the toolset has a simple subversion controll. you need to checkout the "object" you want to edit before you can write to it. when you are done you check it in again. aslong as a item is checkout no onew else can edit it. (if you work in a team and share a common database)

in the panel, right click and choose checkout. but you can't edit area terrain. you must export a new version from the level editor. You download the source for the OC levels here: http://social.biowar...m/project/1331/

read the datoolsetwiki if you want to understand the diffrence between a level and a area editors

if you're trying to edit .lvl files, you need to right click them within windows and disable their write protection before loading with the toolset. resources like dialogues, scripts, blueprints and so on have to be right clicked within the toolset. afterwards choose "check out" to alter them.

if it's a external resource such as a level, animation, texture or other art resource, it's not stored in the database and it's not in subversion. So there is no checkout you simply open the file from where ever you have it stored. if it's a blueprint, area, script or other module specific and internal resource it's will be in your palette and you can check it in/out from there.

to explain what you're trying to edit would really help.

Ah,  I will assume that you already have the level project you want to alter.  Open it in the toolset, then re-save it somewhere and you will then be able to edit it.

Pick "New Area" Name your new Area and it will open in writtable state. select Area layout. PIck denerim palace. And your done and ready to put down new NPC's, placeables and other stuff.

You use SQL server 2005 independen on windows version. You change language in Windows 7 as you do in all other windows version through the control panel and national settings.
