I cancelled my preorder, going to wait for reviews and a drop in price.
Multiplayer, imo, is immersion breaking, takes significance away from Shepard, will be a shootfest against waves of baddies and has zero place in the Mass Effect trilogy.
Oh look it's that word again.
I wish people would use it properly, say if they are commenting on something a character says in a game which breaks the fourth wall, but "multiplayer is immersion breaking"? Really?
The way I see it (and it actually helps immersion) is that I have my Shepard, and lets just say 3 million people buy ME3, and every single one of those people play co-op. That would mean I have my Shepard doing his/her bit fighting the Reapers while in the wider scale there's these 3 million other soldiers fighting against the threat too which just makes the Reaper threat so much more like it's threatening massive numbers of people.
Individual perspective. What's so hard to comprehend about that? I'm not alone, either, as I'm sure you're aware of.
Then what I'm saying I guess is that your "individual perspective" is retarded.
That's like me saying "I think all Indian people should be exterminated", someone arguing against my view and me just saying "hey man it's just my opinion" :innocent:
Let's try and show some maturity. I don't care at all what you think or not. Tough luck.

I'll try multiplayer out of curiosity for a little bit but end up sticking to singleplayer only. I would be infinitely more active in multiplayer if competitive gameplay (deathmatches, team based objectives, etc.) were included.
As would I. I want to crush people, not cooperate with them. :innocent:

Not wasting any more of my time discussing this lame game. Mass Effect trilogy is ruined.
I cancelled my preorder. Just wanted to relay that to BioWare. So much more could've went into genuine singleplayer, not this tacked on abomination.

they could have checked over what would already have been the complete game 100 times instead of 80!

I think he or she means that all the money, time and other resources they spent on making multiplayer could have been used for the singleplayer instead.spiros9110 wrote...

You guys do realize if single player doesn't live up to the first two, where the finger will be pointed..right?
It's not going to live up to everyone's expectation, just like ME2, there will be a lot of rage in the first week..err month, lol.

Hmm, I wonder why some of them get defensive...could it be that the anti-multiplayer posters generally resort to insulting the intelligence of those who are accepting of, or at least are open to, the idea of multiplayer? The "antis" haven't exactly promoted goodwill. That being said, that guy up there wasn't exactly the picture of diplomacy on the "pro" side.
Any speculation about resources that could supposedly having gone into single-player assumes that BW somehow didn't budget for the multiplayer. Good luck proving that. The fact that you're raging about the "tacked on abomination" doesn't scream "I'm willing to debate the subject in a calm and rational manner."
As for the actual question in this thread: I'm waiting to see if there are racial bonuses, but being a creature of habit, the odds are good that I'll be a human female Vanguard.

i want to play a human, but not if they have to wear a helmet. id rathr play a boring quarian or as a geth. if humans wear helmets ill roll krogan or turian. although i want to be a biotic, so i might be forced to play the asari, which would suck because they are too feminie for me to fully enjoy.

It is really funny how everything in this post is an assumption. How do you know it is tacked on? How do you know it is an abomination? How do you know it is a waste of resources? How do you know the ME, no correction, Shepard's trilogy (since this is most likely not the end of the ME franchise, just Shep's story) is ruined? Unless you have a time machine, work for Bioware, or have played it (and it they still have 5 months to work on polishing everything including SP) then nothing you have said is true or fact. I was against it as well but after being one of the first people to play the ME3 demo at Comic-Con (have proof), the video explanation and talking to people who actually have experience in this field I am giving this a chance to see where it goes. I still don't think it is a good idea but in the end we are stuck with this and can now only hope Bioware can take on this challenge with success. I am not saying it is great either since that would me mimicing you on assuming that it would be good (or bad) which I have no proof that is or isn't.

Primarily because the purpose of Multiplayer is to sell Online Passes to used game buyers, not improve the game. People keep acting like it was put in for some other reason, and that Bioware spent alot of time and energy thinking of a wonderful way of doing it.
They didn't. EA told them to put it in, and do it in such a way as to force people to buy Online Passes. Which is why it's directly tied to the single player game, instead of being optional backstory, or an implementation like Fable 2.
The problem isn't the people who don't want it, the problem is that people seem to think this was done for some reason other than to sell Online Pass.
Which, I'd bet alot of money, those very same people will be the first ones here flaming when they discover it's lame, as shoehorned features meant to generate revenue rarely satisfy anyone.
Bethseda...Horse Armor...EA...Dead Space 2's forced DLC if you want everything on the disc you paid for...
Gaming would be in much better shape if people started recognizing marketing stuff when studios push it out instead of assuming that things are always done for good reasons.

So I guess I'll just leave it and play the single player campaign, like I did with Bioshock 2 (Hopefully the single player campaign won't be as disappointing as Bioshock 2's)

Again you base this on nothing and who the **** cares? If it turns out well then all your ****ing was for nothing and Bioware has done multiplayer games before so at least they have experience in that regard.

Isn't coop being developed at Montreal, and not at Edmonton? They used part of the ME3's budget to the coop's development, that's true, but at least they didn't have to divide time between SP and MP (or so I understood).

Because anti-multiplayer opinions are idiotic, as are the people that have those opinions.

So pretty much exactly like how used game buyers needed a new Cerberus Network code after buying used-ME2.
