I didnt see any topic about this on the first 3 pages, and i remeber seeing at least two 20 pages more topics about this statue, so here we go (text by plastikitty.com):

Kotobukiya’s Liara T’Soni Bishoujo has gone through a lot of controversy. Upon her original announcement, fans were pretty excited. Then the unpainted prototype showed up and people ended up less than thrilled. Then a leak of the “final” sculpt left people feeling better, but it turns out that the images were unofficial and unfinished! But finally we get to see the final, completed Liara, and man has she come a long way! There’s a lot changed in this prototype, including some things fans wanted to see altered. First, the minor stuff: her face is slightly more blue and her signature “spots” on her forehead and hair tentacles are a lot more pronounced. This is just to make her more accurate to the original character design, and while they are small details it’s nice to see attention paid to these important aspects. As for the big changes, her face has been tweaked slightly to make her look older and her bust has been significantly reduced. These seemed to be the only complaints left (too young-looking, too busty), so it’s great to see that Kotobukiya is really listening to the fans! I think it’s hard to be unsatisfied with the finished product, and she looks just like the Shunya Yama****a illustration. So hit the jump and check out a full behind-the-glass gallery of this alien cutie!

Well, there was a topic but it flew over into the deep end. So it's good to have another.

Oh, the horrors I inflicted on that thread...

By the way, wrote an essay on that toilet today for an exam.

Anyway, my opinion remains the same: not a bad statue, but... eh, not really Liara.

Well, OP, I do have complaints, but I said them so many times I kind of feel obliged to keep my mouth shut.

Also, lol at all the first replies.

Interesting.

I suppose it is an improvement from the prototype. But this Liara probably won't be able to get a job at Space Hooters though.

looks like an asari version of any generic anime girl. if it weren't for the outfit I wouldn't know its liara.

I'm not going to rage, I'm only going to critique it.  Comparing this final version to the artists rendition  here

I just want to point out that the shoulders from the artists perspective are in a much more natural position, set back and squared off.  I don't know why the Sculptor thought it nessecary to for Liara to pose in such an uncomfortable position of crushing her breasts together in the original prototype, and then keeping that arched arm position when he reduced her bust size, but it looks strange to me.  It's unfortunate that the face just seems to be a carbon copy anime figurine face, with sharp angles and a slightly unfitting forehead, but with that and  the strange choice in shoulder posture set aside it is a remarkable rendition of her Armored Dress from the Shadow Broker DLC and her equipment.

As for the breasts being crushed together, maybe she was just trying to crack open a walnut? They have those on the Citadel don't they?  She certaintly wasn't trying to drink coffee

edit: whoops, I guess embedding images in words doesn't work the same way on this forum.

Wow, it's sad to look at the artists rendition, and look at the prototype.

I much preferred the artist's version than the actual statue.

sry, even with the new modified feature the statue does not rapresent liara. The face is too different, but mainly concerns go the feel of what that face espress:
the real liara in me1 is very shy, in me2 she grows up and becomes "darker", deeply affected by the negative experiences she had to recover shep body and fight the shadow broker. In that statue she looks charming and have a conscoius sexy stare and pose that really does not fit with the character.
Also the previous version with giant boobs was redicolous, and still the face is so very different.
I'll never be interested in this statue.

The statue is nice, not bad or horrible in anyway, it's just not Liara is all. The artist's work though I liked more that the actual statue itself.

I wouldn't have known that that was supposed to be Liara if I hadn't read that it was supposed to be Liara. As a Liara figure it is an utter failure.

I know a couple of anime fans who play the ME games and they really don't like this figure
