I wish the game had a permanent party. I could not play it very long because I got tired of switching out my pawns.

That's part of the fun, though!

A lot of us here in this thread have added each other as XBL friends - which means we can rent each other's pawns for free. It keeps things interesting, and it doesn't cost any of us a thing.

Me too. I'm glad you're here! I'm glad we're all here! Warm fuzzies. Posted Image

Yeah March! Feel free to add me as an Xbox live friend. (Gamertag in my signature.)

@motomoto - I have Seel and Tsurisuta with me right now. Got screenshots too (will upload once I am on my desktop). Be sure to take a nap with Seel's Arisen before switching back to Arya. I am sending a few goodies. ;)

Aww... thank you for taking him for a spin <3 I really like him and can't wait till he's higher level (and when I can reconstruct his face a little lol)

Yeah, I admit, I took Briana and Shinon when I went to fight Awakened Daimon, and I knew I was close to taking out Death...so I figured I might want as much hp and horsepower as I could get. I'm feeling more confident with my Arisen, now, so I'll make a point of taking lower-level pawns along...

I'll be playing in a couple of hours. Gotta watch Project Runway!

Another Project Runway fan?! :o Now you all know why I was no on last night LOL Addicted to that show.

And no worries; it's great just having the opportunity to rent such high level pawns.

Is Arya a mage? I've been running around all of Gransys with an Arya who is a mage. Been doing it for the last three playthroughs!

Ummmmm... *embarrassed look* No! That's not my Arya! My username is motomotogirl, and my Arisen's name is Dai. That's definitely NOT my Arya! LOL! She has never been a mage. She is usually a fighter/warrior, but she's building up her strider skills currently. I have yet to add you to XBL *facepalm* It's just so hard to remember. HOPEFULLY I will remember tonight, IF I get a chance to play. No plans tonight currently.

I was messing with a new photo app, suddenly geeked out and made this:

Cheesy as crap, but now I know how to make text and shapes. Deep down we all feel this silly about our pawns. :-)

Lol!!! That's so funny! She was always walking in and out of my rift, and her creator was on my friend list. I assumed she was yours! Someone stole her name! You better go smack a b*tch. Jk. ;-)

Btw, dude I can add you in a bit.

To everyone:

The secret to my success in these BBI battles:

Using your "infinity" level pawns
Stockpiles of bottled spring water
Wakestones

^ Waa, that leaves Gabrielle out. However...we got up to level 180 last night, so we're getting close.

I never use spring water, except to fix rotten kept food.

I'm finally to the point that we don't really need Wakestones, unless I do something stupid. Posted Image

So the lvl. 2 weapon trick didn't work. :P You change to similar vocations before you do the purification which I did, but the trick on the wiki (part of someones blog) didn't work. Here was what I got no matter what lvl. 2 item(s) I tried with:

For Red vocation (doesn't matter the combo) - two of the Mystic Knight shields
For Yellow vocation - two black wing magick bows (or whatever they are called...lol)
For Blue - two Sanguine Stalks

For Assassin + Ranger - one magic bow, one Revenant Wail
For Mystic Knight + Warrior - one MK shield, one Sanguine Stalk
For MA + Ranger - One Revenant Wail, one magick bow; same as Assassin + Ranger. This was the combo I took. At least I can stand to have two Revenant Wails (since I like running Ranger, even if Chase is Ranger at the same time).

Well, I guess that will just encourage me to keep kicking AD's backside. :D :D

I used to use a lot of Spring Water when I first started fighting the Ur-Dragon (it was much easier/cheaper to get lots of, than Balmy's). Now, I just carry a couple of Auspicious potions just in case. With so many of the recruited pawns picking up Lordly Tonics and Godly (??), they don't need much mass healing anymore.

I also stopped toting a bunch of tonics for debilitations and whatnot. Now I carry a handful of Sobering Wines. If everyone is dealing with debilitations, I have Ulee toss one of those puppies back. It instantly takes care of any current debilitations, and protects against new ones for a short time. *thumbsup* :)

I read the blurb on the wiki about it, and it seems to say two different things. At first it sounds like you have to purify a bunch of lv2 weapons until you get the type you want, then godsbane and purify them again except toss in a single lv3 weap at the end. But then in a later paragraph it says if you, for example, purify 5 lv2 weapons and get what you want on the fifth, you'd need five weapon lv3s to get what you want. I've never done it, I actually got lucky with the weapons right out of the gate. It makes up for my lack of Oblivion Coats and half of the Carrion set.

For Red vocation (doesn't matter the combo) - two of the Mystic Knight shields
For Yellow vocation - two black wing magick bows (or whatever they are called...lol)
For Blue - two Sanguine Stalks

^Disregarding the lv2 weapon trick, which I have no experience with, it seems like you just got unlucky and got the same set twice - Diabolic Shield/Blackwing Bow/Sanguine Stalk. It happens.

