All right. New outfit for Seel! :D I only spent about... two hours piecing it together and enhancing the individual parts.

Why do I play this game again?

EDIT: Buddies <3

So I'm godsbaning in the Midnight Helix like it's going out of style....getting gray hairs and falling asleep as I do it, and I am thinking.....maybe I SHOULD finish the game out, and go NG+. Yes, I would be a follower, but I can live with that. lol! I am just tired of the colors. I end up spending most of my time BBI, with a bit of Everfall on the side, because I am so tired of looking at sick colored skies, and everything being dark and dull.....:P

Should I do it? Should I????

Oh.....and nice outfit on Seel. *thumbsup* :)

^ Definitely. :D It will reset BBI, so if you're cool with that, I say go for it! I'm curious who will show up in the book for you; you'll have to let us know!

Guess who just made it to Infinity? This girl!

In that snap, she'd just gotten thrown off of this guy. Have I mentioned lately how much I Posted Image Cursed Dragons? They've been busy dragonforging my crap. This time around, it was the Sultry Pareo and Alchemical Bangles.

AGHGHGGHGAHGAGH I didn't like Seel's new face, so I exited without saving... it tells me that the "metamorphosis scroll will not be used up." But it WAS. And I can't buy it again until post-game. Oh well. Seel is stuck with his face for now! lol

YAY Congrats Happy! And Gabs and ... Lielle? Right?

Yep, that's right. Thanks, you two! :)

@coldy, I know, isn't the ending great? I've done it 3 times in the past couple of weeks. Who is the dork now? LOL Gabs was in the squat position this last time, in Carrion Armor, so it was a touch close to revealing. Hehe.

WHAT. I finally did Witch Hunt for the first time, and the result is that suddenly Selene is in love with me?! I picked her up and threw her like ten times, and she still loved me. Finally I killed her. But it still says she has max affinity for me. *RAGES*

Dude, that happened to me three times. :-(

It happened even AFTER I gave my Arisen's Bond to Valmiro. Oh and there's that quest with the duchess. I had sex with her. Uhhh...

OMG. I'm so mad. Just, how do you murder someone and they still have max affinity for you.

Yeah, I knew not to do the duchess quest. Damn it. I'm so angry.

EDIT: I'm so mad I turned the game off and am going to bed LOL I don't understand how the only way to get the Arisen's Bond is to make a little girl fall in love with you or sleep with the duchess. WTF.

I know it may not seem like it, but you can still get someone different to be your final "true love". LOL! AND, do both those quests. The key for Aelinore (I found...), is throw her a bunch on her final quest at the Duke's Manse. Just bring wakestones....in case she falls down and goes boom-boom too often. XD

Selene....Selene can/may move in with you, but you can still avoid her as your main squeeze. When I was going for Max, I got him to a nice pink glowy affinity, finished out Witch Hunt, finished out the Duke's Manse, and made the Arisen's bond (forged it a few times for good measure). Selene was already living with me, but I just avoided talking to her (I didn't really need any more ale brewed...lol!) So, I waited until I finished Max's last quest (which is the escort quest to the wall), gave him the Arisen's bond, and viola! That Mr. Maxwell was all mine. :D :D :D

*chuckle*

In the end, I had both Max and Selene living with me. The best, would have been Reynard (or hell, even fatbastard Fournival). I would then have a potion maker AND a salesman living in my home. Easy-street, baby! ;)

@Trista - I like the way you think, woman. Oh, and take snooze when you get some play time in...

@happy - LOL!! Chase really DOES look seethingly jealous. Awww puppy! Here's a cookie....mama Ulee make it better.

I one time got Julien as the love interest. All because I wanted his shield.

@Happy - congrats on getting to infinity :wizard:

I got Chase in my book and he too was also in the squat position, as a warrior.  Looked a bit fierce!

I don't want to do the Witches Hunt if you end up with Selene in your house, because I don't need the Arisens Bond. But I missed that quest, so feel I should.  Damn!

