The Ogres in Dragon's Dogma:

"Ooo! A female! I shall take her, I shall pet her, I shall squeeze her, I shall name her Georgina and she will be mine!"

I can just imagine a Ogre killing off all the males in a party and kidnapping the female. After all the squeezing and hugging he snaps her spine and kills her by accident but continues to go around Ogreville showing her off - while holding her corpse in his right hand - to the other dimwitted Ogres. He only throws her away once she starts rotting and that's when he goes out to find a new female. Hell, the only reason you see Ogres in the game world is because they're hunting down females.

They aren't evil creatures and killing them moves your alignment downward towards evil so don't do it!

I would guess they are kind of like babies. If a baby spills something, we don't really blame it, so I guess Ogres are treated with that same standard. Hell, I wouldn't want to have one anywhere around me, but that KIND OF does make sense that it would change your alignment. Anyways, I like how Capcom is taking risks with that, if Elton's analysis is correct.

If there is alignment, I go 100% red/dark side/evil/opposite of goody goody... Whatever you want to call it, it doesn't matter how killing things affect it if it exists.

Ogre Killer in this case would sound even more sweeter as a title.

LOL I was joking! But the Ogres don't sound as though they are evil. They seem like mindless beasts and before the player encountered it in the Catacombs, it was digging against some wall. It's not like it was actively hunting the player. What made it laugh though was when the camera zoomed up to it and some pawn shouted out "This creature is interested in women!"

There is some type of alignment system though. Kill innocents and perform evil actions and your charisma decreases.

http://gnews.com/dra...13201104115014/

NPC's have an affiliation of you and I'd imagine low charisma lowers it for all NPC's. I'd like to know what happens if you get NPC affiliation to the lowest point possible. Would some NPC's refuse to talk to you? Would main quest NPC's change their attitude towards you?

Pax Gameplay:
(It's poor quality but the person playing states in the description that it's pretty f**king good. He's not a jounalist either and thus I'll trust what he's saying here. A lot of people who played the demo last year and this year have actually enjoyed playing it which is good news IMO)

Oh and according to this thread on Gamespot, here are some more new features:

-They confirmed that there are higher leveled versions of enemies.(kinda already obvious)
-Assassins can have dual swords
-They explored an underground cave(entrance was a big hole in the ground) it lead into the Shadow Fort battle we've seen twice now.
-Explosive rivet(magick archer skill) is great, it fires projectile that lodge into enemies then explode.

-We got to see some of Devilfire Grove, it seems cool and barren.
-There was iron blade pieces and rusty daggers materials, probably for upgrading but who knows.
-Immolation is not to be used lightly.
-You can trick cyclops into attacking each other.
-Ballista duels are fun
-Attacking the eye weakpoint of club wielding cyclops is a double edged sword.

-You can leave warp stones at specific places in an area if you want to use a ferry stone to teleport back to that specific spot.
-They came across some RDR style random quests while traveling from the Shadow fort back to Gran Soren at night, freed some bound people from goblins.
-They explored an ancient quarry
-Ogres in tight areas are deadly even alone.
-Spiders in close tight, dark spaces...
-Ogres don't play around, hide your women.

-Ogres are aggressive and persistent(last Ogre talk).
-There are traveling peddlers
-Boulders are sneaky
-We can punch (Elton John is Dead note: Good!)

Would they attack you? Change quests?

But that's not really an alignment system and sounds more punishing.

Yeah, that's one of the new trailers released, the other one is the undead trailer:

http://www.el33tonli...binding_creepy/

New screen shots are included within that article as well. I love how the wizard just catches one of the rats and throws it. It seems the rats don't actually attack the player but rather annoys them. This makes more sense really.

Capcom up to their tricks I see? I thought they would treat a new IP different and at least lay off this stuff for the first game but it seems not. It makes me wonder what else will be DLC. If the ending is a cliff hanging then you can bet to God Almighty that the ending will be concluded in the "The Real Ending DLC" that releases for £5 or something.

I bet this DLC is is disc locked too.

Previously it was announced that the Xbox 360 would be getting an 8 quest DLC pack before the PS3:

http://www.xbox360ac...-360-First.html

Day one DLC too? I'm not sure I want to be part of this shoddy operation. It's not okay. I wonder how much rage will unleash upon the internet when the majority discover this. People were killing themselves over ME3's day one DLC which was just that extra character gueezer. I wonder what the reaction to this will be...

The top site may not be trustworthy. For all we know it could be lying as no other site has mentioned it but the second site is trustworthy and with that DLC already confirmed...well that speaks for itself really. If more sites start mentioning that 100 quest pack DLC and source it then I guess that'll confirm it.

Back to Dark Souls if that's the case I guess.

100 sidequests as DLC? Is Capcom serious?

