Personally i think they need to bring back to crossbows, well i've always been a fan of bows of anykind but have become attached to the crowssbow,
Now what do you think?

As for what I would change? Repeated environments (although luckily they've already taken this step with the DLC).

What do I think they need to bring back? Pickpocketing and other thieving abilities that work outisde of combat. Also Swords for rogues. Or give them Rapiers if they really insist on keeping the silly class gear limitations. A duelist without fencing blades is embarassing.

You'll have to ask The Divine about that, but it won't be any time soon as the current one isn't over yet ...
Seriously though ...
If EA comes to it's senses and looks at the numbers from DA2, and the current sentiments toward it in the gaming "community", it wouldn't surprise me if they pull the plug on what's currently in development for DA3 ... and possibly the entire DA IP.
Thanks a WHOLE freaking lot Laidlaw & co.

But I do worry about a new Dragon Age.

They should really look at Bethesda/Obsidian. As much as they probably dislike (to admit) that their competition is doing things better, compared to Fallout for example Bioware lockpicking is a joke. The only use of it is to get some extra loot. But it could be more, it could be an optional way to solve quests. As in, if you need to bring back an item you have the choice to kill everyone on the way, or, you sneak them by (i.e. with the main character or a sneaky companion) and recover the item without anyone noticing. Bioware is just putting too much emphasis on killing stuff, it's not Diablo.Cutlass Jack wrote...

I agree on this, and it does tie into what I was saying. Lockpicking, even though it was still in, was completely trivialized in DA2. Unlocking a complex chest only to get a pair of torn trousers was rediculous. They were completely afraid to put anything worthwhile in locked chests because people might complain they were forced to bring rogues around.

The game shipped over 2 million copies, regardless of reasons that is enough to garner the funding for a sequel. It is not a small amount.
EDIT: I should note that I am aware that this is less than half what Origins shipped, however this is still a sizable quantity of copies - enough to merit future investment.

I definitely agree here. I think what irks me more is they could have got around the issue by having the areas *returnable to*, which for some inexplicable reason they weren't 99% of the time (and were at really random ones). It wasn't as if the various caves/tunnels/warehouses even used teh same entrances within the same act, so it's not like that was a problem.

I'm sure there will be. But a DA3 will probably have to stand completely on it's own. I doubt it will pull the amount of pre-orders that DA2 did. I think it will have to get a good initial response to be successful.
I disagree, at least to the extent that DA3 won't exist in a complete vacuum and it will probably reference events (based on imports), since the setup ending, the beginning with Varric and talk with Flemeth all seem to say events have spun out of control.

Yeah, there'll be another DA3. It was enough of a "Success" (and I use that term lightly) that it probably exceeded its cost. But if DA3's going to succeed its going to need to really address a boatload of issues that the DLC's have started to touch on several of.Aaleel wrote...

You misunderstood my point. I didn't mean stand alone as in completely new game. I meant stand alone as in not having a huge wave of popularity and critical success from it's predecessor generating a ton of pre orders. I think it will be more wait and see this time.

The outcry over this game is still pretty strong among the hardcore fans of the first game, making a DA3 seems like money in the bank just by making it, not necessarily addressing concerns from the second game. The people complain, but they will still likely buy it....
Mr. Laidlaw's "promotion" to Creative Director (which was my tipping point in favor of not purchasing DA3 new) of the franchise seems to ensure continued work on future Dragon Ages as well....
I honestly think the game will sell well initially, just like DA2, and may taper off slower than DA2's drop simply because I think retrograde improvements or features will be added back into the franchise or expanded upon, I think it will end up being closer to what we thought DA2 maybe should have been....

I guess it would have to be Jade Empire 2 or something brand new. The problem with brand new, of course, is that they've already wasted a bunch of time on Thedas, and there's not much business case to be made for starting over again that I can see.
So yeah, it'll be Dragon Age something. That or there'll be a short run on pink paper in Edmonton.

I think the real question is what all these people would be doing if there wasn't. Sure, some could go to ME3, but not all. Maybe some for TOR, but probably not much (if any).

First game is great, specially on PC (mouse & keyboard), the game was designed with PC on mind, later ported to consoles with some serious flaws in terms of combat.NOD-INFORMER37 wrote...

The Sequel is a button smasher with lightened RPG elements, contrary to DA:O this time it was designed for consoles, but combat on XB360 or PS3 is miles away from what you can see in, let's say, God Of War, the port to PC is quite crappy, combat can be terrible!
