So here's the deal...A while back I sold my 360 and all my games (I have a problem with selling stuff -- bought and sold my Wii and games 4 times).
I didn't have a 360 when DA:2 came out. Having bought a new 360 slim...do you think I should rebuy Origins and give it a playthrough before picking up DA:2?
I heard that the choices made in Origins don't really have any effect on the story in DA:2...is that true? Remember NO SPOILERS!
Should I play Dragon Age Origins again?

Depends how much do you care about the lore of the game. You already played origins, so you know what the history is about and the choices that the warden can make there. How much do you care about those choices? If you don´t care, then simply pick DA2. But if you want your playthrought to have certain choices (ex. not having alistair as king) then it is better to pick origins again. My recommendation is to pick origins again as i think it is a great game (better than DA2) and well worth the money, plus by importing into DA2, the sequel is somewhat improved as well, as you will meet known faces or events that you will care about. If you go with the default events, you won´t probably care about much that happened before DA2.

I deleted my save game before it was announced DA2 would incorporate actions from DA:O so I went through and played it again.
One day I may actually buy DA2 and see if it was worth it!

Definitely
Even though I find DA:O incredibly long and at times boring (especially since the Warden is a bit of a blank face as far as personality is concerned, being that s/he is voiceless), it is well worth it to import that various played games into DA2.

DA2 allows a choice of 'default' imports so you can just pick the one of the three that sounds closest to the choices you would have made. Between all the defaults you can see most of the points where it can really affect the story.
If you do replay DAO again, be cautious about playing Awakening. That expansion does not create proper flags in the save file so it doesn't import properly.

The effect from the choices in Origins is mostly trivial, they add a few quests here and there, but it won't make much of a difference if you import or not.

Yes DAO didn´t have any impact on the DA2 storyline at all.
But lets be honest despite DA2, DAO is DA in its purest form and it is the best game yet in my opinion
I would pick DAO over DA2 anytime
