Sooo Shinon just got munched on by this tentacle thing that popped out of a chest. One thing I did miss about Shinon (hadn't use him for awhile) is his delight at rushing to the nearest chest and popping it open. Knew one day that would only bite him in the *ss.

8D I watch enough anime that I can catch the gist of what they're saying. And like you guys pointed out, it's always the same darn thing over and over lol

I put it on J. voices mainly for romances purposes. I can't take any of the characters seriously with their dreadful E. voices. But the J. voice actors are... pretty sexy, to be honest. And professional.

Hmm, well, Shinon got scythed by Death. And I got another Blackwing Bow, and more Grave gear, but I Godsbaned. I might see if there are any weapons I'm missing, and try to get one of those. Otherwise, I have a couple of level 3 armors, if anyone is interested.

I'll check in tomorrow.

I choose to believe he sensed that there was a maneater in that chest and bravely chose to risk death rather than put your arisen in danger.

He actually never opens chests on my game, because my arisen shoves him out of the way and shouts MINE when she sees a chest, even though she has whatever's in the chest already. Out of the 102 maneaters my stats screen says I've fought, I'd guess about 97 of them were chomping on my arisen. 

Oh, and maneaters are restricted to certain chests. Once you've been through BBI a few times, you'll know which ones they are and will be ready for them. Those chests aren't always maneaters, mind.

That's all I'm sayin'. Shinon's English voice is quite nice too. Hopefully he doesn't sound silly in Japanese.

I can't use the Japanese voices. If I don't know what they're saying, my eyes will instinctively flick to the subtitles, which is not something I need to happen during battles. Yes, they're saying complete garbage 100% of the time, but I'd prefer my garbage to be in English. Just easier that way.

Trista, I gifted Joe some materials, so you could 3-star his gear. Sadly, I didn't have much in the way of actual gear to give him. Most of the stuff I've been picking up is crap.

He sounds wonderful. All the Japanese voices are great. They know what they're doing; they're professionals... I think they got the English voice actors off the street 

Shinon, Chase, and Seel have the same voice, I noticed. And I think Thomas, too. Of our girls, Briana, Gabs, and Arya all have different voices, which is kind of nice Briana's voice sounds very snarky. Gabs is sweet (I like how she sighs after a battle, too... she goes, "Whew..." very softly). Arya is more mature, and thoughtful. 

The best voices in the game for NPCs (in Japanese) are Reynard and I have to say Fournival's VA does a really great job. He sounds skeevy and rich and wheedling. It's perfect. But Reynard's J. voice is just downright sexy.

Oh, meant to add, this is shocking!!  LOL Seriously, my Arisen cannot get to that chest fast enough to beat Shinon. "Kore wa... (something something in Japanese)" he exclaims in that enthusiastic voice of his, as he jogs swiftly and manfully towards the chest, not waiting even a second before bending down and lifting the top open with a flourish. 

I went to take a screenshot of the maneater event (decided not to since my screenshots never come out nice for some reason) but I noticed Arya and my Arisen just standing idly in the background, their weapons not even drawn. It was like they were saying, We told this would happen, Shinon. WE TOLD YOU.

Just fought a dragon in The Pilgrim's Gauntlet (thank goodness for wakestones) and some of my items became dragon forged! So chuffed.

Also met Death, didn't run away this time (I have Briana in the party and she knows her stuff), only managed to get a tiny ****** off his health bar before he disappeared. He's gonna be tough!

Also I accidentally killed a deer :-( They squeak.

@Trista - Do you mean Zelda? I still haven't finished the Twilight Princess, primarily because it's on the Wii. Not keen on the controllers. I always seem to have several games on the go. My aim is to eventually finish Assassin's Creed!

@Trista, which Persona are you playing? I played 3 and 4, and my husband has been playing 1 or 2 on his Vita. Speaking of which, I told him I'd play some Dead Island: Riptide with him this weekend...haven't yet, though.

I have a bunch of other games to finish, too. It would be a long list, I'm afraid.

Yes, you should do BBI again. Hehe. Just think, the 1st time will be a walk in the park now that you've gone through it before. I've been going back and forth between the vanilla game and BBI. It's dang inconvenient that Asalam and Montebauk are so far from the Gran Soren rift stone.

@moto - the boys are all using voice #1, which is Troy Baker. They did NOT just get him off the street, are you kidding? 

He voiced Kanji from Persona 4, Booker Dewitt in Bioshock Infinite, Joel from The Last of Us, and lots of other stuff. He's also going to be in the new Infamous game, I believe.

I agree, though, that it's nice to have different pawn voices. I recruit Briana often for that reason. And Woolie - who doesn't love a big, cuddly black sorcerer?

The DD servers have been a bit weird. Just went to a riftstone and there were two Chases'. One looked like the real Chase, the other one ... just looked different. And all the pawns (apart from Shinon and Briana) were linked to the wrong gamertag. Just weird!

Well, I didn't play much last night.....tired. And I suspect my sleepy state, also made me a tad silly. I shaved my arisen's head, and turned her stubble back to light pink. Also gave Chase light pink hair, cuz reasons. XD

Regarding voices, I fall into Shepen's camp. If I hear a language I don't understand, my eyes will immediately seek out subtitles. Besides, I actually like the English speaking voices for the most part. It's just the dialogue that is truly goofy, IMO.

@newschmoo - I too have killed a number of deer. I tried so hard not to in the beginning. But, I guess after excepting those damnable quests (kill x number of rabbits, kill x number of oxen, kill x number of stags), I guess I got de-sensitized. *eep* >.>