There are only four yellow weapons - Frammies, Blackwing Bow, Darkening Storm and Revenant Wail. If you purify something and it ends up being a "base vocation" weapon for another color, like Dominion Claw (a mage weapon), you can assume that the yellow weapon in that set is either a Darkening Storm (strider bow) or the Framae Blades, which are also base vocation weapons.

edit: wait a minute...

For Assassin + Ranger - one magic bow, one Revenant Wail
For Mystic Knight + Warrior - one MK shield, one Sanguine Stalk

The fact that you got a Revenant Wail intrigues me. The set was clearly Diabolic Shield/Blackwing Bow/Sanguine Stalk... perhaps there is something to this manipulation thing.

^ Those instructions are confusing to begin with, but the way it works is even more so. I usually just purify and hope for the best with level 2 weapons. I've had pretty good luck with level 3.

You still don't have the full Oblivion or Carrion sets? I'll gift you some level 3 armors.

Hmmm.....I saw that about the 5 items bit, but was following the first set of instructions (well, the first one I saw). I was actually really excited at first. I had two lvl. 2 weapons in storage, and got the two lvl. 3 weapons yesterday. So, I started by switching our vocations, and purifying just the lvl. 2 weapons. (I didn't bother checking for strickly blue vocations, since I am well set with those weapons). Here were the results (if I am recalling correctly):

Assassin/Ranger - Dragon's Roost and the Glaze longbow
Assassin/Warrior - Dragon's Roost and Bolt Bringer Longsword
Ranger/Ranger - the Glaze bow and the MA Tempest bow
MA/Ranger - two tempest bows
All red - same as Assassin/Warrior

Since I didn't see anything that would translate to the Framae Blades, I decided that the Assassin/Warrior mix had the most potential (need/want both the Dead Aspis and the Bitter End)

Alas.....it wasn't so. :(
:P

@Shepen - I too was surprised at the combo's I was getting and the duo of MK shields. O.o But that's what I rolled. >.< I did try again with another lvl. 2 just for giggles....it did nothing. I guess I will stick with prayers to the gaming gods, and sacrifice my cats one by one till I get my blades/shield/longsword. *snort*

:D :D :D

She's a Ranger again, so hopefully that won't deter you from hanging out with her again.

Speaking of Joe...he's going to join our Daimon-killing adventure this evening. I'll let you know how it goes!

Man, I've been deep, deep, deep in the bowels of BBI fighting my way through with Woolie and Adile (another friend's pawn). It has been all business - just farming the crap out of these tough guys. I'm only level 79 (I think) so I get my butt handed to me on the smaller bosses. I do not know what this Daimon or Ur Dragon or anything is and I'm certain they would cream me and Joe.

The Ur Dragon is in post-game Everfall, so if you're in BBI, you won't have to worry about him.

I don't know; Joe's been getting some good training in, so he might surprise you, when it gets to the tougher enemies.

Once you defeat Daimon, and go back through BBI from the beginning, every area has tougher (and more) enemies. When you get to the Fallen City, Daimon is in the next area (through the big doors; you can't miss them).

Oh I know he's in the Everfall. (I'm multitasking between DD and BI campaigns.) Which is strange b/c I never ran into him when I beat DD the first time. But eh that was a year ago, and you said post-game, so maybe that's why. My memory is poor. But I've heard stories about how impossible he is to beat! I totally want to try, but I'm also nervous, lol.

And yes - I heard BBI post-Daimon makes the map layout change. That's true?

Yeah, the Ur Dragon is in the Chamber of Lament in the Everfall. You can either fight him in online or offline mode. He'll fly away after a bit of time (or damage, not sure which), so you don't have to worry about sitting there for hours and hours, fighting him.

Nah, the map stays the same. It's just the enemies that change.

The last time I went to fight him, and he was almost dead, I had to keep going back, over and over and over, and when he did finally die, I got a couple of maces and a bunch of wakestones. Kinda wasn't worth it, for the hassle. Although I do know some people have gotten some great gear from it.

The Ur-Dragon can be kind of fun. I have fought him online and off. Got lucky once and killed him in the Grace period, so I got the Abyssal Coat, Grieves, Gauntlets and one Mask (Seigfried). BTW, I have taken Joe to fight the Ur-Dragon offline.

@happy - you should take a stab at the Ur-Dragon again (offline so as to see quick results). The dragon will stick around till killed or eight minutes, which ever come first. And you can run to the Inn, sleep, and finish him off after that. His health doesn't regen. The funny thing is, now he is a complete push over. LOL. You can take him down in 8 minutes no problem. Spamming Hunter with a Magick ARcher, and he will go down in no time. :D Makes ya feel a little "godly". heh!
