So apparently Alynna was invited on a romantic outing to Prayer Falls by That Guard With the Hair, Ser Jerrome. Shinon didn't like this idea, considering that Alynna had not ten minutes ago given this guard a crapton of knives, which he seemed to enjoy far too much. Shinon shared his concerns with Chase and Seel, who agreed that Alynna should not be left alone with this wacko.

So they crashed their date. Shinon and Chase pulled her aside and told her that she should watch herself, while Seel practiced being pixely and semi-transparent.
Posted Image
She assured them that they had nothing to worry about, he just liked collecting knives. To allay their fears, she invited them to come with her and Jerrome the rest of the way to Prayer Falls.

They ended up taking the wrong path to the falls, having to cross knee-deep water to reach their destination. When they reached the other side, Alynna noticed Jerrome wasn't with them. She turned back.
Posted Image
She hollered for him to follow, but he wouldn't. She had to trek across the river again, pick him up and carry him to the other side.
Posted Image
This was not the romantic date she had expected. She sent him some liquid effluvium afterwards.

In other news, Shinon informed his master that it was his birthday. They went to the alehouse, where the waitress gave them both party hats and told Shinon he could have a free meal.
Posted Image
He's so thrilled with his festival pie and cloudwine, you have no idea. He's not so thrilled that only two people showed up, but he knows he's a bit of a jerk.
Posted Image

I mean, he could have just told his master that her hood was ugly.
Posted Image

Shinon didn't want to take off his party hat at the end of the day. Alynna had to distract him with a lantern to play with so she could take his hat off.
Posted Image
The semi-nudity was Distraction Plan B, but the lantern was more than enough.

Alynna's Creepy Date and Shinon's Birthday Party are two of my new favorite narratives thus far now LOL They look so cute with their party hats on! I don't blame Shinon for not wanting to give his up. Hey, that means Shinon is a virgo like me :P My birthday's tomorrow! Or would he be a Leo? I'm on the cusp.

Poor Seel. He's very good at being pixely, especially since he's now wearing that new coat I bought him, and it makes all his screencaps blurry. Bah.

Shinon's party looked lively. Lots of standing, staring....pawns are good at that. Posted Image

I keep forgetting about that hat....hmmmm. Since I am tooling around Gransys right now in my NG+, it may be high time for a pair of ridiculous outfits. Need to do the Lady-Thieves guild quest line. So long as I put Chase in women's wear, I wonder if I can get away with him sporting the party hat?? Might just have to try. Posted Image

@those that have recently lost Chase to cliffs, scythe's or pawn stupidity.....my apologies. I am currently playing around with his personality and inclinations. I believe he is set now to Scather as his primary inclination, and all his responses are set to Aggressive. He now alternates between the potty squat, and the Shinon arm raise. He might also be letting adrenaline get the better of him. (hence, dying too often....heh!) Oh, and he is set to Warrior for the moment. Just cuz...

Now for the pics meant to be posted yesterday and.....weren't. Posted ImagePosted Image

Haha, nice shots!

Sorry I haven't been around much...one of our turtles just died.

Gamera was a 12-year old Painted Turtle. We found him at the bottom of the tank last night, and he wasn't moving. We got him put in another tank, away from the other turtle, and watched him overnight. Long story short, I think he's gone now. Poor little guy.

Here he is.

Anyway, when I get back online, I'll do some more gifting. Anyone need/want anything?

Cool beans. You know, Chase is one of those pawns who looks awesome in every class. I thought Arya looked goofy as a strider. She just is a warrior/fighter. I think Seel will transition nicely to strider/ranger (maybe around lvl 60 or so we will move in that direction to build up strength and get Sinew at least), but can't imagine him as a warrior.

p.s. Does anyone have an efficient method for searching the forum/threads? I need that post someone made (think it was coldy) about best... GDI the word is escaping me. Whatever Sinew, etc. are called. Anyway, the best ones for warrior/fighter, strider/ranger, and mage/sorcerer pawns.

Augments. ;)

Best Augments for Warrior/Fighter (okay, totally based on how I play...lol!):
1) Clout - strength (attack) modifier...make toon strong, hit hard! :D
2) Vehemence - also strength (attack) modifier
3) Sinew - carry stuff, and equipment for those two classes generally weigh more
4) Ferocity - gives your basic attack more "oomph!" XD
5) Bastion or Awareness - defensive augments; Bastion for physical attack protection (good for a pawn or PC that hasn't been set as a fighter/warrior class very much) and Awareness for those that are lacking in magick defense.
6) If toon is low on stamina, then Proficiency is good. If you are looking for more offense, then Impact is a good choice.

