New to game and can't specialize in Assassin.

Hello all,
I recently bought this game and Dragon Age 2. I am currently playing DA origins and made a rogue. I am lvl12 now and still can't specialize in the Assassin speciality tree. All the 4 speciality buttons are greyed out and says the speciality is not unlocked.
How do i unlock them? Tried right clicking, left clicking etc but to no avail. It shows i have 1 specialization point to spend but I just can't spend it.
Any help would be appreciated.

Unlike in DA2, In Origins you need to learn the specialisation from somewhere or someone before you can access it.
For assassin, you can learn from Zevran (once his approval is high enough) or, according to the wiki, a book you can acquire very late in the game.

I believe you can also unlock all specializations in Origins if you start a game in Awakenings.
