Galaxy At War: Mass Effect for hardcore roleplaying

Galaxy At War offers the unique oppertunity for people to truly make a character from the ground up. Shepard, while --from my own subjective view point-- being a more compelling protagonist, garners some reservations from the hard core role players in the Bioware fan sphere, stemming most commonly from his/her limited character creation options and voiced status. No matter what the player chooses, Shepard is a human Alliance Marine, is a personal friend of Captain Anderson, charismatic and decisive.
In Galaxy At War, your character can fight, and you can build up from there. You --ostensibly-- could be anything from a level-headed krogan Adept to a borderline psychotic salarian Vanguard. Although from all indications; the Galaxy At War servers will be flooded with an army of sassy lady turian Soldiers, but I digress. Granted, very little of the subtlties of your character's personlity will make any sort of appearance whatsoever, but for the hardcore role player, I can't imagine this really makes too much of a difference.
Heck; you could even try recreating Conrad Verner and the Turian Groundskeeper, if you felt so inclined.

I like this and it's true, but people are going to argue that this feature is only for the "shooter" crowd.
Well, you could theoretically try to roll dice to determine whether or not your bullets would actually hit the enemies you are targeting instead of just aiming and pulling the trigger.
You'd just die a lot.

Don't really get why (and how) they have Cerberus occupying these supposedly major locations throughout the galaxy, when it would make more sense to have everyone join forces against the Reapers and their glowies.

What, they railroad me into working with a group no one wanted to work with in the first place, manage to somewhat enamour me, and then we're forced to work against said group again?KotorEffect3 wrote...

That's what I hate most of the Cerberus development in ME3. I'm not a fan of Cerberus (neither a hater), but they were on the "good" side in ME2, they were the only group that wanted to help Shepard against the Reapers. And now they work for them.
Though they did already this in ME2, with the inability to rolpleplay a Shepard who really hates Cerberus (and with the inablility for me to play as a Sole Survivor).
About MP, though, I think it doesn't make sense to play as Cerberus, since they'll be enemies for at least a good part of the game.

This is why they need a PvP mode, so I can shoot every single one of those moth**f****rs, in the head at close range, with my Widow. I would too, in excess and with great vigor.

ME 2 wasn't exactly subtle when it hinted that the alliance between Shepard and TIM would be a temporary one.

Depending on the type of Shepard you roleplay.

Maybe but this is getting off topic. I don't know what kind of roleplaying this multiplayer co-op will have because we aren't going to be playing as Shepard.

Multiplayer will NOT give you more RPG options, infact it will do the exact bloody opposite.
Let me explain this to you, and to everyone else who posted; Multiplayer is not about "RPG" it's about shooting the sh%t with your friends and acting like giant scums online.
If you wanted more "Rpg" elements so god damn badly, you guys should've kept your mouths shut about your MP suggestion. But hopefully you guys will learn from this debacle.

It amazes me how devoted to Bioware, some of you fanboys can be. I don't know who told you that Multiplayer is a good place for RPG, but they lied.

If people want to make the multiplayer more enjoyable for themselves by "roleplaying", there is nothing in the MP-mode keeping them from it. The option to use your imagination and try to embody the character you are playing is there in more games than you would think.
For instance, many modern FPS-games will most of the time just hand you a voiceless (often faceless) character with a gun (Half-life, portal, Medal of honor, etc.). While some people are content just shooting things (as you've pointed out) some may find the option to use their fantasy to enhance the experience quite enjoyable.
It's like when you were a kid, where you armed yourself with a stick and pronunced yourself a knight before you embark on a killing spree in the kingdom of sorrows, slaying ghouls and gobins and the likes.
I'd guess quite a few Bioware fans can relate to this feeling, that's why we love RPGs so much.
I've never roleplayed in a MP before (mostly because I was too busy getting sniped and teabagged), but if people will enhance this new co-op experience, why the hell not! SOunds like fun actually^_^.

I didn't want multiplayer either but guess what dude it is here and all your whining and ****ing isn't going to make it go away. Besides this isn't going to be like CoD or Halo this is just going to be a co-op mode and it might actualy end up being pretty fun. I know I am going to give it a try at least.
Another thing you need to either grow up or shut the hell up your whining does not help your cause because nobody will take you seriously.
