sure, we can try getting BG to work!"
*later*
"Man, this doesn't work at all! D="

If I end up playing at all it will be with an Asari. So maybe Adept, or Vanguard if that's an option.

I cancelled my preorder, going to wait for reviews and a drop in price.

Multiplayer, imo, is immersion breaking, takes significance away from Shepard, will be a shootfest against waves of baddies and has zero place in the Mass Effect trilogy.

How does something completely separate from the SP campaign break you immersion?  You need never actually play the MP portion of the game if you so choose.

sympathyforsaren wrote...

How?  Again, the SP game is separate and still as focused on Shepard as the first two games.

sympathyforsaren wrote...

How do you know that?  It could be a series of objective driven missions, rather than a ME version of Horde/Firefight.

Thats funny because it seems to have one Image IPB

I, on the other hand, am really happy that it makes Shepard less significant.

Seriously, Shepard is one of the biggest Mary Sues in gaming history.

Shepard is supposed to be everyone's fantasy.... the term mary sue should be stricken from the English language. It's a vague concept.
