Hmm. I might have to check Speedrun out sometime.

I really don't need pawns now in vanilla Gransys, tbh. But I've been farting around with Tsurisuta and Arya, to give them some more experience with beasts and quests.

Speaking of which, we were in the Watergod's Altar, and after a fight, both Arya and Gabrielle did a really weird battle cry/grunt and squat action. The funny thing is that they did it completely in sync, right next to each other. I was kicking myself something fierce that I didn't get a screenshot of it.

What the heck is that? I don't think I've ever seen Gabs do that before. Is Arya a bad influence? Posted Image

I'm so confused... what just happened LOL

I've seen Arya squat (that's not very ladylike, Arya...) but no one else. So I thought it was a warrior thing. Evidently not!!

First time I saw the squatting animation I thought it was some glitch where Marcurio was taking over the animations of a Goblin.

@COLDY!!! your dog! :::dies:::

So cute.

As for the hunting rabbit/deer quests - I hate them. Shooting birds too. I hate that. I used to own birds. Can't shoot them in DD. It's messed up. I also hate those games that make you kill innocent people - e.g. a daedric quest in Skyrim "House of Horrors" to get the mace of molag bal. You have to ruthlessly kill an innocent person. It's sick.

Play on hard mode and use low level gear. The game is still easy, but not lolroflcurbstomp easy.

Question for you - when you do Speedrun Mode, what exactly does it entail? Is it just the MQ?

And that's a good point. I should switch over to hard mode. I'm up to level 192 (or 193?), so I would like to think I could do it, with no issues.

Does anyone know the payoff of Speedrun? What's the motivation? Does it unlock something cool?

Yeah I didn't do that quest. It bothers me that the quest never disappears because I'm OCD like that and try to clean our my quest list every now and then, but there are so many quests in Skyrim to begin with that you can't possibly finish in one playthrough (like you have to join the mage academy for one of them, which I don't want to do, so that quest prompt is just stuck there).

^ It will disappear if you complete the game, and do NG+.

I was relieved when I finished the game, and started over, and saw that those stupid Under a Different Sky quests were gone. I had a few that I couldn't do once I beat Grigori, so they were stuck in my quest list.

Ooh, I just saw this in the wiki. I might have to try this, just to kill some Strigoi. Posted Image

Note: Entering Daimon's chamber and then exiting after the initial storyline defeat will cause enemies to spawn in the city, including Corrupted Pawns and Strigoi. Bloodred Crystals and Strigoi Barb craftng components are found here.

That's listed under Daimon's First Form.

I think moto meant the skyrim quests. Lol they're permanently stuck in your quest log. So annoying! I understand moto's OCD-ness. :-)

I'm only up to Level 19 or something in Skyrim and the amount of quests I've accumulated is huge! I'll never finish them all. I too will never kill an innocent human and try not to kill animals (but I have done it by accident) :innocent:

Saying that there are quite a few quests in DD. One day I will complete the Under a Different Sky ones (there are so many to find though).

@bionuts - nice pawn!

Depending on how much you fast travel, that takes about 300 hours. More if you do DLC. And of course, even more with the radiant quests that just keep going. Funny, because I have the equivalent number of hours racked up in my Lielle/Gabrielle run of DD:DA.

I don't get too worked up about the killing. It's a game, and I wouldn't do it in real life. That said, the Molag Bal quest (and the Vaermina one for that matter) aren't a big deal to me.

The Boethiah one is. For the longest time, when I did that quest, I sacrificed Belrand. I have 18 characters, and completed that quest in probably...8 of them. Then I found out later how awesome of a follower he is. Total facepalm.

You're so right - it is just a game. But I will be the first to admit that I'm a big baby. I become very immersed in the video games I play. (Ever watch your player character fall from a tall height and you get that funny/falling sensation in your belly? The newer Zelda games will do that to me.)

That happened like every ten seconds in Borderlands for me, since your character can survive a drop from any height, and a lot of the time, falling was a lot quicker than climbing back down a huge structure.

It's a funny feeling, isn't it?

Happy and Newschmoo, you're gifting rocks. I got three from Happy and one from Newschmoo. Save swapping goodness! I wonder what's the "safe" time to start gifting after you change saves?

@Bionuts - I heart the Blackwing Bow. You're not stuck with the thunder enchantment of the dragon's tempest, which is good. Although now that I think about it, I don't use basic attacks that much, so it doesn't make that much of a difference. Well, aside from the 300-point boost to magick attack. Which is tasty.

I kinda figured that might be the case. That thing I gifted Shinon was probably total crap, for that very reason. I'll start giving real gifts after I've been back on this profile for a little longer. I think it's been about 20 hours since I switched characters, as of right now.

Nooooo, not Belrand!

I agree, he is an awesome follower. I love spellswords, my Altmer character is one too, so they married! (I have to confess to using a mod so he looks somewhat different ^_^ ).  I haven't come across the Boethiah quest yet though.

I do get far too distracted in that game. As I do in DD:DA. 300 hours, that's amazing!  I have clocked up 119 hours so far, longest amount of time I have spent on any game. And I'm only level 65!  I think I fartarse around too much.

Edit - oh no, gifting rocks is not good. It's a shame that happens. Is it because my save was from my usb stick?
