However, Miranda is the "most used" squad member. I'd think that equates to "most popular" in terms of things they can statistically measure.

"Most used" in ME2 or of the entire series?

Also it's quite obvious why Miranda is the "most used character" in the series.
First, ME2 got released for more platforms than ME1.
Second, Miranda can't get "virmired" and don't have to share her place with another squadmember.
Third, Ashley, as a soldier, isn't used that much since the most played class is "soldier" and therefore a biotic or biotic-hybrid is more useful than a second soldier on the field. Especially with the team bonuses.
You can say something similar about Wrex (more soldier than biotic) and Garrus (infiltrator - doesn't makes much sense to use him if you're soldier / infiltrator. Tali comes in handy sometimes.
Miranda seems to replace either Kaidan or Liara I guess.

'nuff said.

"Most used" doesn't mean "most popular". Sometimes it's just gameplay.

Sorry, didn't want to bust someone's hope, but since Miranda isn't protected by plot armor in ME2, I doubt she'll play a more prominent role than other "main cast" of ME2. The BIGGEST role is reserved for Liara I fear. That's something I can live with, but I don't really like it. I'm not a big Liara fan ...

Lets hope she has more than 3-4 redundant conversations about her "genetic tailoring."

What's this? Miranda's been packing on the pounds?

OH... "role". My bad. Sorry - continue.

I hope that they do give Miranda a large role to play in ME3. She's an LI from ME2, was your 1st officer, and knows a great deal about Cerberus and TIM. That's why TIM is likely gunning for her in order to protect both Cerberus and himself. In fact, I would be targeting her sister in order to draw out Miranda for the hit. But that's just me.

This is feedback coming directly from BioWare servers. She didn't make it up to get a snide comment from you.

Right, this was per Brenon Holmes in a PM "And it may interest you to know that Miranda was the most used squadmate." They didn't even track stats for ME1.

Hardly surprised she was most used. Her passive is a party buff and she can crack any protection.

Me either. The more optimistic part of my thinks BW rigged it so she would win the "popularity" contest so they could justify whatever they planned to do in ME3.

Plus, she was a starting squadmate, and thus had the most potential to be used over the course of the game (well, along with Jacob, but he was Jacob).

Miranda okay she's a good friend though. I though don't really care much I hate Cerberous and TIM. They are going too fail. I'm sure all characters will be in the game, but not fully squadmembers. I'm happy original and beloved Liara back. I hope when you got everyone loyalty they are loyal too you. I will hate seeing if previous things done nothing. I hope Miaranda with Shepard not with bleh crappy Cerberous.

I didn't know Miranda was the most used squadmate, but I'm not surprised. She is the best squadmate hands down.
.
Anyway, I want her in ME3 to be like Bastila in KoTOR, in the sense that she may be with or against you.

This was due to me playing through the game too many times using just Miranda and Garrus practically. Sorry I broke the results.

So... Miranda really knows something? about TIM or Cerberus as a whole? From what I know, she is just another cerberus operative + leader of the Lazarus Project.

Well,i played on insanity with and without the chearleader. Her party buff hardly makes any significant difference and others, like garrus, are better for shields, mordin is the best against armor and samara is the best against barriers.
If the game didnt have global cooldown, her versatility would be worth something(strip shields first and then the armor),but its not.

How is Samara best against Barriers?

Guessing you mean Thane.. or maybe even Jack..

Miranda was the most useful squadmate in my view, seconded by Grunt (just thanks to his staying power)

True, but how is Garrus against Barriers and Armor? Or Mordin against barriers and shields? Or Samara against shields? And her buff although not a game changer, is worth something.
.
Not to mention the fact she can stop an enemy with Slam and is the only character in the game (other than Liara) that can both detonate and set a warp bomb.

Oh right yeh, I never used her so don't have much awareness of that

Then again.. Warp does the same damage as Reave but instant

IF she survived ME2 [and, damn, she is HARD to kill without trying], I am sure that she will get plenty of "quality" time if not quantity. In other words, I expect A LOT of dialogue during her portion of the game as well as insights only she could provide on the Cerberus situation.

I would be curious to see what a Jacob-only game would be like in such a situation since they were former lovers and I can see plenty of opportunity for him to having flashback of all their Cerberus missions together.

Reave has the advantage of striking multiple opponents (it can have a 3m radius effect). Warp however, can set warp detonations, which is probably the most devastating attack in ME2.

Hope not, easily my least favorite character, both as a character and in general design.