Hope this helps. ;)

Thanks so much! I remember outfitting Arya according to your specifications. And perhaps Happy or Shep gave her input as well. Any ideas for sorcerer/mage?

For Sorcerer/Mage

1) Acuity - Magick modifiers....more equals best-er. XD
2) Attunement - Magick modifier
3) Articulacy - Makes spell casting 15% quicker...very nice to have when spell casting can be. so. slow.
4) Sinew - carry m'stuff. :D :D
5) Bastion or Awareness - defensive augments (see above info)
6) Gravitas - Keeps ya from getting knocked down while intoning. If you are looking for a little help in Stamina though, you could choose Conservation. I just find Gravitas more useful. Of course, I'm not really lacking on stamina, and can raise that with accessories so.....*shrug*

:D

Thanks, guys. :kissing:

Gamera was my husband's turtle from before we met, so he's more upset about it than I am, but it's still sad. You probably wouldn't think a turtle would make a good pet, but they are great! Of course, we'd have a zoo in our house if we could.

Anyway, I totally agree with coldy's augment choices. Those are the same as what I use as well.

Oh, no. Now I'm thinking about dusting off Iorveth again, the wind must be blowing. Hehe.

And I started using Skull Belts. I don't know why, but I like how it looks. Totally crappy stats, but skulls!

Well, beer and plushies are universal so.....pass them to the hubby as needed. ;)

I LOVE the Skull Belt. Ulee wore them almost all the time during the first 30 or so levels. And yup, she even dusted them off for a few later runs in the Everfall.

Wear those skulls with pride! XD
......and I think you should bring your elf out to play too.... :D

You ain't seen nothin' yet. I loaded up the game about an hour ago and found Material Witness on the notice board in the Gran Soren Inn. An hour later, I'm only up to the Mountain Waycastle. Ser Jerrome's on duty. It's awkward.

Hey, that means Shinon is a virgo like me :P My birthday's tomorrow! Or would he be a Leo? I'm on the cusp.

He's a LeGo. ;) And happy pre-birthday, Moto!

Is it the heresy coat doing that? It seems to fix when you zoom. The pixely stuff in that shot I took usually happens when there's too much going on onscreen, or when you're aiming at something.

:( Pet deaths are tough. Hugs have been sent.

And re: strider/ranger augments, I usually use the same as the ones I have for warrior, which are pretty much what Cold posted, but instead of proficiency or impact, I use Opportunism, which boosts strength when clinging to monsters. I always have Shinon equipped with both Bastion and Awareness, although I bet he could go without Bastion. I haven't tried, because I've been putting him in not exactly ideal armor.

Thanks. Posted Image You ain't kiddin'. My cats need to live forever. I will be beyond messed up when they go.

How do you get those hug shots? Love them!

And Skull Belts. I wouldn't have even known about or remembered them if I hadn't done NG+.

...and your wish will be granted soon.

There's not much else I can do with Lielle/Gabrielle, and to be honest, dragonforging has kind of lost its luster. Now I'm just forging total crap that I don't even like. That's a bit much. So...time for a change.

I only played the demo, but I like the design and am in love with the character creator. But I've heard that this game is very, very hard. I don't mind playing a game on higher difficulties once I know it, but from what I've heard this game is pretty brutal, which wouldn't be to my liking for the first run. Is that true or was someone exagerating and it's not that bad?

It's not hard at all! Unless you actually play on hard B) Which I do not... and it's not hard! And I've only been playing RPGs for a couple years.

There is an "easy" setting that they added after the initial release, and there is no level scaling of the beasties found in the game. Some are very difficult when you start out, but can be curb-stomped after some leveling. With the exception of endgame style bosses, and a few specific quest related baddies, you can always run away from monsters who out class your PC.

Lastly, you can add the lively bunch on this thread to your friend list, and hire our higher level pawns out, for free. Once you get comfortable with the game play, you can increase the difficulty. There is a more hardcore setting and a speedrun setting as well.

So come to the dark side and join the Ogre Oppressors, the Griffon Grapplers, the Harpy Harpooners, the Spectre Spearers,  the Dragon Demolishers....okay, I'll stop.Posted ImagePosted Image

It's much easier if you are able to hire friends pawns that are higher level than you, for free. If you're on Xbox, I'd be happy to help you with that.

You know, I've heard people say that it's tough, but really it's about being prepared. I'm sure you can handle it. If you die a few times, so what? We've all done it, dusted ourselves off, and get right back in. Be warned, though, it's addictive.