This is why I don't think buying a Capcom game on day one is a good thing.

I'm not exactly sure why you guys are making a big deal about this. First of all, this is Capcom. Second, they've made it known for months that there would be DLC with this game. Third, nowhere does it say that 100 quest or whatever DLC is day one. For all you know it could just be a code for future content. And frankly I doubt it would be anything good. Probably fetch quests and kill x amount of these creatures type quests. My point is that we all knew there would be DLC attached to this game, so why you're all "screw this game" now seems irrational to me.

I am not defending Capcom at all, but I am defending this Dragon's Dogma. Frankly I don't care who the publisher is; this looks like it's exactly the kind of game I'm interested in and excited to play, and believe me I'm picky about my games, so I'm still going to buy it. There's nothing wrong with that, just as there's nothing wrong with waiting until some sort of ultimate edition comes out.

I'm with you on this one. There way too many positives I've seen with this game to be overwritten with DLC like every game now does. It's common practice now, and if that's a means for losing interest in a game, you'd wind up only buying indie games.

What ever happened to just wanting to play an awesome game?

That's exactly what Dragon's Dogma looks like. I don't see the same thing that happened to Spectral Force 3 and The Last Remnant where the price was dropped to 20 bucks just after a couple months. Yes, I was upset, but with SF3 at least, I feel like I was doing something good for the company that localized the game.

I remember back in the day when a game like this was unlikely to make it outside of Japan. So, I consider ourselves lucky we'll even get to play such a game.

Its hard to feel optimistic when capcom continues their ****ty DLC habit.

The problem with this DLC announcement is that it suggests the content is probably already on the disc. This makes me wary and makes me thing what other plans Capcom have for DD. Will they also be releasing an ending DLC for DD? I don't want to spend 100 hours in the game building my character and party up and completing quests and then getting involved in the story and characters only for the ending to be a cliff-hanger which is to be concluded in digital DLC which I would never buy.

Prince of Persia did this and I sold the game. You shouldn't have to pay extra for the real ending.

So long as the main quest and the story is completed within the game I'll be happy.

New trailer:

This trailer shows a cockatrice which can turn people to stone. It seems to be tied up in the story judging by the events in the trailer so there's a few small spoilers.

Personally I prefer someone more like Korra, but I like the example provided above.

Edit: Note she has abs as well, just hidden under her shirt.

Busty is optional, i'm mostly burned out on busty considering almost every single game, book, movie, etc, has a busty/ overtly sexualized woman.
I agree that the ladies need more muscles, at least as an option! I just get tired of men being ripped and muscly while women are always, ALWAYS skinny with unmarred skin. Give them some scars, show that they live in a tough world. It takes some serious musce to wear heavy armor and weapons, and hell it even takes some muscle to wield a bow.

From the screen shots DD already has plus points with me when it comes to armor, the women don't just get chainmail bikini's and actually look ready for a fight.

But every publisher is doing it. Does Exiled Prince, and Sacred Ashes ring a bell? All the major publishers are doing it, so it's kind of unfair to say that's a reason for not buying this game.

My reply was in jest. I prefer a smaller bust to a bigger one, but that's another topic altogetherI'm just glad we finally have a game that will allow you to build an athletic character like Korra without having to have a stock body type that is clearly designed to be "sexy."

Exactly, Capcom's business practices are disgraceful. My rights as a consumer, whether it be a video game, movie or book, is to have a complete product available when I buy it; and a complete video game has a beginning, middle and end, not £40 for the game, and extra £7 for what should already be included in what I payed for. If they go with that route then I'm probably going to wait till I get it pre-owned.

A "noble" gesture, if it wasn't a practice done widely across this entire medium. If the DLC issue is such a big deal, then out of principle you shouldn't play video games. EA, Capcom, Ubisoft, all do it, so it's nothing new. If it's weapon packs, I'm not interested. If it's story based, it depends how intriguing the story is to begin with.

I agree with both of you on this. While I see your point about his stance on DLC may be hypocritical with Mass Effect 3 and Dragon Age under his name, it comes off as extremely crass that Capcom are doing this with new IP's that haven't proved themselves yet. I know those other companies pull some bad stuff, but "true ending DLC" in a new IP? That's truely horrifying if that is direction big companies are going in, and makes me thankful for Double Fine for possibly starting the greatest thing in gaming.

I'm glad you replied, because you made spit my coffee out in laughter when you wanted an extremely fit women with huge boobs. But I am with, I am also tired of the preception that a character has to be built like a body builder in order to be strong. I actually like Skyrim's characters in this regard, becuase they have the mass and size from someone that worked hard for a living, as opposed to someone with a regulated diet and targeted weight training routine (in a time with neither, no less). That character is a million times better than the one pictured above, what is it from?
