Short "Read me" about that "Best community modules", a list by the community:

This is your list. You wrote most of it along those years in these forums.
My fingers only pieced together the whole.
You're more than welcome to post any comments, spelling corrections, etc... right below.
But the most important: your module suggestions.
Just about any community module you trully enjoyed or find mising.
The only rule: providing the author's link to his/her "submissions page" on the vault...
if it's available... (not that easy)
I'm fully aware of the subjectivity, if not partiality, of such an unexaustive list. :innocent:
But I always wanted an easy list, right in the heart of these forums, where it was born.
About if we write it together, to soften any possible wounds?

My only concern? The new NWN players, for an easy pick-up, under the Ancients care.
Yoda, yoda.

It now appears that list won't ever reach the "Stickies", from the only one response I got from our moderators, after PMing any single one of them.
Sorry for the new players.
I only hope it won't go to deep in the bottom of the NWN oceans, for them to enjoy the luxuriousness of the Vault.
Always in my signature anyway.
With my most sincere respects to the community and its authors.

I personally still consider that list as "active", and shall keep updating it according to your suggestions, as always...
and some of mine.

Game on! :P

I must say this Return to Ravenloft + Ravenloft, Beyond the Gate, by Firestarter[/list]series are even better than I first thought. It's so very smart, only a bit light on the storyline maybe...
Well, for those who like jumping from an idea to a better one. Full of surprises. And I love those henchies. Very funny dialogs and situations once in while.
'talking for the second part mostly, but be warned: it's huge, it seems it will never stops (I'm near reaching level 20 for those who like epic stories).
I'm quite surprised I never read much about such a creative module.

Good idea... There are a few modules on that list I didn't know about !

A few suggestions :

-Revenant by McV : brilliant, very atmospheric, highly replayable.
-Bloodright the Blood Royal by Scott Kurkul : huge sprawling nonlinear city adventure.
-Runes of Blood by MadWombat : epic adventure, great design, balancing and polish.

Going in. 2 of those I've already played, and I'd give a try at Scott Kurkul's piece some time but they're going in on your good behalf anyway.

Community thanks!
And my personnal ones for coming up with the links already. ;-)

Updating:

Breaking Bad, by Darren Strickland, another 2011 module going in.
That one is of the crazy type, for "les amateurs du genre"...
Even if I can't get off my mind some "déjà-vu" kind of feelings about it, memories from some older modules...

Eye of the Beholder is going in the list, even if I haven't finished it yet. A blast.
I'm not a dungeon crawler fanatic myself but that one is such a beautifully designed one, with many funny ideas everywhere and the latest 1,69.
Almost 100% Hack & Slash, with many opportunities for tacticals choices...
A huge hak file (something around 1,5 Go once decompressed?), but so worth the weight.

(a bit heavy maybe for multi?)

Wanted to say 'thank you.' This kind of list is invaluable, what with the sheer number of mods out there. I really appreciate a heads up on what's good and what is...well, not. I'll be using this list extensively. Wish I was more gifted at the technical aspects of mod making. Being somewhat of a writer I would love to see more mods in this community with better story line and dialogue. Nice work.

1000 thanks. If you're into writing yourself, mochamage, I suggest you give one of your first shot at the saga in my signature...

Now, 'taking the opportunity to add a new one:

Gladiatrix II - In the Shadows of Darkness
I haven't played it myself, since my new comp doesn't allow NWN1 to enlighten my life anymore, but the Part 1 was such a blast...!

Have fun, my NWN1 friends.

FA1 Halls of the High King got a recent (last cold weather) rebuild. It's another top notch effort from Udasu

Just for the records, my links take you to the author's page, not to one only particular module he made, but all of them.
Now, it's always good to mention one you especially care about. This is how I picked up most of the modules I played in my beloved and always missed NWN1 days...

Holy cats, jml, figure out how to boot your PC or Mac or mobile phone or whatever under Windows and play NWN again! I can't believe the injustice of such a true NWN enthusiast being locked out of the game because of some technical vexation... :o

I might, dear Z, I might...
Since my "technical upgrade", there is not one single other game, even from the latest ones I could play for more than a couple of hours. NWN2 is beautiful, but too techy to make you the hero. There is always a keyboard heaviness between you and your fate.
Probably also because I know our NWN1 like the bottom of my heart, since this is where it lives, most certainly...
Nothing like this community and its modules, and the lightness and purity of the game, which frees you enough to listen to the words and musics only...

A dream, like when a dream come true.
It's possible.
Just like with the best forms of art.
NWN1 is like a Picasso, only it makes you the painter.
You're painting, not only watching.
Do you paint, Z? Oh, sorry, I should have known even some one like you could have some flaws...
Well, you should. :P

That makes me realise what that list is actually about: a key to another NWN1.
Pretentious?
Always.
Our first duty.
Or is that ambitious...

And I'm so proud... I can't think of another word if I want to be truly honest... seeing that list being of any use...

Get an old PC, from around the time when Windows Vista was new, install Windows XP and NWN on it, and you'll be back in the game.

I play on Win7, and am as Techless as one can get. But once a few folks helped guide me to alter Resolution changes, and play in Windows mode, it is almost like old times.

Currently using screen at 1920 x 1080; game at 1360 x 768 60 hz (using Alt/ Enter to get into play mode).

Hope you can return soon!

What Empyre65 said. It's what I did out of economic necessity, and XP works like a champ.

Jml, I am well into Gladiatrx (1), and just saw your mention of it. Enjoying it most of the ones recently started. Hope you can make your way back into the fray. Every battle needs its troubadour to lift the hearts of the war weary.
