I couldn't find a thread about this, but I saw the announcement earlier via the dragon age facebook.  Did anyone else see the announcement?  There are new comics coming out in February featuring Alistair, Varric, and Isabela.  It is also supposed to take place in Antiva.  What do you guys think about it?  Here is a link to an article about it: http://www.comicbook...rticle&id=34930

This comic isn't canon, is it? Because Alistair can potentially be dead, making him unable to do whatever he does in this comic.

I'm not sure guys, it doesn't really say.

"The three of them have traveled to Antiva, an exotic land of assassins, to chase a secret from Alistair's past that will draw all three of them into danger -- and also reveal a surprising truth about the nature of dragons in Thedas.

"It follows a few things that fans of 'Dragon Age' have probably been wondering about for some time, and a few plot threads that we haven't been able to pick up elsewhere."

These are the only details about it. I know that there have been several different threads about fan's theories on dragons, so maybe it will have some interesting lore.

I'm a little surprised there isn't any announcement for it yet in that section of the forum, but I guess everyone is probably busy with the Con.

Well Wynne can also be dead yet the upcoming novel has her as a major character, so clearly there is some sort of vague canon for Origins (and probably DA2)

While each playthrough is unique for each person, I think BW has a set canon script for what does/doesn't happen for the storyline. What is in that script is a whole different matter all together.

I'm sure they get enough nerd rage to last a couple of lifetimes, over not following each and every plot point from DAO and DA2, but i would rather get DA3 sooner rather than later. It could easily take them until 2015 if they had to go over everything with a fine tooth comb.

Back onto the subject, the comics would have to take place either inbetween the Acts or after DA2. There is enough years inbetween the Acts for an trip to Antiva, but you would think Isabela or Varric would mention having a magical dragon filled adventure with King/Warden-Commander/Hungover Alistair (depending on which they make canon).

I suspect it will be post act 3 but with vague references so that they don't have to canonize the mage or Templar ending and Hawke's Gender, class and Romance.

There's a thread in one of the other forums on the subject of the upcoming comic - some interesting discussion lies within.
