Is it like the first one where if you click resume, you had to go through the fight against Saren again? Or am I able to continue the game after beating it, and do things like DLC and whatnot.

Can I wait until after the suicide mission to buy and play the DLC? Or do I have to do it before completing the game?

I hope my question is clear enough? Let me know if it's not.

at the end you're given the choice to create a New+ save, enabling you to replay for added stats or the option to just continue, where it carries on and you're able to complete any mission that have not been done.
there are no new missions after the suicide mission, no extra planets and no new content.

You can wait to do any mission after the Suicide Mission that you did not do beforehand. That includes recruitment missions, loyalty missions, DLC missions, or N7 missions. The exceptions are the storyline missions required to unlock the Suicide Mission, like Horizon and Reaper IFF, obviously.