@coldy - I did something similar with Ser Max, by doing all his quests, doing the escort one last and giving him an Arisen's Bond. Ended up with Julien :pinched:! Seems reviving someone from the dead trumps everyone else!

Hmm, well the thing about Selene is, I did go punch her a bit, and the "decrease affinity" sound happened. (Of course, I punched her too much and she died...) But when I checked History to see how many pawns had max affinity, it still said one male and one female (Selene). Apparently the punching didn't work?! I think I'll just punch her and make sure she doesn't die next time. Let her life come back... then punch her some more?? Ugh, it's just frustrating.

I have a check point that is pre-Witch Hunt. I might go to the Witchwood, beat her up a little, then take on her quest. Hopefully that might avoid the max affinity thing.

Your stats screen shows the number of people that at one time or another had max affinity. Killing them reduces their affinity to zero and they'll respawn in anywhere from three to seven days. Giving Liquid Effluvium also reduces affinity to zero, if you don't want to kill someone who's only guilty of lurving you.

Don't worry about what the stats screen says, only what happens when you talk to someone matters. A chime denotes moderately high affinity, while a chime and a pink aura is in love territory. A quick flash of some daggers or staves or what have you will lower affinity as needed. Talk to them afterward to see if the aura's still there, if so, hit 'em again.

According to the DD wiki:

Selene will move to your house in Cassardis after the quest Witch Hunt.

This does NOT mean she will end up being your love interest. Your love interest will also end up at your house after Grigori is killed, which means: if you have Selene as your love interest, only she will be at your house, but if you have someone else, there will be two persons at your house (Selene + your love interest).

^ I can confirm this is the case. Selene is always at my house after Grigori. Then again, so is Madeleine.

Plus, without being too spoilery, I think you should keep Selene around, for a better (real) ending.

All I know is that in my first run, I gave Barnaby everything but the kitchen sink, and found out later it was all for naught. Right now, I've got at least 5 males and 5 females with max affinity towards Lielle. I don't worry about it. In fact, I'm more interested in seeing how my luck will shake out...but every time, it's been Madeleine.

Let's be honest, is the "romance" really anything to write home about? Hehe.

Oh gosh, thank you so much for this info! Liquid Effluvium is apparently a DLC item or is only available via BBI. So I don't have it. If anyone has some, I'd be eternally grateful *bats eyes*

Yes, believe me, I did not enjoy beating up an innocent child (pawn... whatever. But she looks like a child!) I was just so angry last night. I'll punch her (sigh) again tonight, but not enough to kill her (this truly sounds horrific... the NSA is totally going to fly to my house and arrest me any second). Then talk to her and see if the chimes are still there. I know I threw her around A LOT and the chimes were still there, so. That's part of what made me so angry, because the same thing had happened with Quina, and all I had to do was throw her around a bit, and the chimes went away.

LOL... so true. But I know in my other playthrough I do get a little smile on my face every time I go "home" and have a happy blushing Reynard there to greet me (and buy my stuff, and three star my stuff).

^ Lucky you. I had my choice of thongs. Posted Image

Also, you can get Liquid Effluvium with BBI level 1 Novelty cursed gear. I have a million of those that I could send you.

I don't even bother purifying those anymore, unless I just want them out of my inventory, as I already have more of each thing than I could possibly use. At this point, I'm up over 200 Rancid Bait Meats. Really? I stopped picking those up altogether.

Plus, a lot of that stuff seems to be ignored by support pawns, if they should happen to pick up any of those items in a chest. Any one of them on their last legs could have a Godly Analeptic on them, and instead of using it, they'll just run around with a flashing health bar. Gabs has actually used them, though.

I meant to say, the pics of Gabs smelling Shinon's hair, and Chase looking on in dejected disgust made me literally laugh out loud lol

EDIT: And ohhh, if you could send me some of that gear I'd be eternally grateful! :kissing: I actually like the thought of my Arisen taking care of dear little Selene; I just don't want to marry the girl! lol
