Hello people at bioware & to those reading this, I was doing some thinking the other day I was wondering why there is no new game+ in Dragon Age.
So many other RPG's have it now yet DA does not.
I was wondering if such a thing could be implemented because at the moment if you want to play the story for the same character, or change something they've done you have to re-create.
I look forwards to hearing your thoughts, thanks.
Can we have a new game+ option for Dragon Age?

You'd probably not be allowed to level up ever again.
And change something you've done? It's called "LIVE WITH IT" XD. Or loading up a save because, zomg my thumb slipped.

Not everyone plays just to level up. Some people like having lots of abilities to use. Enemies scale to level anyway, and even if they didn't it's not like it would overpower you any more than setting the game on casual does.

Exactly, not everyone plays just to get stronger, some people enjoy just going through the story again.
I also remember from reading on other forums that some people wanted 'difficutly trophies' going back through the game at say lv 25 or whatever could help with that & thus pad out gameplay.

I'm not against New Game +. But if they bring it in for say DA3 I hope they use it more like ME1 (level 60 level cap, a single game gets you in the early 50s or late 40s) and not like ME2 (level cap at 30 which you'll hit in one playthrough).
Because while I'd admit that there are people who do not play to get stronger (skills, abilities, weapons, armor) I must say that without those many RPGs get stale. I love ME2 but the New Game+ for that game is boring. I played half of a NG+ and then deleted that character. I was maxed out, had the best weapon and gear, and I was just going through the story again without the sense of progression that a simple New Game offered.
So if they bring in a New Game+ for DA3 I hope the game is designed with that feature in mind. And not as an after thought like ME2's was.

@Foolsfolly
I think the main problem with ME2's NG+ were the severe penalties (less money and ressources, enemies scaling as if you had all upgrades, making the first missions ugly, no paragon/renegade points imported).
Either way, a DAII NG+ would require a lower level cap, level 30 maybe. Higher than this and the level scaling would totally go out of hand (even on level 25-30 the armor values of the best armors become crappy). And you would get too many talents, removing any focus your character had.

Forst1999, you're speaking my language, I was thinking the same for an NG+ in Dragon Age 2, after all the the level cap in Origins/Awakening is 35 & I was more than happy with that.
Plus, just a pontless point here, but an NG+ for DA2 would remove the continuity error at the start of the game (Hawke's appearence).
(sory for any spelling/grammar errors I've not has much sleep)

I support new game+ wholeheartedly. I'd love to see it patched into DA2, but I know it's highly unlikely.

NG+ would be perfect for DA2. The level cap is at 50. A completionist play through (as of right now) should land you in between level 26-30. That's 24-20 more levels of progression not to mention that with every level up the threshold is pushed 1,000 experience points further than the previous. If they have a high cap in Dragon Age 3 I'm all for it.

The most obvious issue with new game+ would be the non-scaling equipement. Every piece of equipement would be nearly obsolete (save the few evolving dlc weapons) once you would start a new game+. This would require a whole lot of work for raising the equipement lvl, wich I don't think we will be seeing, considering they can't even fix the damn game itself.

Wouldn't be an issue at all if the level capped where gear capped.

The gear doesn't cap. It is a matter of unique items (aka the best items) having a set level. And they would have to change the level of those items for them to be effective for a new high-lvl playthrough. That would have to include all unique pieces of armor, weapons and accessories from vanila, item packs and two story dlc's. Wich I would guess, is a whole lot of work.
Anywayz, this discussion is moot, since well....it's not gonna happen.
