Bioware has a whole other team working on the coop for ME3, I doubt they would devote thtat kind of attention to the company's red headed stepchild.

Good for you, ME fanboy.
I'm glad you were able to find time to move away from your ME3 forum just
to comment or put down DA. Which I don't understand why you'd even put a single second of doing
if you do not like DA. All I'm saying is focus on DA Storyline not multiplayer.
This has nothing to do with ME3 or anything else.

DA, hence why its in a DA forum.

I'm having trouble picturing how multiplayer in DA3 would even work. Considering how dependant DA games are on lore and social interactions, what role would extra people play? Would they play an existing companion? A new character entirely? Would NPCs acknowledge them? Would they be able to save their game separately? Too many questions that make this almost impossible for me to wrap my head around.

I think too many people have never played the NWN(2) multiplayer (aka persistent worlds), which for me is the holy grail of multiplayer games, and like many people coming from there I'm still hoping for a successor. Of course it's the last thing one can hope for, it'll probably be Co-op only, which I'm less interested in than in multiplayer module creation.
As for the NWN-style multiplayer, this of course also means access to the toolset. That's another thing not very likely after DA2.

So this stupidity wasn't enough for the ME forums? had to spill over here too?

"i'll never buy a game that provides me free post single player content! those bastards!! cause i'm such a non industry insider who knows they'll cheapen the single player despite the fact i could list at least 10 A++ titles having added multiplayer to great, lengthy single player games! clearly my only experiance with this is seeing call of duty! derp de derpz!"

My only reasoning to not wanting DA3 multiplayer is my dislike for the majorty of bioware's forum users, stupid stuff like this is why

Then why are you even here?
That's the only "Derp" I see is that you come here just to spill your hatred, trolling, waste of time nonsense.
Is it because no one in reality take interest in what you say in real life so you just try to offend anyone and everything where you remain anonymous? Grow up.

Seriously, there's are better things to do in life instead trying to offend people in text.
Where your accomplishment does nothing in life. Literally gets you nowhere.

I'm guessing if the ME3 co-op is a success, then there is little doubt DA will get it too. Hopefully, in the unfortunate event that comes to pass, they at least do it one better by releasing a toolset and an actual quest structure in the Co-op side. A toolset for multiplayer would probably be seen as the second coming by many.

The team knows how to do story multiplayer (go look back at the multiplayer features they had planned for Origins).

My suspicion is that the current engine wouldn't let them in any case. They may want to, but if they tried, they would die spectacular, painful deaths. If they somehow survived, I think the engine would just randomly kill itself when played.

Next engine gets multiplayer, for sure... assuming they get over whatever it was that kept them from doing the Origins multiplayer as they intended.

I'd say there are sufficient problems with single player that should be focused on rather than introducing something completely new to the series. It's asking for more problems they really don't need with this series.

I think a multiplayer could be interesting, if done proper. Not having other peoples characters join your game, but rather have people come in and "control" characters in the party.

The best they can do is to continue the series single player and produce a Dragon Age Online or kind of, if they intend to go on multiplayer.

why not make DA3 like NWNs? A great single player story line but to have the ability for player created multiplayer worlds?

:D

(Despite laughing at that, I actually just started a NWN2 run yesterday. Lol.)

Until Dragon Age gets back unified combat rules and animations/attack speeds that are in sync, it'll be difficult to pull off. Also, it wouldn't nearly be as fun considering how limiting the character system is in terms of builds.

Finally, I doubt BioWare would go to all that trouble.

Toolsets are great for inspiring faith in a gaming community, they are also good at keeping a game relevant for a long time, getting more sales. However, the positive impact of a toolset is unpredictable. I won't resort to the "it ruins DLCs argument" (Elder Scrolls and Fallout say hai), but considering that BioWare didn't release a toolset for Dragon Age 2 for whatever reason, don't expect one for DA 3, let alone the Neverwinter Nights concept of toolset + MP module creation.

If it was done like NWN, I MIGHT buy it. As an MMO, NO WAY! I love the interactions of the characters way too much. And I love Dragon Age.

Free post single player content would be fine. In this case it would give me a chance to try MP as I have not done so yet. MP is not FREE as you contend. When MP is added to an EA title it is an excuse to require Origin and I will not install that on my PC.

I'm pondering the legistics of a multiplayer, WoW's arenas pop into mind, but traditionally playable characters deal more damage while the Enemy NPC's can take more damage(Relitivly)

Come on, fanboy? Atakuma is right.
Bioware doesn't give Dragon Age the same attention, Mass Effect is obviously the favorite child in the family.
I mean...Mass Effect is going to have a feature film with Legendary Pictures, Dragon Age got a horrible webseries with...Felicia Day (hahaha). Mass Effect 2 was polished and critically praised, Dragon Age 2 was rushed, it's a flawed gamed that polarized the fanbase and divided the critics as well.
The DLC for the Mass Effect series have been good so far. The DLC for Dragon Age are mostly rubbish. And yes, I'm including the DLC released for DA2.
I love Dragon Age, and I'm trying way too hard to not start hating it. Hell, I even pre-ordered the lame Signature Edition, and I tell you right now...if DA3 has another crappy signature edition and/or multiplayer I won't even bother with it. The franchise (for me ) started and died with Origins.

Edit: This is just my opinion. And my opinion only, if you don't share it, that's fine. If you love DA2 and its DLC, then more power to you, I won't insult you or call you names. So, please don't think that I'm trying to start a war here.

Seeing as the web series is good and video game movies always turn out to be crap... Ya I rather take a web series with Felicia Day that is good and has been getting good reviews from fans then a crappy movie.

I'm actually really hoping DA3 has a multi-player component. I always considered that the most memorable part of playing NWN2 because, given other player companions who like to role-play, it was much more organic than the canned adventure.

If they put it in ME they sure as heck will put it in DA.

And since DA3 isn't coming out for a long time can we not have 50 million of these topics over the next year or so?

I hope it isn't coming out for a long time. That said if they rush it like DA2 it could potentially be out around this time next year... That's about 18 months from when DA2 was released right? Fingers crossed they'll take at least an additional 6 months this time.
