So long as the final Harbinger confrontation isn't as retarded as the end of Fallout New Vegas, where you could just talk Legate Lanius out of fight with "speech powers".

If a blue speech option appears in the last fight, I ain't using it.

It turns out, all harby ever needed was a hug

I agree but I don't think we will get blue or red options  when talking to Harbinger or any reaper for that matter.  It made some sense with saren since we could still reason with him enough for him to break away from Sovereign's indocrtination to shoot himself but that was a totaly different situation.  Besides Saren was puppet while harbinger is a puppet master.

I regretted pushing that blue button, I wanted to fight him.And then he shot himself. It was anticlimatic for me.

Really? that was one of the best moments in the game when Saren redeemed himself to an extent.

We'll see what the final fight of ME3 is going to be but I certainly hope it is not just Shep and team vs. Harbinger. It should either be part of a much larger battle of the combined fleets of the organics against the reapers in general or some other, yet unknown boss. Harbinger didn't do such a good job as a villain and I think he (?) would be best placed as a boss fight somewhere in the middle of the game. Very very difficult to take out but not the final challenge. Especially not if he keeps spewing nonsensical taunts and sulky tantrums.

EDIT: IMO it would be great if they could bring back Sovereign in some way that is not totally cheesy (and that is going t be very difficult I realize). It would probably not be everybody's cup o' tea but I'd like it.

I'm still convinced that the Alliance is rebuilding or reverse engineering Sovereign with what parts were found. They said they only recovered 1/3 of it, but I call BS. Those parts had to be cleaned up and put somewhere.

Apparently Keiji's greybox has "information that could implicate the Alliance". Inside it, you can see pictures of Reapers that look exactly like Sovereign.

If I had a choice between Sovereign (Nasara) and Harbinger, I would go with Sovereign as the more frightening one. I can't place the exact reason but he did have an amazing voice and tone and had the Darth Vader effect in him/her. Also word you got out of him made you feel as if he was about to do something you weren't expecting and turn you t dust. Harbinger just feels like another villain bose partly because they over used him in ME2 to such an extent that you took him for granted.

No, Anderson said that only some of it was recovered by Citadel clean-up crews:

We secured as much of it as we could, but between the keepers and a whole lot of unauthorized salvage, there's no way to account for even half of that thing.

Note the "unauthorized salvage".  He was also talking mostly about the bits that actually landed on the wards. They know perfectly well that other groups grabbed up a lot of the stuff they couldn't account for, and the Codex confirms that:

Following the Battle of the Citadel, human and turian volunteers conducted a massive three-month survey effort to clear the station's orbit of debris. Secretly, the turian Office of Technological Reconnaissance "volunteers" were technology recovery specialists salvaging the main weapon of the geth flagship Sovereign, and large amounts of its valuable element zero core.

That said, a lot of it is just plain gone due to the keepers. Hell, they probably broke a lot of it down and used it to repair the damage to the station.

Totally. One of the hands down best moments. And it's not like that fight is anything special.

I replayed ME1, decided to take the "trash talking" route with Saren. Mock him and cuss him out.

The resulting fight was much more anticlimactic then the gunshot. Infact, I thought the suicide scene was pretty damn good. Only thing I would have changed is maybe adding more dialog, since I doubt a 2 sentences could release you from Sovereigns grasp.

For me. I'd personally like to see Harbringer be one of several leaders. Each having parts they played... With Soveriegn having been one of them as well... They are hive mind beings of a sort... It seems fitting that they would have a group to lead them and take concensus from while still filling out particular roles needed to keep their plans in operation.

I think the only problem with Harby was his constant trash talk. If I ignored that and instead looked at what he had actually done, I thought he was a much more effective villian than Sovereign.

The discussion with Harbinger at the end of Arrival was fantastic, probably second best scene other than Sovereign at Virmire.

Harbinger being so detached was rather annoying as a villain, since if he doesn't care, why should we?

I hope they get RID of him due to a horrible random glitch I encounter on horizon where Harbinger kept TALKING FOR THE ENTIRETY OF HORIZON EVEN DURING CUTSCENES WHEN HE WASN'T THERE. Geez that was annoying. Talk about a scene killer. Especially because it seemed to become a fan of "this hurts you."

Ashley: I'm no fan of aliens, but I'll never work for Cerberus!
Harbinger: This hurts you...

I'm not sure which made me angrier. The scene or the glitch.

I vote to replace Harby, as the voice-over DID get repetitive and lame after a while. Sovereign was much cooler, if not for the fewer lines it spoke, just for the 'wow, the ship ITSELF is the reason Saren is such a Dick!' factor. ME1 had a better villian/story, so if ME3 can equal it, bring on a new Reaper character. My opinion: keep it from talking too much.

Indeed. why do some people insist on believing that Harbinger would be any kind of leader for the Reapers?
Given what we know of them, even having a leader would be a stretch.

And hell yes, drop the Harbinger-like Reaper speech, more Sovereign please.
It had such a pure mechanical menace about it, not just pitched down storyteller voice.

Harbinger has two jobs apparently, 1) Run the Collectors and 2) Conduct Psy-Ops on the Commander to run her down and keep her distracted - as essarr71 has mentioned.

I agree that Sovereign's voice is more menacingly machine like - and I like that resonating thrumming tone.

Folks it could be worse...ALL the Reapers could be transmitting distracting messages at the same time.
This might feel like being caught in a plague of Locusts ( if the Locusts were fifty stories tall ! ) - each with their own threatening voice.  This might feel and sound like the onset of hallucinatory psychosis.

That machine reactivation tone we hear in the Invasion Earth trailer and the Geth Base trailer- is the True Voice of the Reapers for me. It's frightening to face an impervious, impersonal, implacable enemy - who won't speak to you - or speaks to you in some ancient alien machine code by preference.

Of course the Reapers can communicate in whatever languages they've been picking up from their listening spot at the edge of the Galaxy.  They've had time to learn all broadcasted languages.

WHEN Harbinger is destroyed... I fully expect another Reaper to take up the slack and play the role of "Demoralizing Agent"...and that one will do it differently.

Replace Harbinger "just because ?"
Heck no - NOW we want to BRING the SMACKDOWN TO THAT STUPID SPACE SQUID !
