Ea is simply looking to sell online passes? Are you kidding? There looking to sell new copies of the game. Buy it new, online pass is part of the purchase, simple. As for the "empirical proof" that multiplayer ruins single player story, I say where is it? This is not halo. This is not gears. This is not call of duty. To make that comparison is a false dichotomy and shows your lack of argumentative skill. I worry about it being tied in right up to the point where I realize I am going to squeeze this game for all the juice it has, take a breath, and start a new. You want your single player experience, fine. Not going to argue with you. I can assume that if your this worked up about something you have neither played nor seen first hand shows your commitment to being thorough with the first two games, so, as Hudson said quite clearly, your potential to get your best ending is most certainly out there. I, on the other hand, see this as an opportunity to extend the story to one that, for me, is more personal because I create my own character. As much as Shepard has been molded by my decisions, I am not Shepard. My online character would be more in the mold of me, even if it a krogan, because it is interactive with other people, not mindless bullet sink ai that at the hardest level of the game does me no more good than running out into the line of fire for no better reason than it has the tactical mind of a ten year old. Gave up your preorder, cool. See ya. Coming on here to warn us of the evils of ea, thoughtful but utterly redundant. Having a problem with a business making a profiting move on those who won't buy new, what capitalist wouldn't? This goes to another point. Does ea have a right to expect that they get some compensation for there server costs? Seriously, how much you think it costs to run those servers. Electric costs, IT salary to maintain, maintenance, cost of site (most likely leased), and then com up with a number in your head what that might be. Let's say, 10 g a month per server site. Figure there is prolly four to six servers, 60 g a month. Per year, 720 g. Scary thing is that as someone who has seen the electric bill for a small server site, my guess is that you should probably add a zero to my cost analysis. Still think that ea is in the wrong for trying to maintain there server costs? Don't like it, don't play, but you had better believe that ea wants as many people to play as possible and if they can get the costs squared by selling new copies, all power to them.

Wow. People get defensive when someone simply states their own opinion anti-multiplayer.

Not wasting any more of my time discussing this lame game. Mass Effect trilogy is ruined.

I cancelled my preorder. Just wanted to relay that to BioWare. So much more could've went into genuine singleplayer, not this tacked on abomination.

You were never going to get this game in the first place and the more you talk like this the more I'm convinced your trolling just for the hell of it.
You are making baseless assumptions about the multiplayer.  You honestly believe that the simple addition of multiplayer has destroyed the series?  Give me a break.  you talk about the lack of maturity in others yet you are attacking the game for no reason.  Here's a capitol idea wait until the game is out before you decide its ruined.  Because right now your acting like a petulant child "NO NO NO I DON'T WANT MULTIPLAYER WHAAAAAAAA"

Again, don't like my opinions, those are tough cookies. I'm merely stating what many, many others have stated. The devs know there are a bunch of us not happy.

Deal with it.

Sadly it is YOU who needs to deal with it.  Your off your rocker if you honestly believe what your saying.
Do you know ANY game that detracts from the singleplayer by having multiplayer?  NO thats right because there aren't any.

You sure? A lot of people would use Dead Space 2, Bioshock 2, Resident Evil 5 and some other games as examples.

I would suggest you to read what Bethesda had to say about multiplayer.

But Elder Scrolls is only shipping on one disk, whereas Mass Effect 3 is shipping on potentially 3.

(According to Jess Houston they struggled with a 25GB Blu-Ray disk)

"At one point there was a worry that we might need a BD50 instead of the norm BD25. We're also trying to not require install".

I'm pretty excited about it. On Xbox, my friends and I would often join a party and talk while playing the previous Mass Effect titles(you could always tell when someone was in dialog, because they got dead silent). This just adds a new level to it for us.

I haven't read what available races will be out there yet, but I'd love to play one of the races that don't make a big impact - Volus, Hanar or Elcor. If you can only be the standard, I'll shoot for Turian Sentinel

Yeah, been there, done that.  My friends and I primarily played competitive shooters together but have been edging into RPGs since DA:O.  We do still sit in parties with each other even when we're not playing together, and dead silence falls often.  You know what's happening, especially if you know where someone is in a playthrough of a certain game.  Never have we said "turning you guys down for a cut scene" so much.

We use to talk about coordinating our movements, congratulating each other, or ribbing each other for getting pwned; but now we talk about character builds or which perks to take in New Vegas when levelling-up.  It'll be a change for us to actually be able to play together again (even if in a small co-op way) in a game (ME) we've been thusfar isolated from each other in.
