Ok, this is becoming really annoying. My system specs are following:

 XP, Direct X 9.0
  Intel® Pentium® 4 CPU 2.40GHz 2399 MHz
1.49 gb
ATI Radeon XD 3600 CATALYST 10.10
SoundMAX Digital Audio  5.12.1.3630

Its digital (EA store) version, patch 1.02, Kasumi, Zaeed and AAP installed.
Ok, maybe these are not best possible specs around, but I  haven't had any problems for my previous playthroughs. Now I've encountered two major issues - the infamous HUD bug and now this:
I did couple of loyalty missions, recruited Thane and was talking to him about some drell stuff when screen went black. No sound either. I waited for a min, then decided to restart the game. Only now I am screwed - even with uninstalling/reinstalling I can get as far as the first loading screen, then I click "play", it disappers and then... nothing.
I have not altered my game in any way and I couldn't find any similar bug reports.
I have tried to put all necesary information in my post according to *Read First*, but pls let me know if any important stuff is missing. thnks.

Minimum requirements call for a Core2 Duo, not a Pentium 4.
Your system is underspec to run the game, and as such have probably caused damage to your system by pushing it beyond its capabilities.

All of the Radeon HD 36xx graphics cards are getting relatively elderly now, so that in addition to a very low quality CPU, you may also have gotten into territory very familiar to Geforce card owners, when drivers stop supporting various games for the oldest of their GPU models, and for some older games, totally, for all GPU models.

You need to determine what is different now, from whenever the game last ran at a level you were willing to put up with. Your symptom is one that is often associated with failing or inadequate power supplies, so test for that, and for whether a rollback to a somewhat older driver might also assist.

To everyone who is recommending underspec system - I have specifically confirmed this driver is capable of running the game with EA representative. I have also updated Radeon like half an hour ago. Still no luck.
(And this game was running perfectly like two weeks ago== this is what pisses me off most)

Oh, wait, I managed to fix the problem myself. Somehow. by a very weird combination of clicking on different direct X options.

That part of the reply makes no sense at all.  A Pentium 4 was a ten year old failed architecture that was replaced five years ago now by the CoreDuo family.  No one would ever "recommend" using such a terrible piece of garbage for ANYTHING.

EA is well known for hiring the stupidest, most ignorant, worthless support techs they can find.  You just reached a typical Know-nothing variety of moron there.  An intelligent and properly prepared tech would have advised you at least well enough so you wouldn't mis-use the tern "driver" as if it was an item of hardware.

Your CPU is crap.  That's an actual fact.  It won't run the game the way that a proper processor would, so you are obviously satisfied with third best, instead of what the game's developers intended.  Then, you made some sort of error that screwed everything up.  We can't reach back in time and across the miles to know what silly thing (assumed, although not in evidence) you did to ruin playing that to us was already ruined.

I am very pleased that you are happy with the game, of course, but you should understand that there are truths out there that you are trying to deny, however, they are very real.
