That's actually concept art for her non-armor outfit.  Cool find, though.

I think he's talking about the little Ashleys next to the big Ashley.

Her hair is up. This is good.

Maybe.  Might still be just preliminary concept work, though.  They often show concepts next to finals in art showcases like this.

I'm not going to squeal with glee until I see actual in-game screenshots.  But this is still a really cool find.

It doesn't look like heavy armor to me.

Concept art is simply concept. Nothing confirmed or denied until actual photoage or offical in game screenie has confirmed it and then again it can always be changed like how Ashley's hair was over her eye in one of the earlier showings of the gameplay and was not over her eye in another at a different convention. Still plenty o time to do a 180 on her character design, I doubt it but it is possible.

Sidenote: Geez seems like they all had similar thoughts on what Kaidan would look like hands down.

Casey also said Miranda's heavy armour option was just the female version of the blue Spectre armour we've seen Kaidan in.

Presumably there'll be more than one outfit per squaddie.

Yeah I would like to make my own squad mates armor by my self, like change armor additions and color.

It must be said, I do dislike the fact that she's posing in a sexualized way while the male character next to her is just standing there like a normal person.

Otherwise I am glad that evidence is suggesting that she could have armor, I want to be optimistic about that because I'm so tired of having to be negative. I doubt very much that the 'armored' look will replace her current look given how much work they've put into it and how many shallow people are now screaming 'ZOMG SHE DA HOT NAOW!!!' which I can't help but feel was Bioware's intention here, though Mac Walters could have been telling the truth, I hardly see them giving all that up for the sake of a few angry forum posters.
Odds are it will be optional, and you'll be able to switch between them at your own will (or it will be a DLC appearance pack which frankly wouldn't surprise me)

In a way, I prefer that. Because while I object to Ashley's redesign in the context of a combat situation I would be lying if I said I didn't like the outfit in and of itself, stylish and sexy and suggesting authority. I reckon in non-combat situations like on the Normandy Ashley can wear that and I can have the option to switch to armor when she actually enters the fray.
Letting her be sexy and casual on the ship, and deadly and badass on the battlefield, best of both worlds.

Guess the "sexy posing" is artistic freedom.
Or it's just the BW standard feminine stance for showing armor / clothing designs. Who knows?

Whatever. I like the idea about changing a squadmate's appearance in ME3. I guess I'll have Ashley wearing her hair bun at the beginning, but will change it in late game. Or vice versa. Dunno.

I don't think they should go to pieces over this one little pic.   But in fairness to the people you are calling a legion of haters, concept artists DO indeed sexualize and pornify nearly EVERYTHING they get their hands on.

Concept artists draw characters in hooker heels, bare mid-driffs, bare ass hanging out of tight pants, excessive breasts and generally no armored protection over most female warrior bodies.  If we hadn't seen this look over and over again in gaming there would probably be far less skepticism from the so called haters.

But with the exception of the two pics with Ash's hair in a bun, it looks like different concepts of her casual outfit.

I think the pose isn't much different from one of her ME1 idle animations - one that I didn't like much, I want to emphasize -, but that cannot be oversexed because it is from the "perfect" ME1, where even some of the heavy armor choices could be described as spandex as well, if you apply the same short-sighted point-of-view, that we are constantly presented with, not to speak of the overdramatic comparisons with Miranda, cleavage and all. But have fun, I will just facepalm in silence from now on.

I am happy that her hair seems to be tied back in the "real armor" design - not sure if it is really the much-hoped-for bun again, but fingers crossed!

Is it march yet!

That position look uncomfortable.

Can't really say anything about the armour, too small and degraded.

I'm going to highlight how ridiculous Ashley's poses are in two ways:

Women posing in public like models.

Men-ups

Everyone please note that Kaidan is just standing, not in a pose at all. This annoys the crap out of me and only heightens my awareness of how ridiculous Ashley looks, even though this is in an poor quality, fuzzy image.
