Hi Guys/Gals

Just trying to figure out how to get ME2 to work. Currently crashing when opening game - accessing menus in-game.  Most likely culprit is Intel HD Graphics where I have an i7-2620M chipset.

The faq says that ME2 should work with this chipset:
"1.3.1  Trying to run ME2 on an Intel GPU (besides those included in the latest Core iX-2XXX processors) is likely, though not universally, going to result in an immediate crash."

But I'm guessing its still not supported.

I've updated the drivers but looking for some good advice on what to try - I'm guessing this is a common problem.

Thanks in advance

Tech details

Game is v1.02 - digital download
System details:
Windows 7 Pro - 64 bit
DirectX 10

Processor     Intel® Core™ i7-2620M CPU @ 2.70GHz
Display adapter Intel® HD Graphics Family
Physical Memory 7.88 GB
VRAM -263770112 bytes

Physical RAM - 8Gb

Let me know if there is any more info that will help

You come to this forum, ask for help when you know that you are running substandard hardware, and then get snarky and b*tchy when you get told to buy something that actually supports the games requirements?
My, arent you a precious little princess?

Not really.

I guess my thoughts were that seeing the game is a bit older, support from this graphics card is not only possible but can be quite good.

In fact the Intels driver notes specifically call out ME2 by name as a game that can be played.

So seeing as Intel shows it can work I was thinking about it possibly being a VRAM issue (too much on the hard drive) or DirectX problem (this happened with DA2, where I had to run it in DirectX 7.0)

So I'm cleaning up the harddrive, and thinking if there is a way we can run the game in a lower level of DirectX - like with DA2. Unless someone has some other ideas?

The system specs are quite clearly stated with the game and expanded in a sticky on this forum. Your graphics 'solution' does not meet the requirements. Game over.

Intel can push their marketting as hard as they like, but its not their game is it? No amount of wishful thinking will change that the game will not work properly for you.

Intel integrated GPU's generally do not meet minimum requirements for games and always depends on system RAM for memory requirements.

What you can try is to installing the latest version of DirectX 9.0c (re-distributable) from Microsoft and turning off any high-end graphics options in your game and hope it works for you. Note that installing Dx9 does not downgrade your DX 10 or DX 11, it is a separate DX and does not delete any of the newer version files.

Edited for clarity.
